Admittedly I'm not a very big anime fan. I watch very few animes in fact. I however, absolutely love the original FMA. Much more than the more canonical FMA:Brotherhood. I feel like it has a darker, more serious story and I find it much more engaging. Plus it has a fantastic English dub

This was the first anime I ever watched with my older brother. I picked up the habit from that point on, I guess we're equal because he started smoking because of me.

Read the manga, the less serious ver actually reads serious enough.

Wow dude that looks awful.

>I'm a pleb and I like the original FMA better than Brotherhood
Fire is hot, water is wet, etc.

Thanks for admitting it.

The original anime is better though, even if you prefer the manga ending. The original handles the content up to the point where it goes anime original a lot better than Brotherhood does. I don't get why so many people who like this series only care about the ending and nothing else about it.

You're not wrong

Well, at least you have good taste in shonen. Watch Gash Bell next.

YOU KNOW WHO'S GOT THE POWER

In terms of animation, I think 2003 FMA was better, too. The colors seemed more vibrant, the action snappier, and there were less comedic asides during serious moments.

So both of you are retarded. Good to know.

Nice. Epic. I like it.

That was uncalled for, but I guess bitter virgins have to lash out randomly so you're forgiven

Brotherhood was shit because of the unnecessary comedy that took away from otherwise serious, potentially cinematic situations and the shit lighting/color palette that they used for the series.
I absolutely hate series that have good stories but don't take themselves seriously.
One Piece is another example of this kind of bullshit.
Good ideas that are ruined by their own popularity because the writers/producers know that no matter what they shit out the fans will eat it all up and it will sell anyways.

Both versions of FMA have their strengths and weaknesses, I prefer Brotherhood because the last arc in the 2003 version felt pretty rushed and left too much shit unresolved. If FMA 2003 had at least five more episodes to flesh out the stuff they introduced in the last two episodes, it could have an equally satisfying conclusion.

Still, I love both shows and watch them at least once every year.

Hi MAL

Bumping for interest

I like both of them but I do prefer how the original went through the characters' arcs and I felt that Brotherhood rushed it. I also liked the music for FMA '03 a lot better for its darker sound. However, FMA Brotherhood handled the ending better.

Then you don't belong on the anime board, retard. Fuck off and kill yourself.

Rude.

You watching first and you try to convince yourself. Kinda normal.
