The anime is a good introduction to the Youkoso series. But should by no means, but an indicator of how good or bad the series is. That's all it is, an introduction to the characters in general and the basic gist of the plot. If it interests you slightly, know that the LNs can deliver much more of that better than the anime did. There's none of the pretentious philosophical bullshit the anime does as well, and certain characters are a lot less bitchy in the LNs too. And certain heroines also have scenes that were stolen from them in the anime.

Classic case of LN adaptation turning out like crap. Guess I'll see about finding the ln translation.
