Is Unit 01 linked to Yui because the Evas imbued with human "souls" via the Personality Transplant OS just like the Magi or because she was absorbed by Unit 01? When Shinji goes 400% sync ratio in episodes 19 & 20, they say this happened before but the retrieval operation failed, which lets us assume they were talking about Yui Ikari's "death." But the Evas are supposedly imbued with souls anyway, because Unit 02 has Asuka's mom inside. So did Yui get absorbed by Unit 01 or Unit 02 and which one did her personality get transplanted to?
