Unpopular opinion: I really do like the FLCL OST, but I think in part it's only highly regarded because they have a "real" band doing it. I'd love to see more anime do the same because I think the Pillows are just good, not great.

I have to agree on this. There are plenty of one-off soundtracks by others I enjoy too (Takkyu Musume is a good example), but I usually end up coming back to Iwasaki.
