The original series is better than this one, DDD is good, but the worst of the three. Kukuri's design is cuter in the '94 version, too.

I prefer it, but I'd say they're on pretty even terms. I liked the slower pace and character designs more in the old one, but the animationn't as good and the fast pace works well for the new series.
Also, the new series cut one of the best gags.
