I think people would rather cite that the electoral votes for Texas would shift towards being fully blue thanks to the demographic shift we're facing. Even if that wasn't the case, it's all fun and jokes to demand states leave. We could say that we really want California gone, but in honest we just want them to be different. The instant they actually manage to say or push for secessionist in a serious sense we'd brand them as traitors. The same would be said to us. If it wasn't an automatic response, we know that (((they'd))) do their best to make people believe it.
The social cohesion is that we're Americans, and it's not an exaggeration on exactly how many people actually gloat about being so. Another example of people being happy to serve would be the percentage of people from Texas that serve in the US military.

That's a discussion for another thread if we were to have it seriously. The short answer for that is even if that was a genuine option, Mexico is too decentralized and rampant with its own problems to really even consider it. They do have a very strong industrial base however, and are attempting to solve their issues themselves. Best of luck to them.

Hispanics being present in Texas isn't a problem at all, however the fact that they overwhelm some counties in the southern regions to vote for predominantly democratic candidates is. Being raised among them within the deeper southern part of Texas makes it easy to notice this. They're not bad people, but the fact that they don't really like including non-latinos once they're the majority and that they continue to vote for gibs makes them their own self sustaining problem.
