Yeah, SSR, MIA and LWA were some of the better shows this year, but I couldn't go into the threads at all.

It's decent so far.

There's quite a lot of things that are definitely based on real world references. Rural stone cottages, dry stone walls, even the sign on the bus stop this episode.

The Cotswolds are an area where a lot of the Japanese tourists to the UK visit, so it would fit if the mangaka was inspired by it. One of the stations in the area has this sign to help all the visitors.

"Exquisite" is, I think, an appropriate word for it. It's been a perfect adaptation thus far.

Pretty great. Personally I've been liking the adaptation more than the chapters they adapted, but I'm partial to animated stuff.

This is the first episode that got the feel of the characters being really deep. So far it was only the promise of everything getting more complex. I hope it continues.

It seems like most of Sup Forums does it anyway, or at least project pretty hard into whatever male character is in the show.
Empathizing with a male character is one thing, but to be unable to enjoy a show unless it has a male character you can project yourself into prevents you from being able to enjoy some actually really great shows and characters.

Normal people can't see faeries.

He lacks the power of magical sight, so he can't see her except through happenstance, and she can't make herself be seen by him except by happenstance because of the separation of the mundane and the magical. This will come up again later in the series.

I think it's actually a really good opener to the series as you get to know Chise and why she's so timid before she meets Elias. It does spoil one character a bit but he's in the opening and ending so I think the point is a bit moot.

Lindel's familiar, the selkie, has a seal form that people can see, which is kind of how the mythology behind selkies came to be in the first place.
