Explain how a human beat a demigod

Explain how a human beat a demigod

It doesn't make sense to me.

Gil is retarded.

gil never trained to use a sword

Because it's essentially a harem shounen that only pretends it's something more. There's no meaning to it. The japanese highschool protagonist uses a sword to beat the big bad against impossible odds and saves the world / his waifu. That's all it is.

Now, if you're looking for a good story that is actually well written and not just hollow, convoluted deepshit, I recommend Fate/Zero.

UBW hardcountered Gil and Gil was also overly cocky.

Gil was so overpowered that that he could never be beaten legitimately without it feeling retarded.

Gil was arrogant, never trained to use a sword, and underestimated Shirou. Shirou was able to rely on his lifetime of training as well as Unlimited Blade Works having a faster draw speed than Gate of Babylon. Gil never stood a chance.

Because the human is 100 lbs worth of sword

Wrong, Gil knows how to use a sword. He just never bothered to take his skills as high as someone like Saber or Assassin.

>strength- B
>luck - A

Shit writing

Plot armor.

>Cheap coincidences cooked up by Nasu ad hoc so that the shounen protagonist could beat the big bad

He had the high ground.

>Shirou has trained with Saber, and then starts emulating Archer
>UBW is faster than Gate of Babylon
>Gil can't even use the majority of the weapons in GoB unless he's firing them at people like arrows
>Gil has no armour
>Gil is obscenely cocky
It's quite simple really.

>Now, if you're looking for a good story that is actually well written and not just hollow, convoluted deepshit, I recommend Fate/Zero.

Gil forgot about all the instakill weapons he could have summoned

Explain

A baby knows how to use a sword. Someone knowing how to use a sword is not the same as someone who has trained in the sword.

Bad writing, the Fate franchise is made of it

Let me question this.

Can a Demigod bleed?

A baby can't exchange blows with someone whose an expert with the sword.

It's how in RPGs you sometimes equip low level weapons when you're confident enough only to get jumped.

Shirou traces the skills and techniques of the weapon's main user along with the weapon itself. Gil hasn't mastered any of the weapons he owns, so Shirou gets the advantage in a head-to-head fight.

This.

>He never read the story of Gilgamesh

READ MORE FAGGOT

Asspull.

...

But the skills and techniques are made with a specific body in mind. You can't use the skill properly if you can't move as fast or hit as hard as the original wielder. Or the fact that no matter how good he is, a human just cannot keep up with a person that fights a supersonic speeds.

there was no asspull in epic of gilgamesh

I'm pretty sure he traces some degree of strength as well.

UBW is broken as fuck. Goldie never stood a chance.

Then it's not really copying skills and techniques, but a complete bullshit way to become any heroic spirit he wants then.

Imagine Mike Tyson fought George Foreman or Earnie Shavers.
Now Imagine he didn't block cause he thought he just style over them.
That's why.
>Inb4 'Well Real's Writing is shit then!'

It's a fucking porn game. That's it. Don't expect any deep themes or even basic logic. The entire fate series is an amalgamation of some ginger banging historic sluts. Now stop making these fucking threads.

The writer wishes it

He will.

>Goldie never stood a chance.
Are you retarded?

Don't think
t.Nasu

He can't perfectly trace a heroic spirit's strength and skill at all. He would definitely have a much harder time against any other servant. But it's enough to work against Gil (without armor or Ea).

Plot armor>Demigod.

>Watch a show where the final two episodes go into excruciating detail telling you how Shirou will beat Gil.
>Still don't get it.
Over ten years here and I still casually overestimate the intelligence of the posters here.

Underrated post.

Gay Teenage Gil is grail corrupted.

>Only a man can truly hope to kill a monster.

>2 of his three options are modern day girls.
Congrats you don't even know the series you're bitching about

Something's bleeding alright

>excruciating detail
Meaning a bunch of magical mumbo jumbo nonsense with zero relation to the plot that Nasu barfed up out of nowhere to make his story seem less contrived, cliche, and formulaic.

>Meaning a bunch of magical mumbo jumbo nonsense with zero relation to the plot
So you didn't watch the show at all, since the entire plot revolves around Shirou. His powers and it's uses are central.
I see.
I won't even fault you for not reading the visual novel since the anime was so well done, but since you didn't even bother to watch what you're angry about, you don't deserve to know anything.
Drown in your own ignorance.

What's wrong with Gil's left arm?

Japanese high school kids beating demigods due to some retarded gimmick or the power of friendship is one of the reasons I stopped watching shonen.

> a human
But it was a 2v1,

The author willst it.

>It doesn't make sense to me.
Does it have to?

see

What am I supposed to see?

Because Fate Shit Night is dumb battle shonen that appeals to 15 year olds at the latest, or people with that mental age.

>I won't even fault you for not reading the visual novel
I did read the VN. Before I watched UBW. It sucked.

>Drown in your own ignorance

because UBW allows Shirou to negate Gils main strength

because Gil (more or less reasonably actually) assumed that a human cant beat a servant and therefore didnt wear his armor or use any strategy other that sperging out at the very insult of it, and by the time he realized his mistake it was too late

because Gil uses swords while Shirou wields them

you seem triggered

The post quoted

The Heart

>I did read the VN.
Then how the hell are you still confused? They spell it out in even more minute detail. The only explanation is that you skimmed and didn't pay attention to the anime, but even then you must have picked up on enough details to know why Shirou won.

Now I just think you understand, but you don't like the climax so you decided it doesn't make sense because of you like the antagonist more.

because this is trash written for preteens

>damage control

Gil is a poor fighter despite being "the strongest Servant", like how Avenger is a ferocious fighter, yet "the weakest Servant". Fuck off and read the VN before you try to talk about it.

>Cheap coincidences
like how Gil's arrogance and certainty in his own power was never shown before and didnt almost get him killed vs berzerker at the very end?

or how "mere humans" challenging the heroes of legend didnt happen with saber vs assasin?

or how there wasn't a point of specific skills beating more powerful opponents through specialization with kuzuki vs saber?

Reminder that Gil had to go through a decade of personality reassignment therapy special treatment to be likeable.

I dunno if he's baiting or not but I actually agree. Fate/Zero is the best Fate anything by far. Urobuchi Gen is a God.

Who's more popular: Gil or GARcher?

EMIYA is by far more popular

Are you blind or stupid?

That poll is old.

>As we have the same ability, as we are both "owners", I am always one step ahead of him since my swords are there, ready to be used…!
It's fight between two retards who can't into melee but one of them can draw his weapon faster because he don't need to summon it from portal

Fate is just yet another shitty shonen show, nothing weird with it falling for shitty shonen cliches

>Gil is a poor fighter
KoGil and Caster Gil arent

>I did read the VN
so you say, but the way you act suggests you havent

>Fuck off and read the VN before you try to talk about it.
You don't even need to anymore, you just have to be able to see and think. Ufotable condensed a considerable amount of the writing into visual metaphor.

Shirou beating Gil comes across as forced, badly written and retarded as fuck because:
1. Up until that point, Shirou only served as a punching bag for everyone in the show. His skill doesn't have that much progress, and most important, we don't really notice that much progress throughout his fights. Just a few episodes before fighting Gil, you would think that even a shitty magician could beat Shirou without too much trouble.
In other words, the way the anime puts, his fight with Gil comes across as a weak ass kid who only got punched around for 20 episodes beating the most powerful character in the series out of nowhere because of some retarded asspull that the show made up.
It's extremely unsatisfying to watch a character that's established as being one of the most overpowered beings in existence being beaten by someone who's until that point was established as being one of the weakest characters in the series without a proper build up and progression.
2. Even with the bullshit explanation about UBW countering Gil(which is nonsense), they still had to force the idea that Gil wasn't fighting seriously and didn't want to use Ea due to ''muh pride'' even though he was basically getting humiliated by Shirou already.
3. The whole idea of ''UBW copies his weapons faster than he can materialize them'' is hard to swallow in itself.
4. Not only is Shirou copying the weapons faster than Gil is creating them, but he also out of nowhere became a super agile and skilled fighter without any proper training beforehand. Again, we are seeing a supposedly weak ass character doing feats worthy of an heroic spirit, like leaping 10 meters into the air, deflecting Gil's attacks with incredibly agile swings and dodging like he was Dante from DMC.

This is without even touching the whole thing about a generic japanese highschooler beating a legendary heroic spirit.
The scene is bad, and Nasu is a hack.

Then why do people like OP still ask retarded questions?

>confused
>understand
It's an edgy, badly written chose-your-own-story (but not really) picturebook for angsty 13 year old boys.

Wow so deep. I guess it's not just a shitty shounen because of a bunch of sleep inducing autsim and powerlevel jibberish from Nasu

>2. Even with the bullshit explanation about UBW countering Gil(which is nonsense),
Stopped reading here. You obviously don't care for a serious response and you should leave Sup Forums permanently.
Your points boil down to "I don't like it, so it's bad writing."
You have no business critiquing anything, ever.

Wasn't a Servant with even a D in STR way stronger than your average human? How didn't Shirou's fingers break as soon as he clashed swords with Gil?

Because they are retarded people. Stupid people say stupid things, and if they're confident in themselves, they will never learn. On an anonymous imageboard where there is no threat to harm your self-image, idiots are given free reign to say what they like and not learn a thing from their actions.

>sleep inducing autsim and powerlevel jibberish from Nasu

>waaaaaaaagh why is this not explained this is shit and makes no sense

>it gets explained

>waaaaaaaagh why is this explained this is autistic and makes no sense

E is like 10x stronger than a human

Because muh swords

explain why its nonsense ?
>like leaping 10 meters into the air
thats only in the anime not the vn

Read the VN lad. Please just read it and stop making yourself look like a fool by saying and asking retarded things.

You sure spoke like somebody that only watched the UBW anime (which have a shit load of mistakes and changes that fails to convey across the numerous mechanics of fights and Characterization)

>Barking about how UBW is a shitty shounen.
>Wants the fights to be about raw powelevels like a shitty shounen.
What do you want, faggot?

>so you say, but the way you act suggests you havent
Sup Forums memed me into it and I regret every second of it. Total garbage. I'm just too old to enjoy crap like that. I don't care what awful gimmick nasu fabricated for Shirou's highschool teacher to be fighting servants in the grail war. I don't want to read 10 pages of thinly spread jargon that tries to make this cheap, juvenile plot device seem like it's something more than it is. Zzzzzzz

It's just not explained well at all, Fatefuck. Go read Dies Irae to see what good writing looks like and then get back to me.

UBW is shit user. Better question would be how Archer comes back at the end to finish Gil and say bye bye to Rin

E is what a human can reach naturally by training their body, everything above is superhuman.

>E is like 10x stronger than a human

Nowhere is that ever stated.

The only thing EVER stated was a score of 10 points.

Because he never died, pay attention.

>Read the VN lad.
Don't listen to them user. It's no fucking better. It's the same stupid bullshit but it takes 100 hours to read.

>Gilcucks always portray their King as the strongest servant
>Can't refute the point that he got btfo'd by a mortal ginger in a 1v1 fight and have to resort to shitting on the writer
That's some long lasting butthurt, but I always get my chuckles out of it.

Dies Irae doesn't explain shit well at all, most of them brings out FAR more questions about the mechanics than answers.

The power of a generic self-insert MC

Yeah he was just out of mana for days and gutted by Lancer, Shirou and Gil, but no he was fine the entire time

This:

Its obviously the score isn't a straight up multiplier if you look at all the various descriptions of speed.

Saber = 7 meters + slashing attack covered with 2 steps
Saber's maximum speed + command spell boost = Mach 13.2
Archer's BP arrows = just as fast
True Assassin = slower than Lancer and Saber but as fast or faster than Kotomine
Rider = faster maximum speed than Lancer
Sakura Rider + bad terrain (cavern) = 50 meters in 2 seconds, while trying to buy enough time to get Black Saber off her back so she could gain enough distance to use Bellerophon
Lancer = 100 meter backstep in a blink of an eye, 50 meters forward in one breath, best dasher
Rin = 100 meters in 7 seconds
Kotomine (when running on bad terraincarrying Ilya and no spells) = 50km/h Shirou, with Archer's arm (before activation) = slightly slower speed than Kotomine; 100 meters in 7 seconds on bad terrain
Black Berserker (blind) = 30 meters in less than 3 seconds while slashing
Black Berserker slashes = speed of sound
Nine Lives = faster than speed of sound
Lancer's hurled Gae Bolg = Mach 2, at 40 kilo distance
Pegasus = 400~500km/h
Bazett's right straight = 80km/h
Reinforced Kuzuki throw/slam = Saber, 40kg, at a speed of 200km/h
Araya = fast enough to dodge a bullet after it's been shot. Ryougi Shiki 3rd personality attack = faster than reaction of said Araya

90% of DI posts are bait, just don't reply.
