Simple analysis based on geopolitical events. Israel and KSA share a mutual enemy in Iran, and both have been lobbying heavily for US involvement. Syria, Yemen and (especially) Lebanon are used as proxies, and Iran bankrolls the effort. The policies in Yemen have failed to curb the Yemen problem, and both militaia and surrogate groups have become more aggressive over the last few months. I can't discount the possibility of Hamas doing what it usually does in Gaza, but the timing is interesting.
