US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.
The bill is fundamentally unconstitutional, as it applies retroactively and thus violates the ex post facto clause. Even the DoJ said that the bill is shit. But the bill was couched in "save duh chilluns" language, and nobody's voting against that shit in a tough midterm year.
