We don't but loli tanuki and grown up tanuki are cute, so it's alright.

SH isn't A Isekai shit
it's THE Isekai shit

I would normally say yes, but shield hero is decent compared with the dozens of modern isekais that already got the anime treatment in the latest years

>I would normally say yes
You understand that answering 'yes' to OP's question means that you want more isekai anime, right?

What we truly need animated is Tanaka!

We need Kenja no Mago except the MC should be an asshole in the anime.

>but shield hero is decent compared with the dozens of modern isekais
no. It's one of the most "crawling in my skin" self-pity shits I've read in ages.

>not harem
>blandest girl out of all the female characters
Truly sad when you fail at wish-fulfillment this hard.

That phase of self pity and loathing everything barely lasted a few chapters, he was quick to change from being consumed by hatred to be merely pissed off with the people who wronged him and only relapse into his previous attitude if he had to deal with that people again.

Only at first.
About half way there's a boring village building arc where nothing really happens for ages.
And after that it just devolves into a masturbatory revenge fantasy as he's now ridiculously overpowered compared to everyone else.
And then the author decided to piss off what little of the readers remained and ended the world, only to retcon it later.

This isn't any better you know? It went from emo shit to edgy shit, still self-masturbation for deranged losers. I wouldn't be surprised if the author imagined some of the "bad guys" as his highschool bullies.

Shield hero is so bad

It wasn't really that emo, author could make a good revenge story with the Mc working against the odds with only 1 person by his side, instead the Queen showed up and changed the story into a shitty harem fantasy with no real threats

It really is, yet the MC is also incredibly bland so in a way they’re perfect for each other.

At least is slightly better than SAO.
Even if i would have preferred "himekishi ga classmate" or (even if not isekai cause the MC is a native) "maou no hajimekata".

>himekishi ga classmate
>maou no hajimekata

Preferring even worse shit. Nice logic.

I like that its not a harem, but the main girl's complete lack of substance really spoils it.

im angry that nippon actually knows im a sucker for isekai

What's so good about them? Most of the time they have a bullshit OP powers and try to enforce their own traditions and customs

I don't mind that

Literally my fetish.

So how many people that have read the wn read the LN already?

I would like to see for once a decent male character instead of "standard blueballed faggot #786253726345791"

>no real threats

>the guardian beasts
>the waves themselves
>bitch
>the plots of the church of the 3 heroes
>otherworld invaders
>reincarnators
there's plenty of threats dude.

I only read 1 LN volume.
I still need to finish Paper isekai WN first

>paper isekai
what's that one about?

this : novelupdates.com/series/ascendance-of-a-bookworm/

Oh the book loli

How about a good revered Isekai?

>one-dimensional 'I'm the best, just the best' edgelord
>decent

There are 50 anime series airing every season. 1-2 are isekai. Nobody is forcing you to watch them.

Only if they rewrite it a bit to be more like Konosuba.

WN is trash incarnate. Only good for amazing M-da designs and girls being bitches.

What? Where is the Isekai in Gargoyles?

>Uh, i'm so multidimensional i dunno were to put my dick... so i'm not put it anywhere

We need something to replace battle academies.

Yes we do.

And how exactly does that change the fact that edgy 'I'm going to rape every female introduced in this novel but they'll love it because I'm just that cool' MCs are pieces of shit as well?

So what's that one about?

The world is so different for them that it could easily considered be "another world".
Yankie in Arthurs courts is the same just going back in time isntead of the future.

That at least don't make you cringe.

>So what's that one about?
It's Fuuka, Seo's most recent truckwreck manga.

You are an idiot if you truly believe that.

As the one guy that constantly brings it up just give me a Kawazu anime already

>Truckwreck
I hate and love Japan for their use of trucks as a plot device.

Then tell me why A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is considered a westernn isekai

>slightest hint of trouble
>'Oh no worries I'll just use this retardedly broken skill I unlocked moments ago to solve it in 1 page'
>'Man that was exhausting, time to have not-rape with my hot sex slaves'

Are you talking about re:monster

>Then tell me why A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is considered a westernn isekai
Because you are talking out of your ass?

Have you ever been to an isekai thread on Sup Forums before? I've never seen anyone talk abgainst that.

You are now.

NOOOOOOOOO
BUT THIS ONE IS ACTUALLY GOOOOOOOD

Says every Visual Novel shit head ever

We're not talking about visual novels though.

Grimgar was good imo

Mary a best

These. Grimgar's adaptation had fantastic background art, I've got a couple wonderful screenshots saved. Too bad the LN got licensed, Nanodesu was doing a decent job and I think their TL was a bit better imo.

Time and Shihoru were my favorites. I respect your opinion, but disagree.
Goddamn the backgrounds were gorgeous.

>have not-rape
>implying
he just didn't want problems with hummie settlements and remain in good standing with the elves, never has he been show to be against forced cuddling

>can't rape the willing eitherway

...

...

How much better is the LN anyway? It's been a while, but I remember hating the Tact arc and everything afterwards.

In a nutshell there's a lot of new stuff going on, new arcs, characters, and a lot of events are approached differently or get re-done entirely. Like the calmira island arc, it's very diferent to the one in the WN you can even see it in the manga, which is being adapting that arc right now.

It's either this or we get more moe slice of life shit and I choose isekai over that anyday.

We're getting moe slice of life isekai before Shield Hero though.

I hate this story and the characters so fucking much, but I still keep following it for some reason. This MC is everything I hate. Literally invincible, muh superior Japanese laws and society, every girl instantly fawns over him, doesn't care about anything, no goals or motivations.

Yes and we don't need more of it. Whenever another genre dies, the industry thinks it should give up and resort to moe slice of life. Back then, I really hated battle harems but for this reason, I regret shitting on them.

Then there's overlord in the same season, and arifureta in spring season, this next april specifically.

>but I still keep following it for some reason.
are you like that one otter that hates eating watermelon but can't stop eating it?

This one is pretty gud desu

This one is already in volume 6. Time sure flies quickly.

Without the invincible part, slice of life would be much harder since even normal heroes have little chance of survival. There are so many side character girls that keeping track of names is a problem. The lack of goals is a problem, there is only so much searching for new food that can be done before it gets boring.

>new arcs and characters
>re-done events
I still have my doubt. I stopped reading the WN when the heros were in a island.
What exactly did they redo?

What hurts me is Shield Hero had a decent start even when I have rpg mchanics and edgy stuff.
For me, the series died after he gets his revenge.

Mushoku Tensei

The anime is happening no matter if you think you need it or not, stop with this kind of questions you self centered faggot.

You know, I feel like one of the main issues with isekai is the lack of good world building. Pretty much every isekai has the same boring, generic high fantasy setting that's based off JRPG mechanics.

For the island arc? Everything. i'll spoiler you the important parts if that's ok:
>Hero meeting happens eariler
>We meet two new characters that become important later on
>no party swaps
>cal mira island wave
>The heroes fight glass again, and she has backup this time
The island arc is just a part of a greater arc that deals with the mystery of the waves which ends up with Naofumi and co. crossing to another world to retrieve something important that was stolen

You speaking about the LN or the WN?

How would they justify the MC being OP if he didn't come into the world with advanced knowledge?

This WN has nothing going for it like Nada.
The girls just barely stand out, the MC is just a nice guy/gentlemen/tourist archetype which I'm sick and tired of, I'd rather him be an edgelord or pervert or at least have something distinct about him which is also terrible btw don't get me wrong here but that type of Absolutely BLANK MC is something I just can't digest, he has to have something but this guy is a big lump of nothing I mean he's not even that nice guy you see in battle harems he's just friggin nothing. The author is proud of himself for playing it incredibly safe since the 'harem members' are lolis(not all of them btw) he acts like this 'gentlemen' and fucks a prostitute instead because he treats the harem like family and is giant hypocrite which actually never mind thats not even the main issue I have with this series.

I like isekacrap in general but this is something very hard to describe for me how do I put it? It's not even that nothing ever happens akchually a lot happens like in the beginning he even goes to this dungeon but it just feels so boring, like the descriptions just don't hook you get what I'm saying? I've read a lot of shit where 'nothing happens' like isekai smartphone but with this I just didn't even get that very slight sense of adventure, I definitely had it with saihate no paladin, MT or even Dungeon Seeker and fucking porn novels have more going on that front to not make you feel like you're doing a chore instead of reading no matter how cliche, no matter how boring they turn out to be

So what does this series have anyway? Lets talk about the girls they are mediocre, and if the MC doesn't even bother with them then let me ask whats the point of them? Remove them. I'm sure there's another way of focusing on family type story with lolis instead of blueballing your audience left and right. If that's the case don't let them lust for the MC in the first place.
Now about worldbuilding.. you know just fuck it.

They're a historyfag in a low fantasy setting.

Yes

I like it but what good is knowledge of history in an alternate world? Perhaps if he went back in time instead.

Maybe and engineeringfag instead?

checking how the isekai kingdom is going compared to previous civilizations and proposing stuff so they don't end up like the ruined civilizations of yore.

Well, it's still going to be a generic medieval/renaissance fantasy setting in all likelihood. Which means that there's going to be significant parallels between how things worked historically in our world, and how things work in that world. Furthermore, a lot of basic stuff is going to be the same no matter what, like basic economic and political theory are going to be the same no matter what world.

Use it modern knowledge in an alternate fantasy world to advance civilization is always shit and bullshit no matter what and has been done so much that it's unoriginal to boot.
Just give me a specs ops dude using his training to survive in a fantasy world with no OP powers bullshit instead.

>dude slimes are weak lmao

Doesn’t she become a god at one point?

Yeah, I heard something about that. But at least the manga's still in the spider phase, so that's enjoyable.

...

>Doesn’t she become a god at one point?
Not exactly, if I explained it I would give away the biggest twist of the story.

it's dumb but i got a good laugh out of the accidental confession

>samsung exploding phone controversy
This has to be the most random thing i've ever seen tate no yuusha manga panels slapped in.

It was for another manga translation altogether, too. The one with the demon king summoned by the elf and cat girl and the slavery magic reversed onto them. It was so fucking random I couldn't help but save it.

It was made by that nigger TL who put "gangsta" TL notes, wasn't it?

Bare minimum we still have mushoku tensei, slime and kumo left to get anime

fuck if i pay attention to who does what, most of the after-chapter notes seemed to fit that though until Champion took over in the latest chapters

No, I mean the guy who literally put nigger notes in every page.
Shit like "yo dawg those are some big bazoongas, I sure hope MC pounds dat bitch" in literally every fucking page, and there were people defending that shit with some readers told the TL to stop with that cancer.

*when some readers

Oh, no. That happened with the vampire loli isekai, but not Demon Maou.

I found it fine, even if generic as hell, probably thanks to the fact I'm reading the LNs.
I do feel there's some hypocrisy in Satou's actions, can't quite put my finger on it though.
It was one of the high points until now.
It's still jarring to read it due to the sudden tone shifts.
