I smoked weed pretty much every day for about 2 years before I stopped 'cause it started giving me acute panic attacks every time I smoked any, however I have friends who have smoked for way longer and haven't run into any adverse effects.
What I'm saying is that a lot of the side-effects are dependent on the person, I wouldn't recommend anyone to take that risk though, because the effects can be permanent.
