Anthropology is exclusively the process of imagining some narrative and then taking evidence and fitting it into that.
They have no idea how we actually developed. They have no idea why we gained bipedalism. They have no idea what early societies looked like. They have no idea how smart they were.
I'm convinced, completely, that research into transposons in DNA compared to other modern primates and closer relatives will explain our genetic history and the behaviors of hominids better than any anthropologist ever has today. And I'm convinced they'll find that neanderthals were way smarter, as is already being seen.
