Well when people picture California they're usually just picturing LA and San Francisco but it's a huge state. There's tons of farmland and forests mixed in with all these cities so you could throw a dart at a map of California and you'd probably end up somewhere not "stereotypically" California, somewhere that you might consider more reflective of America so in that sense yes.
