After we harnessed fire, shelter, and clothing. The need for these natural mutations diminished. What we have now is what we get. Nature has not yet given us another obstacle for our genetics.

Physical evolution cannot take place in safe environments because there is nothing to threaten the physical, our mind however is being constantly more stimulated and is still evolving
To imply we need our physical bodies put at risk for further mutation is silly, physically we're pretty much complete and the only meaningful evolution left for mankind is evolution in the brain which increases our thinking capabilities, for evolution to grant that to us we must constantly be met with complex problems that recquire cognitive thinking to solve, that doesnt require physical threat at all.
I mean what else do you want for your body? Gills and/or wings would be neat I guess for what it allows us to do but do we really need it since we have submarines that can withstand more pressure then we can and space ships that can go beyond the atmosphere?

'macro evolution' is just what happens when you extrapolate 'micro evolution' over long stretches of time. This is the case since each new generation is the baseline for any new changes.
Lets take bacterial resistance to antibiotics. It's bad to take antibiotics for less than the prescribed time, since some bacteria can survive if you do so. Those will be the bacteria that are most resistant. Since they have not died yet, even when bombarded with antibiotics. These bacteria will then procreate, and form the new population, which will be more resistant to that particular kind of antibiotic.
This is also what happened with the trait of long term thinking during cold European winters. You didn't save seeds for next spring? You didn't build a house to keep the heat? You died. You think maybe the children of people with the required long term thinking, are more likely to have that same long term thinking? Maybe if you weed out everyone with a certain trait, that trait disappears?
This is basic eugenics.
Are children somewhat like their parents? Do traits run in families? Do traits run in ethnic groups? Are some animals obviously closely related to each other, while others are not? Is a tiger related to a lion to a higher degree than a tiger is related to a salmon? What does 'relatedness' mean? Shared heritage? If so, what would the family tree look like? At what point does the tiger and the lion share a grand-grand-grand-grand-(and so on)-father? How many hundreds of generations? How many generations do you have to go back before the tiger and the salmon have a common ancestor? They both share basic traits, like having a spine, a heart and a brain? How many millions of generations?
