It's hard to have an opinion either way. you know?

Ask /jp/
They have Taoists, Shinto and Buddhist threads.
As for me, Taoists are basically humanist and naturalists.
It's about going with the flow

fuck niggers

I suppose that is the way of the Dao

I am more interested in what Sup Forums thinks but I will ask there as well, Daoism kinda resonates

It’s a part of reality. We aren’t ever going to be perfect. It’s basically saying learn from others mistakes, and try to be better than before. Ultimately that’s all you can ever do. Try to be better than a monent ago.

>practising a false religion

Meme. Theravada Buddhism is better

>falling for the demonic rituals
>not even realizing it

I'm a Taoist. I like it, it's very comfy.

How so?

Don't know shit but I have to say that with them, Confucianism and chink folk religions PRC has an obligation to stamp out Christianity out of their own country and protect their native culture and religions.

pagan rituals are easily recognized, they all have a mantra to open you up to demons

whenever there's a mantra, run away

also beware of demonic churches posing as christian, that require you to practice prayer mantra - rosary

keep yourself close to KJV and away from mantras

To be a Daoist properly requires a great deal of training, usually from a young age. The training is rather brutal, similar to monks who meditate in dark caves for months or years at a time, subsisting on very, very little food and no comforts. Daoism in the West is usually considered just an interesting philosophy but in the East it is an entire system of shamanic magic requiring the ability to meditate deeply and experience lucid dreams regularly. It is extremely difficult to find a proper teacher in the West. If you want to try something similar but easier to find a teacher, look into Tibetan Buddhism. If the Shamanism bit isn't your thing, try Zen. Good luck on your journey.

Chink bullshit.

Have some self respect.

The philosophy itself appealed to me.
Any documented examples of the magic working?

There is value in all cultures (except Islamic ones)

Based
Too bad chinese society operated on confucianism

Based

Actually that is a more recent development from when the original ideas became fused with local folk religions.

There is no beauty or ugly. There is only the Tao.

And that is how it exists in the East today. If you can experience "child mind" without any meditation you are already a master. Most people need training to generate bliss, which is where the Shamanic elements come into play. If you want to simply read Lao Tzu and sit in a forest that's your business but it is not a particularly quick path to realization. Most people want to experience results but don't know how. No training.
