Except the NRA is not a gun vendor. Real gun vendors are not giving their stock away for free, because that would be illegal and bad for business.
Also the cartoon fails to acknowledge the solution within it's own attempt at commentary. Even if the NRA or private gun vendors doled out guns in the manner suggestedin the cartoon, "the wrongs hands" are not the only hands receiving the guns, as evidenced by the crowd.
It is akin to the parable in the Bible of the sower. As he sowed his seeds, they fell on all types of soils: dry, rocky, weed-filled, and fertile. Seeds that fell on "the wrong soil" eventually withered and died.
If you think of a gun falling into "the wrong hands" well it will be a matter of time before those wrong hands commit a crime, lose their gun, and go to jail or die as a result of their crime. Why? Because they are "the wrong hands" for a reason. Weed-filled soil is predisposed to be incompatible with life, hence why seeds will die if sown there.

Why are Democrats so fixated on banning "assault weapons"? Ostensibly it is to lower homicide rates, but that makes no sense whatsoever. According to FBI statistics, only about 3% of all firearm murders are committed with rifles. In the vast majority of murders (90%+) that are committed with a gun, the gun is a *handgun*.
Handguns are used to murder in excess of 7000 Americans every year, while rifles are used to murder less than 300. Since that is the case, why are Democrats obsessed with AR-15's?
Here's an explanation:
Democrats hate ARs because ARs are perceived as "white" guns. The people who own them tend to be rural, and tend to be participants in "gun culture." The AR is associated with the patriotic, conservative, culturally christian, "bitter clinger" stereotype. Therefore the the AR is politically expedient for Democrats to attack. Singling out ARs is indirectly singling out the "cis white christian male" archetype, the oppressor of the people in Democrat mythology.

Conversely, Democrats don't care about handguns because handguns are perceived as "black" guns. Black people are FAR more likely to be murdered than white people, and the most common way for black person to be murdered is by another black person wielding a handgun. So many black people are shot by black people with handguns that if you eliminated those murders, the total homicide rate in the US would drop by almost half. For this reason, it is impossible to address the problem of handgun violence without highlighting the problem of black-on-black violence, and Democrats don't want to go within 10 miles of that subject because it conflicts with their "white oppressor" narrative.
Democrats claim that they want gun control to "save lives," but their stance on handgun vs. their stance on rifles proves that claim to be a pretense. When handguns kill thousands, they don't care. Why not? Because those deaths conflict with their "cis white Christian male oppressor" narrative. But when ARs kill dozens, Democrats climb up on top of the caskets to denounce the horrible killing machines. Why? Because those deaths feed their narrative.
Democrats don't care if you or your children get shot. Democrats care about power, and the degree to which they care about your death is in direct proportion to their ability to exploit your death to increase their power.

Farmers and gardeners very carefully and deliberately plant their seeds, as do gun vendors very carefully and deliberately sell their guns. If you chaotically throw seeds and guns around, then yes, they will "fall" into the wrong hands. Nobody is discussing fully automatic rifles. Unless someone eroniously refers to a commonly available AR-15 or similar firearm as being a "full-auto" or "assault rifle", in which case they should be quickly, but firmly, corrected in a way that does not belittle them.
However, a semi-automatic, magazine fed rifle is entirely appropriate for the self and home defense purposes of an average citizen.

1. The right to bear arms isnt granted by the Bill of Rights, it is merely recognized and enumerated by it, as a human right. The right to bear arms exists in the same fashion now as it did then regardless of any law, bill, statute or code.
2. This human right has nothing to do with hunting, sport, or target shooting. It has to do with being able to use force on par with the government(which is coincidentally just OTHER PEOPLE. They dont know any more than you or I do about why we exist, and what lies beyond death) Why should the government decide how I defend myself and my family?
3. We need to deregulate automatic weapons, and supressors. Both have niche uses and dont make a weapon particularly more deadly. The current status of "allowed" weapons is disastrous, and absolutely counts as an infringement.
4. Force is the gold standard for humans all over the world. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or ignorant. They ability to exercise force is a HUMAN RIGHT. And should not be held in the hands of the powers that be in the government.

It's important to stress that a gun is a hard counter to force disparities of all kinds, not just those that exist between the government and it's citizens.

I think it's the last one that annoys leftists the most. Street level, direct action, mob violence is very difficult to organize when their potential victims has a firearm.
