Except the grabbers have been losing since the AWB was allowed to expire. Suck it, guns are going to be the future again.

And hey, you get to defend yourself when Trump sends the RWDS or have something when you finally incite the commie revolution the idiots from PTS want to happen.

I never though I'd see the day where this is a threat to Vermont. Proof it can happen anywhere, and proof against "lol just move".

sent a request to edit but just let us comment, google docs commenting is just so much easier than trying to tell you what to change over Sup Forums

>Suck it, guns are going to be the future again.
Coping this hard

Response to an email and fax I sent on saturday night

Thank you for reaching out regarding gun laws and school safety.

There is no doubt this is a very complex and emotional issue, with many Vermonters holding strong opinions on one side or the other. However, as recent tragedies in Florida, Las Vegas, Newtown and elsewhere—as well as the averted plot to shoot up Fair Haven High School—have demonstrated, no state is immune to the risk of extreme violence. And we must ask ourselves, “Are we truly doing everything we can to reduce the risk of violence?” (The affidavit with details of the Fair Haven plot can be read here.)

Let me be clear: I fiercely and strongly support all Constitutional rights – including the second amendment. As Governor, I also have a moral obligation and responsibility to provide for the safety of our citizens, and especially our kids. I ask myself, if we are at a point when kids are afraid to go to school and parents are afraid to put their kids on a bus, who are we?

I believe it is time to have an honest and fact-based discussion about how we can better ensure the safety and well-being of all Vermonters. That includes better identifying and treating mental health needs and other root causes of violence; determining why so many children slip through the cracks; and having an open conversation about gun safety.

Good shit, user. If you can get your friends to do the same thing, that would be even better.

To that end, I have issued a memo to the Vermont Legislature, which outlines a range of next steps to help make our communities and children safer, with a focus on reducing violence and improving school safety. There are numerous aspects of this approach, all of which must be part of this important dialogue. The memo includes recommendations to pursue:
• An immediate security assessment of all schools by Vermont State Police and public safety officials;
• $5 million in school security grants to help schools upgrade their security infrastructure;
• A “see something, say something” public service announcement campaign, with the help of the Vermont Association of Broadcasters and the Vermont Press Bureau;
• Reforms that do not infringe upon second amendment rights, including:
• A ban on “bump stocks;”
• An evaluation and improvement of the current background check process to make sure reporting requirements are adequate and being fully enforced;
• Measures to allow temporary removal of firearms in the event of serious and credible violent threats or domestic violence incidents (as determined by courts);
• A consideration of increasing the age requirement to purchase firearms to 21 with exceptions for members of the military, law enforcement, and those who have completed an accredited firearms safety course, such as the NRA course I took as a youth hunter (this would not limit possession of a firearm by anyone under 21 and it would also provide an opportunity to teach more young Vermonters about firearms and safety);
• Strengthening our mental health system, including additional inpatient services, treatment facilities, outreach workers, and healthier communities;
• The establishment of the Governor’s Violence Prevention Task Force to examine all aspects of school safety and community protection, and report back to me on or before December 1, 2018.

To be clear, this memo does not recommend taking any guns, or gun rights, away from law-abiding citizens. And it does not suggest limiting, in any way, a young Vermonter’s ability to engage in traditional recreational activities like hunting or shooting sports.

To fully comprehend my approach to this situation, I ask you to put yourself in the shoes of those parents and family members who recently lost loved ones in Florida and recognize just how close we came to an eerily similar tragedy in Fair Haven. Unfortunately, Vermont doesn’t exist in a bubble, insulated from senseless violence. I’m sure many of you have experienced a situation in your lives and where you’ve said, “That was close,” and have sworn to do things differently in the future. This is our opportunity to make sure we’re doing all we can to address the risk of gun violence and keep guns out of the hands of people who truly should not have them, while protecting the Constitutional rights of law abiding Vermonters.

I’m hopeful every Vermonter – from the most anti-gun advocates to the strongest Second Amendment supporters – will join in the responsible, civil discussion we must have about ways to reduce violence in our society and keep kids safe in our schools.

Again, thank you for reaching out.

Sincerely,

Philip B. Scott

>Nothing about 10rd limits
The one thing that gives me hope

>I ask myself, if we are at a point when kids are afraid to go to school and parents are afraid to put their kids on a bus, who are we?
A state getting less federal funding for public schools. Gotta get that money, right Scotty?
>I ask you to put yourself in the shoes of those parents and family members who recently lost loved ones in Florida and recognize just how close we came to an eerily similar tragedy in Fair Haven.
>Fuck statistics, feel things and be afraid.

I am so very sorry, Vermont. Do not comply.

I'd trade every single measure here for the right to conceal carry in school in a heartbeat

>t. real high schooler

Fuck off you defeatist shill

Wasn't Vermont the cool liberal state where they are able to have gun rights and left wing polities? Never trust the left, they will always turn their back on your rights.

I mean, if we can get away with no universal background checks, no mag limits, and just a literal hunters safety card for u21s, that is good. The removal order sounds like a death sentence for cops though.

RIP Vermont.

JUST
MOVE
BRO

bump

I actually liked Vermont too..

But it's true though, how many once free states that have been cucked, were able to undo the cucking?

And I mean to pre cucked status like no mag limits, no assault weapon bullshit, NFA ok, or waiting period removal?

>yeah I can't think of any either,

These scumbag politicians put this shit in place
>RREEEEE Vote them out! THAT'LL SHOWEM!!
>They loose the election, get a job that pays 5X the amount they were making as a politician to one of his / her donor buddies
>3 ~ 6 years later runs again, wins

Meanwhile, for you the laws have not changed and are still the same. *Cough *Cough Colorado,

Fucking prove me wrong?

>if we are at a point when kids are afraid to go to school and parents are afraid to put their kids on a bus, who are we?
we are ignorant of the facts: npr.org/2018/03/15/593831564/the-disconnect-between-perceived-danger-in-u-s-schools-and-reality

How does someone from outside Vermont help Vermont? I don't live there, I've never lived there, I've never paid taxes there, so do I basically just have to watch on anxiously and hope the Vermont anons can succeed?

Attached: 1499749850172.jpg (679x657, 92K)

>fact-based
Call him out on it and tell the fucker that he's having a knee-jerk reaction

>But it's true though, how many once free states that have been cucked, were able to undo the cucking?

I believe the answer is none. Am I right, coach?

>MILSURPDUDE BTFO
FTFY

If you think that will actually influence politics, you're more retarded than the grabbers.

As expected of /k/

There’s twice as many people living my county than all of Vermont. Who cares?

You move into a liberal town and make the NY transplants feel uncomfortable until they leave.
No joke, I know some people who moved to NH because Springfield Vermont was "too conservative"

>Let me be clear: I fiercely and strongly support all Constitutional rights – including the second amendment.
At what point do these snakes start receiving mail-bombs?

almost makes it worth it

from my count... yes none.

Fuck Vermont, they keep electing that communist fuck so they deserve to have the full "not real" socialism experience complete with gun bans and rationing of vital supplies and services.

Fax them back that they literally have some of the lowest gun crime in the state. Also tell them that they are being faggots.

It might not have a 10 round limit!!! If we could save that then I would consider that better then nothing... Still is shitty though.

You people really won't do anything to stop this until your rights are too far gone to salvage, will you?

Attached: slide_11[1].jpg (960x720, 81K)

You can't. Any intervention from an out-of-stater wouldn't been seen as legitimate.

That goes for shit like btw

>inb4 fucking BEN AND JERRY'S OF ALL THINGS starts the 2nd Civil War

Do not comply. When the time is right come to Texas where we will make our glorious final stand!

FL here
I'll try calling tomorrow. Just get ringing right now, so no messages it seems.
Hope you guys have better luck than we did.

bump

An armed revolt would need foreign assistance to succeed imo, so it's basically a deal with the devil with Russia or China.

This is why everyone says that facts don't matter. This is why everyone says that it's about taking the white mans' guns. Literally less than 10 fucking deaths and they're pushing more gun control. It's never been about saving lives.

It goes back to the senate now. Call your senators

Already did, also talked with my local senator, and for the last 3 weeks have been talking with my house rep. He’s a childhood friends and still a friend, so I annoyed him but he understood.
I can not believe this is happening. My family can trace its ancestry to be the beginning of Vermont, I was born here and this is when my children are born, this is the first time I have ever been ashamed of being a Vermonter.

But Vermont is an extremely white state with proportionally low rates of violent crime. Why pass restrictive laws when there is no issue to be addressed?

Attached: tmp_13086-1513683115207m491011814.jpg (754x1024, 100K)

same reason why NY did it after sandy hook...
>because Fuck you thats why

This is why people need to actually advocate for their rights where they are. I live in Massachusetts. People in this state generally think "well if the laws get bad enough I'll just move." People outside the state say "what are you still doing there? move out." Imagine how you'd feel if you just moved to Vermont to escape Mass's gun laws and now you're going to get fucked even harder in some ways.

Don't run away from the problem. Keep from getting chased out in the first place because the problem will always find you.

>vote for Democrats
>they pass new gun laws which is literally part of the Democratic party's official platform
>wtf? How did this happen?

Attached: 1512985194602.jpg (635x542, 15K)

Same reason companies like Youtube are banning gun stuff. They want to ride the wave of public support and money.

This shit's happening now because the powers that be previously hadn't managed to come up with such a trendy, popular anti-gun movement. If the Parkland shooting had involved a bunch of trashy retards who didn't look good on Instagram, state governments would be telling gun control supports to pound sand.

this times a million

hi fellow MAfag!

Another Masshole here: This is upsetting because I have always seen northern New England as an example of what the founders intended when they wrote the constitution. It's very sad to see Vermont fall like this.

Yeah, Vermont was like the state you'd get if Sup Forums founded it while smoking lots of weed.

Weed is for socialists

Not talking about an armed revolt m8. Just rig up some bombs to the ignitions of your anti-gun state reps' cars and watch the fireworks.

Posts like this show how gun rights will never succeed because there are too many retards behind it. If any violence is committed against gun control advocates you'd see a national ban as fast as you can blink.

Honestly this. The biggest hurdle of the pro-gun community is the retards in the pro-gun community.

As a NH user, do your fucking job VT and act as our natural NY filter. We can't handle liberal Massholes and NY on our own. There are so many librul utopias in New England that they can fuck off to CT, RI, MA, or VT if they need woods and leave NH alone.

Sometimes I stay awake a night thinking that the Trump counter reaction will push NH into a liberal politics death spiral and we'll be just as cucked as MA or CT.

Attached: 1515408783133.gif (497x373, 489K)

Also if any New England user's get depressed please visit NH and buy some liquor. I'd like to keep property taxes down. Thank you.

she's never coming back user, let it go

Soon I hope

pls no
I have been planning to move to NH for a year now.

Please come, we need everyone we can get and it's very easy to get active in politics. We have a state rep for about every 4k people. We repealed all knife laws about 10 years ago and we got constitutional carry at the start of last year, things have been trending in the right direction but progress is stalled. I'm worried that if Sununu loses and we get Dem majorities in the legislature those gains could be reversed. There are a decent number of fudd Dems but they cannot be relied upon.

Although they are sperglords the Free State Project nutjobs are excellent at repelling liberals and getting others to consider moving out of state.

NH has complained about a mythical MA NY wherever else the fuck boogeyman for years and years, fix your own shit and stop blaming others

BURLINGTARDS RUINED AN ENTIRE STATE

Is this what being a New Yorker is like?

Attached: 1491530493169.jpg (225x225, 6K)

They're really toning down the mag-ban part of the bill, I have a feeling that's going to get merc'd.

Vermont lads, please don't let them get you too. I live in NJ and was born into this shit and have no hope of fighting against it, but they don't have you yet.

Attached: 1508143771607.jpg (1138x860, 261K)

Hey at least they replied, I emailed Jerry Brown about how shitty the Sanctuary State thing was bullshit, and he never replied, I was as polite as I could possibly be

Live free or die NH bro. We'll never let ourselves get cucked to the same level as MA or CT.

I went to a gun shop in Vermont and happened to show up when Phil Scott was there campaigning. Ended up shooting some demo guns with the guy. Seems pretty chill, I'm not too worried.

Luh fucking mao it passed and Scott says he supports the magazine ban.
RIP in pieces Phil Scott's job: 2016-2018

These are the posts that keep me coming back here.

We can't let this state die like the rest. Get involved with the local authorities and voice your concerns, let them know that we want to remain as we are. Even though it was proven during the presidential election that nh is indecisive as shit, we still hold to tradition and personal liberty more than many other states. Let them know that we have a voice

How do gun laws even work in Vermont? I thought it was legally impossible for the state to pass any gun laws due to their case law?

They look like any other decade's trashy retards.
