No maniac pixie dream girl that saved the MC (Misaki). Just an ideal raven haired maiden to look forward to.
Non conventional animation style and likable characters
NHK is severely overrated. It's not that interesting.
Misaki wasn't a pixie dream girl nor saved the MC. Akashi is much more idealized.
It's nothing but a groundless statement
Tatami Galaxy is better directed and executed in general but I found I was able to relate better with the likes of Satou, Misaki and Yamazaki than Akashi, Ozu and the MC.
That's why I was able to enjoy Tatami Galaxy in a more straightforwad way while NHK got me genuinely emotionally invested despite it's exaggerated characterisation at times, and it's something that has stayed with me for longer than Tatami Galaxy.
This and NHK's OST blows Tatami Galaxy out of the water.
>NHK's OST blows Tatami Galaxy out of the water.
you're joking, right?

They are totally different series with just a similar theme. NHK is crude, it could be a documentary and it would be 100% believable, it's a series that's not scared of punching you in the guts with the bare reality of life, it's not scared to show the lowest lows in all their ugliness. There aren't any easy solutions or escapes, that helping hand conveniently irrupting to save you will only drag you down, you have to accept this shitty world, you have to learn how to live in it.
Meanwhile Tatami's charm comes entirely from its narrative and visuals, the story is way more fictionalized, the events are interesting and meaningful, even the main character is just an icon, without even a name or a solid background, he's an archetype.
Honestly I prefered the latter but yeah NHK is something really rare in the anime industry.
Orchestral music does nothing for me.
I get goosebumps just from listening to the initial 2 seconds of this.

Why do you think so?
Masaki Yuasa's magic touch.
Penguin Huawei anime when?
>Akashi is much more idealized
Because that's her point. She has no incidence in Watashi's life until the very end. Unlike Misaki who comes to whack Satou's daily routine.
As much as I liked Uchouten, Otome, and TTG, I'd like to see someone else take one of his works on. I think any more from Yuasa or PA would feel samey.
>le artsy farsty faggotry
>Orchestral music does nothing for me.
Tasteless philistine
Are you going to grow out of your shitmusic phase?
Sorry grandpa.
>Implying that Misaki was a pixie dream girl.
Why the hell do people keep saying this? The entire point of Misaki even existing is to disprove this notion. Satou didn’t quit being a Hikikomori because of her help, it was because his mom cut off his living fund. Misaki even ADMITS in the end that she only wanted to help Satou because she wanted to make herself feel needed because she hated herself.
Yamazaki > Oz
I agree, but NHK opening was boss tho have to admit

Watched Ping Pong and really liked it.
Is Tatami just a 2deep4u meme or actually good
The whole message is as simple as possible
I would say, it's Tatami being 2deep4u is a meme
I supposed it, then I'll blame all the pretentious fucks saying it's a super complex psychological thriller or whatever.
People usually like and want a happy and optimisitc ending, it gives them hope for their own lives. NHK's ending provided neither hope nor happiness, it just makes you feel even emptier because happiness was never achieved despite satou resolving his shut in tendency.
It was written by an actual author and not a hack NEET looking for pity.
I thought NHK was all over the place. It gives a pretty bad deoiction of depression and hikkikomoris too.
I have to agree with this.
Mainly the ending.
I can bet you a fucking bullet in the head that those words have never been said by someone who have seen TTG.
Some people simply can't handle the artstyle so they call it 2deep
NHK is overrated (cuz muh neetdom) and boring. Tatami Galaxy isn't boring thanks to its distinct visual style and really good pacing.
NHK was incredibly unrealistic and the characters weren’t charismatic.
Good thing you don't speak spic, I could show you one video or two.
