Jotaro was better in parts 4 & 6 though. The mentor role is more suited to his nature, in part 3 he comes across as a 1 dimensional edgelord.

I like all Jotaros. I have to admit his Part 4 is the best one but I still really like the subtlety of Part 3 Jotaro. It takes a bit more analysis to better find out his personality (body language, words, etc) and it was fun to me, so I definitely like him a lot.

It's not like she has any competition in Jojo.

Considering these threads, this is probably an unpopular opinion, but my favorite is Stone Ocean. Araki said that he felt he reached his peak creativity in it and it shows. A lot more thought was done in creating the themes, the protagonist, the villain and the Stands. This was the most bizarre part for me and I found every fight exciting, and the Guess fight hooked me from the get-go. Everyone likes to say that "everyone died" in the end but if you read it carefully that wasn't even the case - no one truly died, their souls just moved to the next dimension. Irene is still Jolyne with a different history, but same soul. I just thought the part was rather unique.

On a sidenote I also really liked how Jolyne has the weakest Stand of all the Stand user JoJos, but it was still versatile thus allowing for more creative uses and fights.

Because 1-4 were produced back-to-back in rapid succession with no breaks in production. They want to do other stuff before committing to another 4 Parts worth of content, though they have said they really want to do 5 onwards they just need a break. 113 episodes in 4 years is a lot, I’d rather they took their time rather than getting burned out and producing a shit adaptation. Just read the manga if you haven’t.

When's it get good? Other than some of the early chapters and Johnny's legend (latest part I read), it has been mediocre, coming from someone who loves almost every Part.

People who really liked Part 4 will also like Part 8. The mystery hooks you in as well, it's even better than Part 4.

Once the architect shows up. So a couple of chapters from where you’re up to. I don’t think 20~ chapters is enough to get a feel for a Part except maybe 1 and 2 for their length. I found the beginning of JJL pretty boring but it’s become my favourite Part quite rapidly. It’s the most consistent in terms of quality and surprisingly has a lot of thought put into it.

Well, Part 4's my second favourite Part, after Steel Ball Run, and JoJolion hasn't managed to keep me interested.

Most of the enemy Stands in Part 3 are based on monsters and villains from horror movies and the series as a whole is kind of thriller/suspense.

A lot of people consider it too different, and too bizarre. Some, including a friend of mine, don't like it because of the lack of buff men and fistfights (he isn't a Hamon-fag, but a huge Part 3 fan). I think its uniqueness is part of what makes it great, as well as its story and character development, and hype scenes.

It’s possible that’s Tom’s motivation but we don’t know yet. It was what Damo and Yotsuyu were planning so I don’t doubt that Tom and his group are pulling something similar.

That's the level of hype I was at reading Steel Ball Run. Numerous Parts have got me to yelling levels (Jotaro's finger twitch, Crazy Diamond is Unbreakable, Jolyne, Johnny's (major spoiler) finger twitch and many other scenes, including Scary Monsters), it's simply a great series.

I'm a huge Part 3 fan, but I heavily enjoyed Part 6. I definitely agree with you though. I thought it was very original which really kept me hooked.
