This is such a blatant and obvious rip off, how did he not get sued for plagiarism?

Also, shinsekai yori is a massive waste of potential.

All other things aside, even if it was a straight copy, Brave New World is in the public domain, as long as you're outside the United States.

>sued for plagiarism
>80+ year novel

>From the New World
>Brave New world
It never downed on me until now exactly the same the two are.

they also stole that song from the start of the anime, the go-home one

>anime about the world collapsing because of people with psychic powers
>somehow stole its ideas from a book that has nothing in common except some themes about humanity

Kill yourself.

this is how you actually find a pleb who's never read brave new world. Which of the themes in brave new world actually carry over?

Can we forgot about episode 8 for a moment, what kind of ammunition even is there aside from it. You guys forget it started with some dude spouting shakespeare in the jungle or what have you. And or drugs and sex.

While OP is being a faggot as usual, just greentexting "the similarities are only minor points of the anime, not major ones" won't exactly win you a debate, either.

Soma and Cantra are basically the same thing.
Soma is basically thought control magic.

I don't remember the anime having a dissatisfied half-botched elite seeking simultaneously a more meaningful life and a more pleasure adopting a half-elite wild child from the human reservation in order to tout them around like a freakshow and use that as a means to become popular and loved, only to become more frustrated as they discover along with the wildchild that truly elite people in this society really are incapable of love, much to the horror of the wildchild; who takes their own life and plants a seed of self-destruction in the elite as they now see self-destruction as the latest novelty to amuse themselves with, and meanwhile the botched-elite gets banished to intellectual island with all the other troublemakers where they'll be forced to live with the daily confrontation that despite their delf-perceptipn they were never truly an intellectual themself just a depressed ugly nerd still as vapid and hedonistic as the fellow elite they spent their life both mocking and envying.

Did you even read the book?

>I don't remember the anime having a dissatisfied half-botched elite seeking simultaneously a more meaningful life and a more pleasure adopting a half-elite wild child from the human reservation
You don't? Because that's literally Squealer.

Hah. Rekt.

>adds "lesbian" characters just for them both to get dicked straight letter
>the "gayer" one also gets raped, mind broken, turned into human live stock, and has her former "lesbian" "lover" blame her for everything that that went wrong in the series
Shit like this makes me physically ill.

Have you even read BNW

>Humanity organized in a caste system
>People kept infatilized to avoid conflict
>Anything unique to BNW

Is that the only dystopian novel you've read, OP?

Multiple other people tried this same argument, in this very short thread, and they were all wrong.

Try something more than "nuh uuuuh".

Thank you for the confirmation of consensus.

Thanks for being dumber than a 5th grader.

We know you haven't read it dude, you're busted.

was there a scene of 8-year-olds nervously trying to fug?

Is this /lit/ leaking? Take your shitty spooks to your shitty pseudo-intellectual elitist-wannabe board. Next time you visit you might also read a book or two in advance - instead of buying the most expensive hard cover edition at Barnes & Noble, reading the summary on Wikipedia and instantly deciding you are a major literary critic.

Well, the lower classes in BNW are technically children since they get accelerated growth, and they fuck all the time.

>gets blown the fuck out
>is literally retarded
>refusing to stop replying because he's trying to save face

Making out, not fug. And they were maybe...12?

In BNW or FtNW?
Because in FtNW they most certainly do fuck.

Shut up, faggot

You know a little too much about /lit/, user

Why are you so upset because you are told to conduct conversation like a normal person?

Same. Gives me some kind of rigor mortis in my pants.

They aren't anything alike period, SSY is directly inspired by Animal Farm (in Squealer) and BNW is a terribly shitty book even in the dystopian genre. The closest books to SSY are The Broken Earth Trilogy by NKJ and they are probably inspired by SSY not the other way around.

If you want good dystopian fiction as an intro try The Brave New World anthology. Unlike the actual shitty book it's named after, the stories are actually good, especially:
"Repent Harlequin, Said the Ticktockman
O Happy Day!
Billennium
The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas
The Cull
The Minority Report
Harrison Bergeron

SSY is a little similar to the Doomed City by the Strugatsky brothers once they they go on their journey, it's a good mindfuck albeit based on the Soviet experience.

It's still a good place to fish for eBook downloads if nothing else.

The Strugatsky brothers are really underappreciated as SciFi authors. I am really glad to see some one else read their stuff.

>everything dystopian is exactly the same

My favourite is the Time Wanderers. My second favourite is Hard to Be a God. Third is Roadside Picnic. They have a unique way of writing and like PKD and Lem, they are amongst my favourite authors.

And Dvorak composed a New World Symphony, it all falls in place!
Even among retards you and OP are still exceptionally stupid.

> It's current year!
I am so sorry LGBT characters don't have double the plot armor compare to straight characters in fiction, as would probably like. Did you even watch the show? There are perfectly sound narrative reasons for all the things you said working out the way they did.

I've already shared my method for infinite books

squealer did NOTHING wrong

If you think this is a rip off you haven't been watching anime for long. Off the top of my head Blade Dance is a blatant copy paste of Zero no Tsukaima, just with some names changed, and that was one of the biggest series the year it released.

The reason pseudos push BNW over 1984 is because they secretly HATE Orwell for his open, public dislike of Britain's snobbish, self-hating cultural elite.

Those are all great. I also like Beetle in the Anthill.

Or maybe because Orwell was surprisingly socialist. Not a very radical one and very much opposed to communism, sure, but still one nonetheless. Really makes you think, eh?

You clearly don't under stand what the second person you're replying to is saying.

Most pseudointelectuals are socialists

Did anyone else hate Squealer? He's just a groveling rat, and the only reason he was able to get away with so much was because Group One was full of naive children.

Dude, are you from Poland that you know Lem?

Name a single thing that FtNW actually does different than BNW.

You don't have to be from Poland to know one of the most famous and influential sci-fi writers of all time.

Everyone from the Post Soviet Union territories know Lem, since he was one of the few sci-fi authors that were allowed and widely available.

It's just me or did Dvorak copy enitre sections of Beethoven's 9nth symphony for his own 9nth symphony?

Psychic powers

I'm not

See

I don't get it. Everything he said was true.

Cute girls.

Thanks for reminding me to never read Brave New World because this anime is fucking boring.

>sluts
>degenerates
>cute
Nah.

Solaris was a great book that was shilled on /lit/ a while ago, I was pleasantly surprised. It was very Evangelion-esque

Solaris is low tier Lem but middle tier Tarkovsky.

I need to save the rest.

how the fuck is soma the same as cantus?
It's just a mind-altering drug, it doesn't let anyone taking it to single-handedly genocide another caste or warp their genome. There's nothing like the feedback response in BNW, that is the mechanic that serves the same purpose as soma. Cantus on the other hand is what gives them their longevity, disease absent lives and protection against any aggression.
And to add couple different things to the list, World-state doesn't use natural humans as their slaves, concealing history to make them appear not what they are. They don't genetically engineer killer cats to take care of children who can't control their powers or try to go against the rules.

It's a "things" that does whatever the plot demands.

...

Wasn't BNW a big ripoff of something else?

Everything from the US that was made after the creation of Mickey Mouse is under copyright.

But all characters are bi.

ALL of them.

>M2ptyEI.gif
go back there

There's a reason lesbian is in quotation marks.

I think we can all agree that the anime was better than the book though
