SS is a pretty damn good adaptation of the various routes the VN has. Only one anime route is unarguably worse than the VN route.
Definitely give it a watch if you're interested.
Seeing as we still don't know when the VN translation script will be finalized you've got nothing to lose.

If you do enjoy it then just know that there's drama cds, manga, 4koma manga, OVA specials, and an anime original second season awaiting you.
SS+ may be anime original, but it sure as hell isn't bad.
