Competition

People couldn't accept that MC is a flawed character.

Art looks like shit, MC is a wimp, female MC acts like a bitch.

>muh art

this

I liked it

who knows?

it's kinda boring. I only read it because it's there, but I don't feel any hype for it. RxL actually has me looking forward to every next chapter.

I honestly just want MS to pick Jagaaaaaan back up. Also, Mujirushi a shit.

Yeah, in a magazine aimed at children you can't survive with pretentious shit art. Children don't know what that is, they just want flashy, good looking fights and Full Drive doesn't have that.

Why do sportfags have some weird obsession with pingpong of all things?

>Art looks like shit
really?
It doesn't look there's much effort put into it but it still looks appealing which is more than you can say about half of jump's current titles.

>tfw MC is one trick pony thrown into a world where people has multiple tricks up their sleeves
I like the setting.

Boring MC, boring characters.

So basically the opposite of shakunetsu. No wonder it's shit

Name one sport anime where the MC is a one trick pony and people actually thought it was good.

Eyeshield 21.

But I read it for Hiruma's shit.

If you want to watch accurate moves just go watch real table tennis. If you take away the accurate moves it has nothing. It doesn't even have that pumped/hype feeling that sport shounens usually do well. Hell even shakunetsu does that better.

I loved that series it was a lot of fun

Yes?

Just read Takkoku if u dont want to read ping pong

Because even no athletic people can play it so it’s relatable.

Its the cheap version of the most patrician sport, ofc its popular with anons who think they are smarter than normalfags.

Fucking love Tennis

>and accurate moves
That's where it went wrong.

It's easy to learn, it's cheap, it's entertaining to watch and because on higher levels it's fast as fuck.

Actual DoA, or just unpopular at the moment? First chapter seems alright, but if it's cancelled I'll pull out now

ranked last on the most recent jump poll. its ded jim

Damn. I like the MC, it's rare that you get one with confidence

Shakunetsu is technically the same though, all characters have a specialty like Agari's loop drive (same as this MC), Hanabi fast returns (like main girl here), Hokuto's calculations and Munemune power smashes.

Though their power ups are tipically increasing their movesets (like Agari's pinpoint accurate backhand smash and 100% Agari forehand smash) or doubling down on their skills (like Kururi spin).

Maybe the problem is that this one seems like they are just explaining anime ping pong to the audience instead of actually putting their souls in every match like Shakunetsu. Maybe a tourney arc will be better.

Who /actually plays table tennis/ here?

No backgrounds most of the time
Generic genius-with-a-flaw-mc
Generic fujoshit-enemies
Looks lifeless and barebone.
Straight up boring.

What did he do here?
He's left handed, looks like a backhand chop given the angle of the racket but the ball trajectory looks weird

I think it's a chop, and he's recovering his stance and moving back up already

Works because it's a bunch of one trick ponies equaling a badass team in summation.

>Maybe the problem is that this one seems like they are just explaining anime ping pong to the audience instead of actually putting their souls in every match like Shakunetsu
Pretty much. It tries to be serious without the good writing, and as a result it just ends up being soulless and generic.
Shakunetsu embraced the dumbness which made for hype matches and characters that felt like they genuinely love the sport. And since it's dumb, the well written parts come off as a good surprise.

Or see it like that if you want, Full Drive tried to go for something big and didn't deliver anything while Shakunetsu didn't go for much but delivered beyond all expectations.

Terrible characters.
No plot.
The actual ping-pong matches look like fucking shit.

Found it
Nevermind, it's a lob.
How the fuck did he lob with that stance and that racket angle.

what the fuck is her problem?

Invasive dogs.

Me but I’m shit.

Once I walked by a table on the street. A girl and a guy were playing, and I asked if I could hit a few rallies. Then I proceeded to get totally wrecked by the guy. I'll never forget the look of disdain she gave me as I handed her back the bat.

what the fuck

damn

This girl really has issues.

I'm going to win Nationals.

>quads
Guess it's true

great panel

10/10 inking

>guys instead of cute girls
>one-note, uninspired characters
>8 chapters in and there's no real end goal established
>no major conflict
>action looks like shit half the time
There is nothing really going for this manga. It's slow, boring, and the stakes are painfully low.

Only in highschool because it was the only thing available that was not soccer. But I was so bad I think even Ace would be able to beat me.

Considering Ace got to prefectural quarter finals and beat the second best player of a team that went to the japanese nationals it's hard to think you'd get even a point against her.

This. I would honestly love for a high stakes ping-pong manga. Like underground ping-pong with huge amounts of money on the line. Basically Akagi, but with ping-pong

You wouldn't be able to do mindgames and stuff but I can see potential with the characters' hands shaking from fear and the psychological fight aspect.
Shit I want this too now.
