Why do I feel like I'm watching the same story over and over again?

Because battle shounen is just rinse and repeat: the genre.

Nen ain’t the same you faggot spic

Ki and Nen are pretty similar, but Haki's more of a technique.

It's called an energy system because authors now that although the concept of powers is the same, so much variety of fights can be written from them unless you're watching something shit like Bleach or DBZ..

Also, which series uses Cosmos?

What about 「R E S O L V E」?

Saint Seiya.

Los Caballeros Del Zodiaco

>including haki in

At least you didn't lump in stands together

>hasn't watched Saint Seiya
>thinks his opinion on shonen is relevant

One Piece autists should be permabanned

Because a lot of these types of powers are based on eastern spirituality and the concept of spiritual energy and how it can be controlled through training and meditation.

It's basically like how you see Dragons in a lot of fantasy series and they're generally all fundamentally similar in concept. It's because they all stem from the same basic mythology about giant fucking lizards that breathe fire and have magic powers.

You're forgetting
>Oxygen

Only spics and Italians gives a shit about Saint Seiya.

...

>series share thing so their all the same
surely you understand how stupid this sounds

i miss the other one

the shounen genre is about people powering up and overcoming their limits, its like when you were a little kid and you felt like you could do anything if you truly believed just taken to an extreme. As you get older and realize your pathetic self and your limitations the genre becomes less appealing.

The french too

>YWN see wolf fang fist again because all fighting has devolved into ki spam

Asian “hidden power” fetish combined with “little guy beats up big guy” power fantasy=“energy” that can justify twink little fuckbois and cute girls being demigods with insane speed, power, and durability.

Bleach had an interesting "system", it just didn't have an author capable of getting the most out of it, which is also something you can say in general about Bleach.

This. OP is a fake-ass weeb. You'll see this topic a lot in martial arts and Eastern medicine

So is sienen

They are all techniques

Uhhhhh

They're all based off the same asian concept, but I think they're implemented pretty differently from each other. Haki has pretty specific uses, and Nen has strict rules for example. I guess Dragon Ball's Ki, Naruto's Chakra, and YYH Spirit Energy are pretty similar, but the way they are used is different in all those series. Though towards the end I guess Naruto did kind of turn into a light show like DBZ.

F U C K I N G T H I S

Jesus, are people really this fucking retarded?

To be fair Chakra, Haki and Nen are hardly the same thing as the other energy equivalents.

>Though towards the end I guess Naruto did kind of turn into a light show like DBZ.

Did it really?

In DB ki allowed people to grow arms, copy themselves, use psychic powers and lightning. Its really just up to the author.

Yep, after they win against the zombies and their leader, the alien queen arrives, so Naruto and Sasuke get their alien power up, defeat her and then fight each other

That was pretty fucking good.

I love the parts in those kinds of anime when they have to figure out what kind of power they have

>no hamon

you disappoint me

because you started paying attention

All Shonen are about 50% the same plot

I'll never forgive Oda for turning every future battle into "my haki is stronger than urs hurr durr" with the introduction of this bullshit

DB's Ki, Bleach energy etc correspond to everything from special techniques to punching power and resilence.

Chakra is basically mana, corresponding with the amount of special techniques one can produce before exhaustion.

Haki is a spirit energy that one can utilize to perform some very particular things - prediction, hardening and stunning literally whos.

Possessing Nen allows you to design and use abilities that drain your stamina/life force.

>A slice of life uguu kawaii romance story has better boxing than a manga dedicated to boxing
Why is this allowed?

Hola, Pablo.

No. Not really. For exemple, Vergo and Smoker kept rumbling about how their superior haki/sea stone will negate Law's powers, yet both of them lost to him while relying on his fruit. And Law lost to Doffy even if he had the superior haki at that moment because the later had intel on how Law's fruit work.
The only time the "my haki is stronger than yours so I win" happened when Zoro cut Pica down. And even then, he got help from that dude in the alliance (Orlmbus or something) to make Pica unable to use his fruit.
So, no. The DFs are still most important thing. And the WCI arc proves it. Haki is just another variable in fight like CO techniques, other fighting styles, weapons of choice...

CP techniques*

>Why do I feel like I'm watching the same story over and over again?
Because that's exactly what you're doing.

No matter how much you try to rationalize it it all ends up being the same. Ki can form anything from magic like moves to power ups. Chakra is the same only broken down with chakra points which hold elemental properties, but still preform what Ki can perform.
If ki is the grandfather of shonen battles then Nen is its hyperactive autistic son. It's broken down in such a way that the average person wouldn't give a shit how it works. Still Nen, Ki, spirit, cosmos, all of it rely on stamina. They all seem to do the same things but haki. Haki seems allows to just power up things and bypass crazy abilities. No he didn't, his system was awful. He didn't know what to do with it and he destroyed his own manga because of it.

This is a really generic chart, you could probably apply this shit to anything.

kek'd

Base Goku is truly beautiful.

Because you are retarded.

...Child Porn techniques?

Ki isn't the only source of special powers in DB though. Like, there are psychic powers as you said, magic, and some alien races just have inherent special abilities. Like Namekians being able to regenerate, or Tien being able to create additional body parts, or entirely new bodies all together. Which may be because he's a goddamn Triclops.

It's worth mentioning that in the manga, Tien is the only one who uses the multiform technique. At least, as far as I can recall.

That pic is literally the general structure of 99% of the all stories in the world, this is the type of stuff you are taught in English class
That chart is on the same level as the hero of a thousand faces
You might has well be saying all shounen have the same plot because they all have protagonists and antagonists

Ss is pretty big in europe too.

>Bleach had an interesting "system"
What was interesting about it?

Reiatsu isn't the same as strength, not by a long shot. It's not even used in martial arts, other than the special ability Yoruichi developed. It does however negate less dense reiatsu, making attacks and techniques useless against an overpowering foe. It's not just a matter of higher number vs lower number though, since it can still be condensed to increase the density in the form of a blade for example.

It's not even something restricted to a few, but an innate power everyone forms in their heart. Some just are stronger.

spics should be banned
