I've watched a lot of romance shows since Toradora trying to chase the feeling it gave me. I think a lot of others aren't as good because they either focus too much on the couple and run out of interesting plot (Tsuki ga Kirei) or they cocktease the romance to the point of frustration (Kimi ni Todoke, Lovely Complex).

Toradora struck a balance in that it was a romance show with other stuff and characters going on that were worth caring about.

The characters are easily the strongest part about Toradora, and the love story that slowly develops through them is just done so well.

I take offense to that. Most generic romance movies/most generic rom coms have etter plots that torafora.
