The idea AND execution were actually top tier, and considering current Toei they really outdid themselves back then. They even avoided the common mistake of "new transformation = instant win" one would expect from them by watching the movies. Once Goku went SSJ4 he pummelled Baby for a short while but quickly met his match. I also enjoyed how it was used in a similar fashion to current SSB; there were no further transformations, SSJ4 was used against all the major villains in GT.

I'm not a fan of the red fur. It would look a lot better if it were the same color as Vegito's hair. Otherwise, the idea and artwork are pretty great.

Great concept, I liked the super saiyan´+giant monkey mode+mantaining control=SSJ4. Only thing I'd change is removing the eyeliner and changing the body fur's color.

Conceptwise similar in quality to SSGod, I have no opinion which is better.

Super Cyan is a pile of shit though. That Dragon Quest manga adaptation had it as parody, and now it's a genuine thing.

It's retarded. It could be decent with some small adjustments though, like getting rid of the eyeliner and changing the fur color to brown or something.

Never liked GT but always thought SSJ4 was pretty good due to the tie in back to great ape form which was forgotten the second everyone could go SSJ and a hell of a lot better than the colour swaps we got for Super.

Super adds a fuckton of lore a fuckton of characters that are now deep into Dragon Ball like Beerus Whis Zeno adds new transformations that aren't only power boosts (UI) and has arcs that aren't only big bad wants to destroy everything we have to beat him.

Sorry but it's design process is completely bankrupt compared to GT and the new transformations are a joke.

Super has more shit that is copy-paste compared to GT but it never hits the same lows as GT in terms of design (Super 17, Omega Shenron and his 1000 spikes, middle age crisis Vegeta etc.). The worst ones in Super are the sticks called U6 sayians but even they were redeemed a bit with Kefla

It was the worst but I also think SSJ3 is shit.

Really like its look, but I would prefer it was a way of truly mastering the oozaru form, like the next level after remaining in control of it rather than turning into a berserking beast, instead of going through super saiyan and gold oozaru form first to become super sayian 4.
Like a power boost that regular, non-super saiyans could use to become stronger,. That way, other fighters can keep up with like goku and vegeta, without having to cheapen the legendary super saiyan form by giving it to everyone.
Of course that can then lead to giving the form to both goku and vegeta anyway on top of their super saiyan powers, but that's a problem with power-creep in dbz as a whole, not the form itself.

SSG and SSB are an embarrassment to the franchise. They're literally just lazy palette swaps. They were shoehorned exclusively to cash in two very shitty movies.

Goku actually grows up into a decent adult(child) in GT. Vegeta is more developed as a father. Gohan grew up to be a decent father. Trunks/Goten fooling around as teenagers. Pan is learning how it feels to be a child.

I still believe the only reason and I mean the ONLY reason to hate GT is because it wasn't aired in America when you were growing up. GT is without a doubt the better than Super by miles given the direction Super went. I had hopes for Super, hopes that never came to fruitation.

Not only that but the story is miles ahead of Super's. Consequences for the cast constantly using the Dragon Balls as a get-out-of-jail-free card and it partially resets Goku so that instead of yet another Strongest Being In The Universe being the threat he fights weaker opponents than before which still pose a threat. This in contrast to the overused "Fight people from a parallel dimension" bullshit that Super does. It does it poorly as well. Toriyama couldn't even bother to do interesting stuff like fucking Multiverse did and explore fun what-if scenarios, he just used it to create a brand new cast and oh my god, this guy's the Strongest Being In The MULTIVERSE, holy balls! It's all just so much lazier and objectively worse than GT's writing.

This. Besides, GT was made continuing Takao Koyama's POV instead of Toriyama's. Iirc, most of GT's arcs were rehashes from some movies.

Just fyi: Aya Matsui, the headwriter, was Koyama's allumni, so a lot of his writing details were used in GT's conceptualization (Goku being less knight templar and more Clark Kakakent bc of muh kids needing a more decent role model, Vegeta being a lot edgier, villains on steroids, classical shonen formula, predictability)

Goku was never supposed to grow into a better adult because his character in the manga is a self centered manchild who only looks for battles to satisfy his most selfish desires, not a righteous hero of justice like GT did with him, Vegeta was never supposed to be an edgy middle aged man stuck up into an eternal mid age crisis, but a heavily softened up saiyajin after having a family and realizing he'll never surpass Goku.

Vegeta's leather pants will never not be shit. I liked the general idea behind the form, but not the form itself.

No issues with it. I didn't only enjoy it, I like the connection to Wukong and Oozaru. The colors don't bother me and especially the magic clothes claim wasn't even and is not an argument. Yet Gotenks gets a pass for the clothes.

The magic pants and the pink fur drag it down, but it’s still leaps and bounds ahead of God Ki recolors.

This seems more like what god should've been. There's the red fur and it looks nothing like Super Saiyan.

SS, SS2, and SS4 are the only good ones. SS2 as it seemed to be originally conceived worked as a "perfected Super Saiyan" of sorts. My only issue was that it was yet again just triggered by rage. But I liked that part of the journey was becoming being adapted to SS.
SS3 ruined the idea of Super Saiyans for making numbered transformations even a thing. Lost all meaning besides being a gimmick. DBS SS forms are similar garbage.
SS4 was a good tie in with the earlier ape transformation. In my ideal world, there are only Super Saiyans, people who have mastered the Super Saiyan form, and a Super Saiyan/Ape hybrid form.

Imagine a world where SSJ2 was the final transformation and Vegeta who has refused to fight anymore after the Cell saga had to become a mentor to Gohan, only having to come back and fight against whatever major threat appeared
