Dude, fuck martial arts. Just do manual labor until you're strong enough to brute-force your way through every fight

Is this the exact point where Dragon Ball turned to shit?

Later Goku trained with real martial artist master

he only did that before he taught them how to fight. it's also the same thing kamogawa did for ippo, and all might for deku. there is literally nothing wrong with that if you've been to a course or boxing gym. it's the most realistic thing in that series, i just rewatched it last month

>he only did that before he taught them how to fight
But he literally didn't. That's the joke.

he does teach them how to fight but most of the time it's implied after they've trained. i literally just rewatched the entire series and finished it 9 days ago

What do you think real martial arts training is? They won't teach you fucking punch 1 until they're confident you won't break your spine trying to keep up

Could you show me exactly where it's implied that he taught them actual technique and sparred with them?

when they get the turtle shells, when he teaches them the kamehameha, and when krillin and goku fight on the island

>turtle shells
not fighting
>teaches them the kamehameha
he never does this, they just copy it from him

>not fighting

Weight and fitness training is a important part of any martial arts syllabus.

>he never does this, they just copy it from him

Which is how you'll spend the bulk of your time doing kicks

Goku and Krillin both had previous experience so he just made them stronger to allow their bodies to produce more ki.

You should read up on Bruce Lee. Hainvg your body be in the best condition possible, and improving your strength and flexibility is key to getting better at martial arts. Technique is good but you need the physical strength to put the power behind your attacks.

No, that was really cool part.

>nu male thinks real martial artists don't dedicate most of their time to improving their body
You are a special breed of retarded.

B-but muh speshul techniques that let me beat up Big Guys!

Dragon Ball was mediocre until Tenshinhan

Roshi's style was all about raw power and speed. His kamehameha is the natural culmination of this. It's not a fancy technique by any means, it's simply focusing all your power into one spot and then releasing it. So when it comes to teaching others, all he knows is physical training. I think that's part of the reason why he was so reluctant to train people at first, because a) many martial artist would expect the training to revolve around learning how to fight and b) most wouldn't have the patience or endurance to go through with it. Technique came secondary and Roshi gave his students the freedom to come up with whatever fighting style would best suit them.

Thanks for reminding me best girl exists.

>brute-force your way through every fight
You are missing the point of the training, you have much to learn still. Training is supposed to build your foundation as martial artist you can't just rely on raw strength you'd be to uncoordinated an easily outwitted in battle by some who is better skilled than you.

Roshi believed that technique would only matter if two people were within the same ballpark of strength and speed. Strength and speed weren't the entirety of his training method.

It's almost like we watch martial arts films/cartoons to see things that can't be done in real life.
Even in more grounded stuff, like Ippo, there's some ridiculous shit.

These clips should be one scene together.

>he can't dodge with the Dempsey Roll as fast as Ippo
I bet, you'd even get beaten up by fat Nao.

>using bruce lee as an example
didn't the faggot die from a painkiller ?

Almost all the dragon ball masters and mentors are fucking shit whose idea of improving fighters is making them go through physical powertraining and call it a day. Only Kaioh sama ever bothered to actually do like a real master and teach techniques, and I guess Tenshinhan's master counts too as both he and his gay midget shared several of their techniques, which implies they got taught by somebody off screen rather than being self-taught like pretty much every turtle school student ever

Crane school was an actual martial arts school, that's why Tien was the best fighter in the tournament and that's why he deserved to win.

what could've been...

allergic reaction to the tranquilizer of a painkiller med. Ip Man, bruce's teacher died of throat cancer. It's almost like no amount of training can stop illnesses and allergies.

Zfag who only watched DB series for muh fights and deaths detected.

Nah that was Raditz.

The Sayian saga is peak Dragon Ball though.

peak of shit. Only good part of DB is current Tournament of Power.

Oh what do we have here a new cancerous Tripfag?

This

But people like this shit in Karate Kid.
