Winter 2018

Are you exited? Winter season will be either a historical season for anime or disappointment of epic proportions.

Basilisk! .. ok, no one is excited about that one. The few fags that watched original still dont expect anything fromit.

Beatless - Guilty Crown and Franxx killer oftheseason.

Card Captor Sakura - i`d say its unneeded reboot, but given the Dragonball threads on Sup Forums will not be surprised if it actually will be popular

Citrus - anti yuri anime and delicious /u/ tears and a lot of shitposting

Franxx - new Aniplexx "blockbuste", so expect something between QUALITY CODE and RE:Creators, with Trigger`s used for markeeting

Death March - sol of the season

Fate/Extra - its always great ot have reason to shit on Shaft in actual season

Gakuen Babysitters - goodshow no one will watch since it looks fujo (and it is)

Hakumei to Mikochi - something for Abyss fags to migrate to

Ito Junji - better than Devilman, but still shit since they`ll not dare to adapt the true Ito bizzare/gore

Takagi-san - biggest flop since Jitsu Wa

Killing Bites - undisputed trainwreck of the season

Koi wa Ameagari no You ni - show you`ll forgot about around episode 2 and contributing to inevitable WIT bankrupcy

Kokkoku - show for smart people like me

Colors - Ichigo Mashimaro!

Overlord - lizard porn and dead show since Death March and ShildBro airs same season

Pop Team Epic - might actually be epic

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ Nan 2 - AOTS

Violet Evergarden - AOTY

>Death March - sol of the season
This is nothing more than bland haremshit
The SoL of the season is going to be Mitsuboshi Colors

>Death March - sol of the season
Did you mean Mitsuboshi Colors?

Mitsuboshi Colors is not sol, but gag comedy.

Death March on otherhand is proper sol about lolis travelling, eating tasty food and other types of comfiness.

>exited
no i am enter

>Winter season will be either a historical season for anime or disappointment of epic proportions.
What makes it a potential historical season?

>Violet Evergarden - AOTY
(You)

no anime is fucking dead

你笨了,回去做作業。你怎麼嘲笑這個爺爺! 你是一千年太年輕了。

No Ramen? Sup Forumsnons don't care about it?

Any comedy can be called SoL unless it's an endless stream of comedy skits like Aho Girl

You forgot that Death March also has girls lusting after self-insert faggot MC who's super special snowflake with OP power, which makes it worse than any other SoL airing next season.

>Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
I'm looking forward to the several decade age gap anime.

Winter 2018 is culmination of the long path of 5 years of best anime studio, KyoAni going on a quest to become independent and perfect their skills so that could make culmination of their talent, a magnum opus anime that`ll make their destiny fulfilled and potential finally fully realized - Violet Evergarden, a TV anime of standard of quality, direction and story never seen before.

Based Netflix original show produced by Netflix for streaming.

>either a historical season for anime or disappointment of epic proportions
Like every season before it.

Not to be pessimistic, but the overoptimistic praise that people are giving it is making me more worried. Everyone's expectations (at least in the West) are so high that there could be backlash if it doesn't live up to the hype. Maybe that's why Japan seems to be looking forward to other shows more (like CCS).

>You forgot that Death March also has girls lusting after self-insert faggot MC who's super special snowflake with OP power, which makes it worse than any other SoL airing next season.
Implying. There is clear distinction between slice of life and comedy anime, both in storytelling and presentation. Colors is simply not a sol, same way Pop Team Epic isnt. Meanwhile Death March ideally represents a slice of life of traveling group of lolis (and lizard waifu). Overpowered MC serves makes it even more SOL as destroying dangers and enemies to him is equivalent to buying bread and does not stand out from routine of daily leisurly life.

This meme needs to die, especially as its probably propagaded by Trigger fags, whose LWA was in fact Netflix original. Netflix merely bought rights to stream VEG and is not involved in its production (only KyoAni and Lantis are), and not even exclusive as it`ll be shown on 5 jap tv channels as well other streaming services in China and elsewhere.

Not that i have a problem with Netflix originals, in opposite. But its just factually incorrect.

I'm looking forward to this season. No, it's not because there's something good coming. It's because we might witness the biggest flop in anime history.

What kind of Slice Of Life is that where the main set-up is a group of girls lusting after the MC's dick? I'd understand if they were just a group of friends like in Amanchu, NNB, Flying Witch, etc. where everything doesn't revolve around special snowflake male MC, but DM is just a blatant lazy haremshit.

Come on, Aniplex flops routinely. Its nothing worth mentioning.

If you're talking about VEG, no matter how terrible it is, it won't flop, it's so overhyped and added to the kyoani fanbase, it's gonna sell at least 10k.
And I'm pretty sure it'll be fucking terrible

>And I'm pretty sure it'll be fucking terrible
Why?

Does anyone even know what format or style Pop team epic is going to be?

First of all MC is not interested in harem or even lolis in general and routinely goes to brothels to fuck prostitutes. Secondary, he is just device for all the girls and lolis to gather around and travel. There are few girls that actually lust for his cock and they are outside of what you call "harem" and only appear episodically, while the rest are just pretty much comfy family. There only "loli" in a harem that tried to seduce MC is actually reborn medieval era japanese grandma that aquired loli body, and only tried that at start in attempt to control him, stopping when realized he is only interested in mature women and prostitutes.

No reasons to give, just a feeling, but I'll watch for the sakugaporn.

Live action TV show with Japanese Celebrities showing reactions to its gags as it airs

You`ll be disappointed. It`ll be great, if not to say greatest show ever created.

KyoAni shows have flopped before, it's nothing unheard of.

You'll be disappointed, it'll probably be fairly decent, mediocre at worst.

Ok, but it's still an Isekai harem LN with overpowered dude and it has everything that plagues that genre i.e. painfully boring "nice guy" protag being center of attention and ruining every single scene he's in. No way it's going to be better than Yuru Camp or Hakumei to Mikochi

To put it simply - there is not anything KyoAni can do for show to fail aside from rewriting it completely (which they dont seem to do, thoughthey rearranged order and added some new stuff, working with author).

It can be "not your cup of tea" show, but there is zero chance it will be "bad" show. Even if it were not KyoAni making it, given source material it`ll still be a decent show.

Of course its will be better than Yuru Camp, just about everything will be better than it. Hakumei no Mikochi is different, but its by no means a good comparison.

Do we even know if the source material is any good? Reminder that every single kyoani-made LN has been dogshit with excption of Chuuni being somehow readable.

What do you have against Yuru Camp? It looks comfy.

>just about everything will be better than it
And why's that?

I just want my yurishit

The novel is translated to english and you can go read it. Overall, its fun seeing how ignorant Sup Forums is of VEG content and how many misconceptions there are.

People who read it said that it is, though it seems that those people who said those are known KyoAnifags.

>Ito Juniji
>better than Devilman
Have you seen the PVs?
Junji show looks like a visual comic.
Crybaby has a really cool animation style.
>inevitable WIT bankruptcy
Maho no Yome and Attack on Titan sold pretty well.
Also, Clear Card-hen looks pretty good. The CLAMP source is very good, and it's the same production staff as the original.
The threads will be horrible though. Full of people whining about a TV show not being fully cel-animated in 2018, salty lolicons and /u/-fags, and people nostalgiafagging about the shitty English/spic dubs.
Evergarden and Franxx will be worth watching for sakuga, but probably forgettable. They both look really generic.
Lots of good yuri/yuribait shows.

Devilman manga is shit. Its only hyped by Sup Forums tards pretending to be old fags because it has a lot of gore and shock moments.

Junji Ito on other hand, is actually good for what it is.

>They both look really generic.
Why do people having no clue what they talk about are so intent in expressing their worthless opinions? I`ll spare the VEG since its pointless explaining to people who dont want to learn whats it about and what type of content it has, but Franxx is litterally new NGE. It might be an awful trainwreck and flop, but it`ll unlikely to be generic. People should learn to pay attention to more than empty PVs.

>Pop Team Epic - might actually be epic

I agree about Ito's manga being better, but Devilman is a really cool manga, and makes for great anime adaptations.

Anyways, I wasn't talking about the manga. I'm talking about the shows. The PV for the Junji Ito show looks absolutely abysmal. It will barely even be animated. It's like that cheap animation Hentai OVAs use were they're just stretching the images and moving them around a bit.
youtube.com/watch?v=LL0y81qvYPo

Compare that to this:
youtube.com/watch?v=DwDVD1y9lEI

>Franxx is litterally new NGE
In what way, ESL-kun? That's such a broad and worthless claim.
Also, I've read Violet Evergarden, and it's melodramatic doggerel.
Why do people who have no clue what they are talking about, or even how to speak English, insist on expressing their worthless opinions?

>contributing to inevitable WIT bankrupcy
Are you retarded?

...

Hopefully it's good. Hell, Fall was a pretty pleasant surprise.

>it's gonna sell at least 10k
6-7k at best and I'm being generous here

Live sand drawing with a rakugo performer doing the dialogue.

Sounds comfy and aesthetic.

AOTY

(you)

>Basilisk!
>The few fags that watched original still don't expect anything from it.
It's just a sequel in the name. Heck I don't even wish for a sequel. It ended perfectly.

The shows I'm interested in are Kokkoku, Ito Junji Collection, Hakumei to Mikochi, Takagi-san, Pop Team Epic, Koi wa Ameagari no You ni, and Violet Evergarden, the 5 former because I've read their manga, and the latter because everything else looks boring as shit. And I know that the ones I chose will be average to decent at best. I can't wait for Violet Evergarden to just be a pretty piece of cardboard with shitty writing, forced drama, and flat characters.

>inb4 Kokkoku will be unnoticed in Japan and really popular in the West just like Inuyashiki
>inb4 FATE/Extra, Overlord, Violet Evergarden, and Franxx the highest-selling of the season

Citrus anime could be disappointing, since it'll likely end with arc 4 where they date all of 2 minutes onscreen. Not to mention that arcs 3 and 4 could trigger people. In particular I see arc 3 as being a biggest reason to watch the series.

and you are a putang gago bayot,

who has TANGA taste

Fate/Extra - probably shit flinging
Death March - isekai shit
Overlord - probably best/fun from the season
Violet Evergarden - HYPED
Colors - mite be kool
Saiki S2 - WATCHING

I didn't even know they were remaking Basilisk. Is there any reason for it to exist? Is it going to be any different from the original?

Fate/Extra's threads will be full of people mad they didn't go with female MC. And will be complaining about a lack or yuri.

I probably watch everything that doesn't seems gay, and then reduce it to 12-14 anime, because I can't physically watch more than that

>Ito Junji
easily aots but nobody will watch it

>Beatless - Guilty Crown and Franxx killer oftheseason.
Except that's wrong, you fucking faggot. If it got taken by a good studio, you might have a point, but it's a guaranteed trainwreck.

see A sequel but with a shitty more moe art style.

>Devilman
>shit
How can one person have such shit taste. Its the most popular japanese manga with the highest sales per volume and pretty much any manga or literature scholar considers it to be one of the greatest manga ever. Not to mention that Devilman is /m/, damn newfag.
At the end of the season Devilman will be one of the most popular shows while most people wont even know that an Ito anime aired as it looks like complete trash.

...

You know no one will watch Itos anime, it will fail.

The source material is not, anime has no reason to be.

So?

Its trash.

Why do you feel so threatened by it? Did Ito works leave mental scars on your fragile psyche?

As of yet to be mentioned:
>Uchuu yori mo Tooi Basho
CGDCT on an Antarctic expedition.
Will produce meltdowns and become AOTS when people realize it's really Robert Falcon Scott's Terra Nova Expedition.

Why exactly is Devilman /m/, though? I mean, I understand that /m/ also serves as a dumping ground for old anime and manga properties that aren't being talked about on Sup Forums, but Devilman doesn't have spaceships, robots or awesome futuristic vehicles, nor does it have a special effects live action adaptation, does it?

>retards think devilman will be popular

Might sell as much as 2 whole fractales, and that's being generous.

Kaiju are considered /m/, because tokusatsu franchises like Super Sentai, Ultraman and Godzilla heavily feature super robots. Also, Devilman has a lot of crossover anime/manga with franchises like Mazinger Z and Cyborg 009.

>Also, Devilman has a lot of crossover anime/manga with franchises like Mazinger Z and Cyborg 009.
Oh yeah, that I remember now.

Dude, Overlord is gonna be so cool. I'm totally hyped for Lord Skellybones and White Lizardo

>14 years old
>boyfriend

Childhood memories are about to be brutally raped. May the Tomoyo be strong in this one.

What did they mean by this picture?

>Franxx - new Aniplexx "blockbuste"
>Violet Evergarden - AOTY
Always make sure to notice this so you can ignore shit threads.

>Death March - sol of the season
Death March getting animated? "What I ate today" the anime? wow

The only show I can say I'm excited for is Hakumei to Mikochi as I greatly enjoyed the manga. However, there are still quite a few shows that I'm interested in; Colors, Uchuu yori mo Tooi Basho, Violet Evergarden, Franxx, Babysitters and Houshin Engi (I read the manga years ago and found it good enough to keep my attention) to name some. I'll see what the reception is on Sup Forums regarding whether anything I missed out on is worth watching.

They were trying to depict a strong female lead that needs no boyfriend and will stay pure until marriage (which will happen off screen in a far far away future).
pic unrelated

basilisk gakuen?!

VEG is the only winter show that is actually worthy of calling "animated show". The rest are outsourced cheap crap, even Franxx from what PVs shows (theres still some hope for some decent moments combined with QUALITY in Fate Extra though).

Is there a single PV aside from VEGs one that doesnt look like complete crap with studios and animators not giving a fuck?

Only Hakumei to Mikochi

Death march is going to flop, just like smartphone.

Devilman should be ok. But overall, Spring 2018 has a LOT more higher profile shows that seem to be decently animated compared to winter.
youtube.com/watch?v=M_Zdfcdl3mg

Its not like those kind of shows are made to sell BDs. The proper "hit" should be Shield Hero at spring. Story turned to shit, but given the effort Liden Films put into production, it`ll still be enjoyable watch for what it is.

youtube.com/watch?v=mjezREyZI2U&t=48s

Devilman Crybaby directed by Yuasa is really the only show im looking forward to, and the first show Ill watch while airing in maybe two years. Sad itll be on netflix but oh well

I pray Yuasa will make this work

Yuasa is a hack and Devifags are cancer.

The real show you should be excited about and wait for is by Ikuhara, animated by MAPPA no less.

teen thread

CCS isn't a reboot, dumbass. It's a full fledged sequel

>Yuasa is a hack
>Ikuhara

I love Ikuhara for Utena but no, he hasnt made something good since. Penguindrum and Yurikuma were not good.

I dont even know why you would think of Yuasa as a hack. Did you dislike the last two films?

CLAMP has written no new CCS, so no.

Ryuuou no Oshigoto will be AOTS.

No, but i needed to insult you somehow. He is overrated though, Nakamura is better.

Clearcard is by Clamp and it is the sequel to CCS. What are you on about

It's going to be The Last Jedi tier.

He isnt overrated. He hasnt made the next EoE if thats what you mean, but Tatami and Ping Pong are just that good.

If you haven't read the manga, then fuck off. It's classic CCS.
