The very concept of the ToP and Jiren are fucking stupid, not to mention DBS has been consistently trash in both mediums.

He's been prominently featured as the "final boss" of the ToP for 4+ months now, and yet there's been no characterization of him at all. If they were going to flesh him out, they would have done it already.

I'm gonna be annoyed if Toriyama/Toyo actually goes with "Jiren is from one of the erased universes!" theories we see thrown around every now and then, it would add more to his Superman esque character too.

Anyway, I'd be annoyed mainly for two reasons: Number 1: It'd mean his wish is most likely to restore the erased universes. Number 2: Wouldn't it mean Jiren tanked a Zeno erasure since we saw U10's warrior's pendant be erased in front of Gohan (nothing survived Zeno's erasure ability from what we've seen)

So basically an even less fun version of the ToP. He could basically off screen knock outs by having fodders from other universe knock each other out, but if he doesn't give at least each U7 fighter their own chapter spotlight then it's confirmed he really is making a quick cash grab anime supplement.

That Trunks thought genuinely escaped my mind, however, that reminded me of Zamasu leaking into the other timelines, yet he still got erased while Trunks was fine. I don't even know anymore.

18 and 17 actually have not jobbed in the ToP. They have challenged and defeated opponents that were stronger than them. If 18 lost to Ribrianne to set up 17 or anyone else beating her, that would be jobbing. But 18 won. 17 almost lost to Aniraza, which would be jobbing if it was a setup for someone else to win. But 18 saving him allowed him to fight back and win.

The androids are some of the only characters who HAVEN'T fucking jobbed in the entire ToP.

I feel like Toei really doesn't want to portray the people Goku is fighting, and leading to their deaths, as heroes on their own right. They showed a few heroic moments for the Pride Troopers, but as soon as the tournament started the only heroic thing about them was attack names and pose mania - outside of Jiren, which basically leaves him with nothing aside from being a jerk.

I hope the manga doesn't pull the same thing once the tournament begins.
