How do people dislike the Cell saga?
Its the only one that felt like it had actual character development.

It's pretty obvious the Cell saga was meant to be the end of the series originally.

Because db fanbase is primarily made of retarded manchildren that don't give a fuck about plot as long as their mc wins.

They’re scared that Cell will be too strong and solo the ToP.

No one dislikes the Cell saga

Japan hated the Cell Saga because it was too dark. Goku suffering from a fatal heart attack, and committing suicide by self sacrifice was too much for the audience to handle.

Ironic considering so many of them drop themselves off of buildings or work themselves to death.

Chad Brolster would merc virgin asscell

Goku was aware that he's not going to live long after suffering from the first heart attack. He couldn't beat Cell being putting more stress on his body by raising the power level would trigger a second one mid-battle, enough to make Cell stop the fight

Fucking what

That’s one of the worst things about their work ethic, they cannot take a break. Just look at guys in Germany. They know that running the machine non-stop will make it crash, not be more productive, and they’ll stop for maintainence and rest.

Because it drags. I guess Frieza saga drags too but by the time the Cell saga came around I was fed up with it.

Going Super Saiyan puts the user under a tremendous amount of physical and emotional stress. It's shown to be a pretty traumatic experience for Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Trunks when they unlock it first. Controlling all that power and making it work is absurdly hard to the point that using Super Saiyan carries the risk of destroying the user and everything around him.

He wasn't having a heart attack during his fight with cell. He also spent a year in the time chamber perfectly fine there was nothing heart attack related in the cell saga after he was cured.

>Its the only one that felt like it had actual character development.

>Completely dismissing Vegetas colossal character development during the Future Trunks arc in DBS.

Cell Saga was ok but Gohanpedos cling to it too much. It messed up the formula and killed Gohan as a character.

Every arc was meant to be the end of the series.

Well the Buu arc was

Gohan managed to job THREE times in the same fight.
That was a new low for Jobhan

While some of what you said is true, by the end of the Cell Saga Goku and Gohan have trained to eliminate the strain SS1 puts on the body.

Why is Vegeta considerably weaker than Goku and Gohan even after using the RoSaT twice?

Cell arc power scale!

1. SSJ2 Gohan
2. Super Perfect Cell
3. Perfect Cell
4. Perfected SSJ Gohan
5. Perfected SSJ Goku
6. Cell Jr
7. Vegeta/Trunks
8. Piccolo
9. Android 16
10. Android 17
11. Android 18
12. Dr Gero/Android 19
13. Tenshinhan
14. Krillin
15. Yamcha

Piccolo was demonstrably weaker than first form cell who was exactly equal to android 16. Your list is shit

Cell saga was something different, Gohan finally maturing and realizing what he really is.

Frieza saga was darker, I'd say. Frieza liked to torture his victims.

Piccolo trained at the time chamber afterwards.

No he did not

?????

Piccolo trains in the time chamber during the 10 day build up to the Cell games.

i want to go into the chamber of time so i can escape my responsibilities.

>Japan hated

Does not compute. Towards the end of the Cell arc and the beginning of the Buu arc the manga was at its popularity peak in both anime and manga. Cell himself was just not as popular as a villain as Freezer and Vegeta, but that's about it. The backlash against it mostly comes from the west but its still mostly enjoyable. Even the claims raised against it about fans hating Gohan becoming the MC and Toriyama having to change it back are completely unsupported by any tangible evidence. That was simply Toriyama's decision.

Personally, I think it wasn't as well executed as the saiyan/namek arc and Cell actually became less interesting as a character as he grew in power, and it wasn't as creative as the Buu arc (the problem with the Buu arc is that Tori had way too many ideas that were interesting on their own but he couldn't quite gel them into a cohesive narrative), but it had its own fair share of memorable fight and interesting moments.

>Attempt to introduce two main antagonistic forces (three if you count Gero)
>Villain's motivation goes down as his smugness goes up
>Out of control power scaling, much worse than anything we've seen up to this point in the series
>Protagonists have to be lobotomized to justify most of the retarded shit they do in order to progress the plot (Vegeta allowing Ugly Cell to become Smug Cell because "muh pride," Goku sending his preteen son to fight a planetbusting monster, Krillin letting a key component to Ugly Cell becoming Smug Cell live because his dick got wet, etc)
>Smug Cell not knowing what the fuck to do after his end goal is achieved starting a tournament arc
Everything after Bug Cell becomes Ugg Cell is shit.

>Even the claims raised against it about fans hating Gohan becoming the MC and Toriyama having to change it back are completely unsupported by any tangible evidence. That was simply Toriyama's decision.

Well strictly speaking from hindsight it was a pretty bad idea. Kid Gohan was an awesome character and the Cell saga set him up to take over and then cut him down. He will never be redeemable as a character now because of this. This plot point gave us Gohan vs Dabura and Gohan's green jumpsuit and him getting stomped by Freiza. It killed Gohan as a character and he will forever be in Goku and Vegetas shadow, just someone for Piccolo to jump in front of and lose an arm because he can't dodge.

>Smug Cell not knowing what the fuck to do after his end goal is achieved starting a tournament arc
His end goal was having fun blowing shit up.

>Out of control power scaling, much worse than anything we've seen up to this point in the series
Explain how the absurdly fast leaps in power in the Freeza arc were better. Vegeta went from a battle power of 24,000 to being stronger than 2nd form Freeza at least just by getting beat up a lot.

Didn't Goku went something like 120k to 100m after the body change?
