It has the best song in the entire series, that's for sure.

Because the movie just felt like an overly drawn out episode of the show and didn't really need to be a movie

Because they just treat the film like an episode of the series, kind of like when you say "I just watched Evangelion" you basically mean series + EoE.

Let's compare the two:

Cowboy Bebop series:
>Does not take place in high school
>MCs aren't teenagers facing the challenges of growing up
>No culture festival
>No beach episode
>No cute imoutos to masturbate to

Cowboy Bebop film:
>Does not take place in high school
>MCs aren't teenagers facing the challenges of growing up
>No culture festival
>No beach episode
>No cute imoutos to masturbate to

In Sup Forums's mind, they are exactly the same.

yeah, both shit

How the fuck is the villain immune to explosions?

The movie should have been a 2 part episode, and the show's finally should have been a movie.

Daran Norris performance as Vincent is such a captivating performance.

The cold open was great

>that opening
>that train scene
>fayes titties
>the old men in the plane
>the final fight between Vincent and Spike
>the butterflies
>gotta knock a little harder

Because the movie wasn't different enough to even be worth distingushing. Not that that's a bad thing.

DON'T WANNA BE THE ONE TO POP YOUR CHERRY, GIRL

fpbp

"More of the same" isn't a bad thing when the "same" is so top notch.

If only all anime had this quality dubbing

Assuming you meant "finale", I disagree. The movie is an entirely self-contained story. You don't even have to be familiar with the show to enjoy it. Making the last couple episodes into a movie, and therefore making it required viewing for the show due to being the culmination of one of the few series-long storylines would have been a mistake.

Also the movie came out two years later anyway.

last time i missed the vital spot

BUT just barely..

>that train scene
HOW THE FUCK IS THE VILLAIN IMMUNE TO EXPLOSIONS THOUGH?

Butterflies user. Butterflies.

>no cute imoutos to masturbate to
Who is Edward?

By exposing himself to an increasing series of smaller, less lethal explosions, he developed an immunity.

Also this

I loved it.

>masturbating to Ed
I'm not even mad, just disappointed

this, I dozed off near the middle

Nigga the movie is literally a double-episode but a bit more longer

>these numbers

>not knock a little harder

Some people don't know there was a movie, and the ones who do know already discussed it to death like the series.

Excellent film nonetheless.

All movies based off anime were double episodes with longer running time. Cowboy Bebop stands out as having one of the best movies aside from Digimon, early the first three Dragonball Movies, and first three Pokemon movies.

>Not Ask DNA
>Being this gummed up

Faye's tits were great on it.

>All movies based off anime were double episodes with longer running time.
I wish. I remember a lot of anime movies based on tv shows from that period attempting to go a different direction than the show and ending up with questionable results that were just an echo of the original show. Escaflowne, Nadesico, Utena, etc.
Embarrassing to admit, but that's why I avoided watching this for so long.

What's the best viewing order for the series/movie?

>movie first, series after
the movie is standalone enough to serve as a low commitment intro to the series for people who aren't sure if they'll be into it. You get a feel for all the main characters the series will eventually introduce you to and see the kinds of adventures they'll go on when it all comes together

>chronological order, between eps 23 and 24
functions as just another adventure, but one with more runtime and budget. Well placed to be a final really fun adventure with the whole crew working as a decent team before they start to fall apart in the final episodes, and lets the series' finale function as the actual finale, as originally intended

>series then movie
if you don't like downer endings going back to the movie as a final storyline set in lighter days might leave a better taste in your mouth. The high budget and screentime to give every member of the crew something to do in the one adventure makes it play almost like a highlight reel for each one's strengths

I'm for chronological, personally. I watched series than movie first time, and went chronological for the rewatch and thought it worked a lot better. The series ending is too good not to have as THE ending for your Cowboy Bebop experience.

>movie first, series after
the film shows the cast all together, jumping back to the beginning where its just Spike and Jet and then gradually accumulating the crew would be too jarring.

My brother of alternate parentage.

>The high budget and screentime to give every member of the crew something to do in the one adventure makes it play almost like a highlight reel for each one's strengths

yeah, like spike doing investigating, kicking ass, doing cool shit, flirting with ladies, flying around like a badass, and jet... being an old complainy dude, ed... uhhh... well she had that pumpkin head for a little bit, and faye... having boobs and getting tied up.

the movie looks great, has a great soundtrack, interesting villain, great fights... but it's about a half hour too long and really, it's just the spike show.

a REALLY fun movie would've been to stretch out the teddy bomber episode or maybe the casino one into a movie with those production values

fourth post best post

I'd say the movie after the fact if only because you can best appreciate all the parallels it makes between Spike and Vincent, along with recognizing that Spike's end is approaching as well. The series' initial run is too good, and I felt it wasn't quite designed for something like a "last hurrah" adventure to be fit in somewhere.
