What is the way to write a good isekai? Should we avoid harems and power fantasies or are they too profitable to leave out?

>gender bender
>taken advantage of due to being new to the world
>can't use modern technique from his world
>?

You make a good one by avoiding all these squares.

Get /tg/ to write

Send some thug who is completely unaware of fantasy tropes and video games, watch as he gets completely bewildered by the most basic of fantasy tropes.

>low technology setting
Does this mean medieval or cave men? How low?

>can't talk to anyone since you don't know the language
>be poor since you have know skills
>use poison ivy as toilet paper
>get laughed into slavery since the only land you own is a shitty apartment
>dying of an infection since medicine doesn't exist

>since medicine doesn't exist

I used to write for /tg/. Shame it was 40k porn.

Make the winning girl a best girl!

A Very Strong Goblin is isekai but doesn't apply to this because the protag is a monster and the isekai'd characters are 'side-kicks'.

I know an answer that isn't 100% correct but is definitely true.

Make the story about a fetish you actually like and can go blabber about it for hours. It's going to resonate into other people with the same fetish or people who are interested with the author's character.

>tfw I was debating writing an isekai at some point because im a fucking autist
>manage to dodge almost all of these squares

whew.
(political/religious antagonists and generic fantasy races)

Is breastfeeding a good enough fetish?

It's a superb fetish.

What about Oyakodon?

As long as both are good looking, yes.

What about mutually consenting missionary, under covers with light off, for procreation and bonding with both partners enjoying and loving the act? With kissing and cuddling.

but we're still on hiatus for another few weeks

Ruins incest stuff.

I love how this guy comes up with great ideas then puts breast feeding into it cause it's his fetish. SnQ was about the periodic table fighting each other but lol boob milk powers. Not to say I don't like SnN because it's a fun series, shame it's fucking slow to come out.

Enjoy your ban.

Just create a decent fucking fantasy world without falling back on the video game/RPG crutch.

Careful, we gotta be talk about things like that in secret.
Rest of the world is not yet ready for this kind of stuff

Write Escaflowne

But hiatus just ended.

>ruins

MC is cursed to get cucked forever.

By another person or by a truck?

Bit uncalled for mate.

Will Seo do isekai next?

The pount of sending a character from the real world is to make a point by comparing and contrasting the different societies. Many comics however make reader insert wish fulfilment fantasies instead. For example with these popular rpg world isekai they tend to follow the formula of "fall in love, become powerful win the girl" which is fine in its own right but alone doesn't do anything to explore the idea that the charscter is from the real world. Instead in an rpg isekai a writer could do something like comparing the inherent individualism of a society where one can grind to become anything they want to be to the collectivism of Japan, or as a way to discuss the effects of unemployment as industries replace workers with machines they could show how in a world where anything can be created by magic without much effort there would be more idle hands which would lead to more crime. Like with all good work a point has to be made.

Already exist.

But he seems like it though? I want the MC to suffer, seriously and comically.

*seems to like it

honestly those two seem to be the most forgivable, it'd be very hard to write a main antagonist without making it a powerful figure in one of those two columns

Actually explore the premise of your Isekai

If he reincarnated fully with his memories intact make the head start he get his main and probably only gimmack
If the MC is a mage make the series about learning magic
If the MC has to fight the demon king (or the kingdom that summoned him) make the villain threatening and powerful and important in the story
don't just meander and faf about actually get into the nitty gritty of the premise and show what the premise would be in a world with actual weight to it

as expected of kami-sama

...

Write whatever the fuck you want. Just make it good.

Damn, the synopsis is really interesting.

guess the isekai

I have to say, I wouldn't mind seeing him try it, because it'd be nice to see him try something different for once

You either just write a fantasy novel or you make the world the MC comes from relevant at all times and not in the way like "MC is a great engineer because he knew fucking HTML before". Also being from another world should not only be an advantage but also a disadvantage.

>low technology
Of course the technology we have nowadays is more advanced but that doesn't mean that poeple back then were fucking morons. Actually some of the ways they did stuff in medieval/ancient times (Most notably architecture) is brilliant.

Reverse isekai. Eccentric main characters get transported to our world and struggle to adapt.

>NEET noble girl

>good isekai
