It's called jumping the shark
I remember back in the 90's when Evangelion came out and this was all the rage.
>first episode has Kurisu stabbed and murdered
>they find out SERN has been killing people in human experimentation projects in episode 4
>"Theme and feel of the anime changes completely out of nowhere"
What did he mean by this?
All it means is that the series has run out of ideas and tries to reinvent itself in a half-assed manner.
OP probably has a terrible attention span.

It was always a slow building up, and then it happened.

Himegoto. That shit is like LOSS meme.
Though the VN is better, I liked how this scene was handled better in the anime

>slams open
Holy fuck why is that walther so big!?
It's being held by a small Asian man
Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara.
Matrix bullshit out of nowhere
small Asian child
>first three episodes are the ramblings of a deranged old man
>Serious anime has a one off comedic episode
>Comedic anime has a one off serious episode
>Steins;Gate
How?
By the way, I don't think it never happened with success in anime, I can't think a single anime where the theme suddently changed to something else, pretty sure the plot would turn to shit, also if I want to watch a moeshit cute anime I dont want people getting all fucked up like Gintama kinda surprised me by killing an important character, while usually the serious plot arcs would end with no one dead, but that's not a big turning point
Hal Emmerich?
>Comedy anime
>Last couple episodes are the most serious it's ever been
Nice
Must be a parttime job of his, working on time travel and mecha
Not sure if you’re talking about Ishikawa or Saotome but either way Armageddon was shit. Getter needs a proper anime so bad.
Don't remind me.
