I get hating the furry community (the annoying aspects of it anyway) and furry porn, but I'll never understand being repulsed by anthropomorphic characters in other sorts of things unless you're a closet furry.
It's mostly gut reactions people have since associating any kind of anthro art with the furry community has been a popular stereotype. I've seen tons of people who just can't get over it, and it's honestly disappointing since there's plenty of good art and material out there that just gets shoved aside because it's "furry" and therefore somehow inherently linked to the less palatable aspects of the fandom.

I should probably clarify that these are a different set of 4komas, which Yuuki Ray uploaded to Pixiv before it got picked up as a series (I'm guessing). It looks like they're not the same continuity as the full manga.

Yeah, they're different. Some of them might appear in volume 2, but some I'm pretty sure will be Pixiv version exclusive. I haven't read all of the ones he has on Pixiv, but from a cursory glance, quite a few of them aren't in the Rex comics version.

It's kind of odd. I really like the designs of Beastars. However, something about Tama's face is gross. It may partially be the fact that this manga also has human characters (and the art just isn't as good), but if Tama just had the ears, teeth, and tail, I would be able to digest it better.
I wonder if it's because I grew up in the 90s and thus was exposed to shitloads of anthropomorphic characters, but I don't really care how animalish characters are if they're not supposed to be sex appeal. Like, the animal people in Dragon Ball are fine, but if one of them were thrown into a porn manga, it wouldn't work out for me.
