Was there ever a chance for the Ants to win considering that humanity had nukes?

Was there ever a chance for the Ants to win considering that humanity had nukes?

Also how were the ants unaware of the existence of nuclear weapons, did Bizeff just not tell them or something?

Humans stomp.

Ants are stupid.

They can suck my fucking atomic cock.

More kungfu magic bullshit animes should end with them all getting nuked and dying of radiation poisoning.

if they'd try to ant it up on some civilized continent, they would get destroyed by hunters and the military earlier before producing the royal guard. but they started in neo green life and a few months wasn't enough to learn how scary humans can be.

they really thought they're hot shit because they can achieve the pinnacle of creation, but naivety is a big mistake

In retrospect, killing off someone who uses mystic chi/chakra/spiritual energy b.s. with a bomb is extremely satisfying. Similar to watching wacky eastern martial arts getting its ass kicked by boxing and wrestling.

No. The whole point was that the ants were nothing compared to humanity's potential for malice/evolution.

Why couldn't pouf neutralize the poison?

Because it wasn't poison, it was radiation. Radiation is just energy, it's not made of matter like poison. It's completely different.

But that's wrong

>Ionizing radiation isn't energy
What are you even trying to say man?

It was a bit of a bizarre choice to exclusively refer to the dirty bombs as releasing "poison," though, at least in the 2011 anime. I suppose it's a sensitive topic, but I'd think if they were going to use the topic anyway, they'd beat around the bush less.

O

Did he even notice it?

To be fair they didn't even call it a nuclear bomb.

However it was obviously a miniature cobalt bomb.

It is true that radiation is undectable by human senses.

Yeah, that felt a bit silly.

What's funny is that at any time humanity could just launch an ICBM and kill them all easily, not even Pitou would have been fast enough to intercept an ICBM.

The only reason that they weren't nuked immediately was internal human politics, the ants where never ever more than bugs.

It's wrong because the manga tells us in extravagant detail that the rose contains a poison that evolves to eventually kill the afflicted. That's not radiation, radiation is like a fire that destroys your DNA so you can't ever recover and fall to pieces like that one Jap who got exposed to the melted reactor fuel did. If they were all afflicted to death by radiation Meryem would never have been able to recover and would be sloughing off the rest of his tiny beef jerky body. The rose's poison works similarly to one of Coco's poisons, the virus poison or w/e, from Toriko where it constantly spreads through the body evolving to bypass the host's immune system and destroy it.

The rose isn't a nuke in the first place. We see them go off in the explanation/flashbacks and they had a yield of about a skyscraper back then, I guess the one Netero had was stronger, but even the smallest, most primitive nuke in history was enough to reduce a city center to shadows burned into the ground and do kilometers of damage.

Oh, it's also explained to us that the poison can spread easily from person-to-person after the initial explosion, which is why it had so many casualties (not because of the explosion, which we're shown was small when it was first used). I'm sure radiation poisoning could spread between people a little bit but not like how the miniature rose's poison does like a virus.

>leave Meruem to me

I would have liked to see how the king / royal guard interacted with bizeff, even if it was short

Nope. He would always job.

if netero had access to a nuke the entire time why did he choose to put it inside himself and not just have 4th dimension guy drop it in the castle and peace out

Really gets the noggin joggin.

There were a lot of pepole right infront of the castle.
He wanted Meruem away first.

Different things...one is self defense or to kill the other is to score points in a ring

I guess that's acceptable, but that empty courtyard looked pretty huge and the people were even further back from that. Probably could have blown the place and maybe the front row of retards would have got radiation poisoning at worst.

Couldn't they have nuked the place before all the people showed up?

They could.

How are you supposed to sell more chapters like that?

They weren't 100% sure of the situation inside, they knew they had some humans in there IIRC

Nukes were a new weapon

Why didn't they use the invisible lizard and Knov's combined power to just decapitate Meruem?

The entire point was that no matter how super evolved the ants were they were still just biological creatures which were helpless against nukes and super AIDS, and that's why humanity deserves to be at the top of the food chain.

if Netero didn't shoulder all the blame and let the Ants create their army.
I mean, Meruem managed to barely survive the impact and Nen users can come up with some crazy Hatsus.
There was also the plot point about how rapidly the Ants can evolve and adapt.

>We see them go off in the explanation/flashbacks and they had a yield of about a skyscraper back then, I guess the one Netero had was stronger, but even the smallest, most primitive nuke in history was enough to reduce a city center to shadows burned into the ground and do kilometers of damage.

No, the smallest nukes look like this. And the rose bomb was pretty damn similar in yield IIRC

we could nuke north korea right now if we wanted

why don't we?

Because Knov couldn't reach Meruem and even if he did Meruem has insane reaction time and would notice him the instant he revealed himself.

In all fairness, the cities were made of wood and the bois were basically fuckhuge torches

If Meruem could have convinced some skilled Nen Humans and politicians to join his side, yes. If he could have somehow gotten Netero to not use the Rose and let him live, he could have conquered significant portions of the world.

Nigga there are literally pictures of cell damage when they explain it and the symptoms are the same as radiation poisoning

> Similar to watching wacky eastern martial arts getting its ass kicked by boxing and wrestling.
Not really. It would be similar to watching a wacky eastern martial arts master getting his ass kicked by a fat, lazy guy using a rifle.

The looming threat of their ally China

>he feel for the deadly self defense meme

No sparring means you don't know how to fight

Tell me how a Knov and Maleoron team would not be able to one shot the king without the royal guards even relize what happened

they hadn't met

So you're saying that there's good reasons as to why you don't just go ahead and drop a nuke on another country

You will like this

>we
Do you own nuclear weapons, where can I get some? See I thought it was states who own them, but you did say we.

me and my fellow citizens do own some nukes, jealous?

I lost my copy of the nuclear football, where can I be issued another? I even work for DoD, but they wouldn't let me program the targeting computers. I told them, I helped pay for the damn things I ought to be able to inspect my property.

are we supposed to watch it at 1.5x to avoid copyright issues?

>he doesn't own recreational nukes

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

He wanted to fight Meruem before going ISIS on his ass.

Togashi used poison because these chapters were being published right after the Fukushima incident, it would have been incredibly rude to have the king and guards die by actual radiation.

The euphemism was pretty blatant anyway

Netero was a 100-year-old Saitama. He had never fought somebody stronger than him after the mountain training and this was possibly the last chance he had.

It is explicitly said in the flashback detailing the installation of the bomb that:
The G5/UN Security Council-expy wanted to make it look like an accident in order to keep the ants' existence secret.
And it needed to be an accident that was seemingly caused by the Gorteau government itself because a foreign intervention would probably have scared other nations across the world.
Netero wanted to fight Meruem

The bomb couldn't explode inside the castle because the Ming Jon-Ilk wouldn't make a nuclear test on his own home. And with all the dead soldiers and civilians in East Gorteau it would look like the G5 launched an invasion.

Easily stopped , the only way was with a point blank detonation which could only happen because netero.

This, they even explain the nukes killed far more people in a shorter timeframe than the ants ever did
