That depends, have you watched the OVA and the movie as well? That one has a better ending than if you watched just the series. I'd wager that they couldn't go anywhere else but that exact kind of ending. Girls love that stuff for some reason.
Also that girl is really really pretty, I picked this up due to that frame and I just want to see more of her.

The shows ending could have been good if Mirai died for real or never pretended to be dead for five minutes. They also wasted time with filler instead of spending more screentime on the Nase side of the story to make the bullshit with glowing tentacle dude less rushed.

I actually watched this last week after some user said it would be worth it and what do you know, it WAS worth it. It ain't shakespeare, but it was a comfy series with great visuals and likeable characters. Also Mitsuki was way too hot to be wasted as an extra.

If you watched only TV version, you did not see the ending. The story continues to develop in both recap movie (which is actually relevant to watch) and 2nd movie which finishes it.
Its actually quite great love story and overall concept, given that you understand all that happened after having watched both prequel OVA, tv and both movies.
