>literally no one can name 98% of the monsters because they're so forgettable and deviantart-esque, even the ones that grew up as fans
Is there a more cucked series than this?

Nigga there are over a thousand species of Digimon and you have to be a super fan to name over a thousand Digimon. Though I can only go to 200 maybe 300 tops.
> >Di di di digimon
Isn't that shit only in America?
Speaking of cucks, let's post a classic.
Even people who grow up with Digimon can only remember the main ones and the villains.
But Digimon as this.
I grew up with Digimon and I can remember more than that. Maybe it's because I kept up with Digimon for the past 17 years.
Also the ones they got in games
He has a better waifu now.
>monsters
>they just look like humans cosplaying
This was always cringe worthy to me. Piedmon is literally the worst design in history. People dressing up in halloween costumes shouldn't be "Digital Monsters". Digimon has cool stuff like Alphamon and Terriormon but the worst designs are some of the absolute worst to ever come out of Japan.
It's not even a fair comparison. S1 digimon (only one I watched so far) is great on his own and actually has nothing to do with pokemon.
Well Digimon isn't about knowing all the Digimon. It's really about knowing one and connecting with it.
The Digimon theme is far from bland, people remember both.
>Hating on Kefkamon
Isn't the evolution in digimon meant to be more conventional? Almost every digimon becomes more humanoid in each form.
What if they have wings and shit or actual angels and demons? We also have poop Digimon.
Humanoid forms are much more preferred as they are seen more suited for battle and are much stronger too.
>2018
>still no good anime (Tamers had potential but it went downhill quick and the last half was underwhelming)
>still no good games (Cyber Sleuth was almost good but it was far too bland and boring)

I was talking about the story and characters
> SSR
RIP Digimon Heroes
S1 has more character growth and interaction than all the pokemon seasons combined.
I actually really liked Digimon (only saw when I was a kid). They were stranded in a whole other world and it had this survival aspect to it. The characters were way more interesting than Pokemon too and had more interesting (to a kid) individual struggles. Meanwhile Brock's was what? He can't get laid? Little kids dont care about that. Gross
Pokemon are actual monsters, Digimon are digital critters that spawned off the internet. Of course some of them are gonna look like porno, that's 90% of the internet.
Daily reminder the prota's little sister has an incestuous love for him, it is shown in one of the latest episode and it was stated by the author and anime director.
If you like this show show your an incestfag and should feel bad about it.
Digimon are real critters too, they existed in the digital world and just went uninteracted with until digital devices were created in the human world. Except for in Tamers.
Good thing that digimon has been consistently top dog over other monster themed anime and its games in the last five years have found the right formula and are overall solid and with sequels under development.
> its games in the last five years have found the right formula and are overall solid and with sequels under development.
Yeah, now if only they started porting them to PC, that would be perfect
Digimon is the Gohan of Monster raising series.
It will go blanco?
Digimon Tri is the series' last breath of relevance and no one gives a shit about it already.
>Tamers
>downhill
what are you on about? Tamers was the best series out there
Appmon was pretty popular, more with fujos than with the actual fanbase, but was popular still and the games are going strong. Tri is indeed the gohan of digimon but Digimon itself hasn't been this alive in years.
>always in the shadow of something better, more appealing, more fun and more memorable
no, no, no, and debatable.
The premise was good and there was some character development but the finale really sucked. Overall the characters and adventure weren't as entertaining as S1. And if you just wanted monsters fighting, those scenes were pretty bad.
Yeah, can't be a cuck if you trade up.
You forgot to mention how Digimon Tri was a waste of potential too
>the best of its games and spin offs are just okay, never as satisfying or entertaining as its rival's
retard alert
>cuck

Go home, Sup Forums.
>make all the characters have samefaces and look blander

The Digimon anime is a million times better than the Pokémon anime, though.
Cybersleuth was 10x better than any Pokemon game released in the last decade but ok
what about monster rancher?
Cybersleuth was a dumbed down Pokemon game with less monsters. Even for a Digimon fan, it's just mediocre at best.
No Digimon game is as satisfying or actually feels like a big adventure like the mainline Pokemons.
Didn't Appmon use a lot of Cgi ?
I mean, Pokémon has a lot of sakuga moments and it's a long running anime, meanwhile Digimon uses shitty cgi and stills everywhere.
Fucking Toei
>the best of its games and spin offs are just okay, never as satisfying or entertaining as its rival's
Digimon World is a fucking masterpiece.
That's just plain wrong. Pokemon has been the same shit since its very first game, and it took them decades to finally implement things that other rpg takes for granted like separation between physical and magical and fights between groups of characters. There's also a serious lack of feeling of adventure when there's a pretty bareboned plot and very minimal story to follow.
It's not just the studio, it's the fact that nintendo pumps lots of money into the anime despite how bad it is while bandai only pumps extra money into key episodes of digimon anime.
You know they're desperate when they're begging for fujobux this hard.
AppMon's CGI was good and because of the cgi we got the best fights in the franchise.
Even dozens of times more popular series like naruto beg for fujobucks, so nothing desperate about it, it's just how sad are the current trends of anime
appmon's cgi looked great though.
I wouldn't mind all future digimons to be CGI if they looked like this.
it really enhanced the digital monsters aspect of it
Wait Wargreymon is in Appmon? I thought they had gotten rid of all the old Digimon in that series.
there was a cross over episode.
there was a rogue appmon that could bring characters from game apps to live and mind control them.
Agumon was the only game character that didn't get brainwashed.
It was a nice shout out.

Digimon has always had a ton of homolust.
It was only a matter of time
We'll see which series will implode, the one that keeps doing video games and anime with different mechanics and thematics and has stable earning or the one that keeps doing the same shit and has to keep a great income or it will lose interest of their investors and shit will go down
I like how they killed all first time mega moments by showing the ultra digivolution with the exact same animation seconds before, having the fight (actually all fights) be underwhelming, cramming as much as 3 different ones in the same 3 minutes and sometimes not even putting the right song in.
I mean the whole thing is a boring piece of trash but hyping up the mega forms was a huge part of their marketing but it looks like they didn't bother at all.
Monster rancher is not because it doesn't go to shit.
It just dies.
>No Digimon game is as satisfying or actually feels like a big adventure like the mainline Pokemons.
What's so satisfying about doing an adventure with the same cliches and tropes as other pokemon games?
Also even Digimon World 1 has better gameplay mechanics and a better soundtrack and came in 1999 for the psx

What are you thoughts on the upcoming Tri movie?
Brave Heart is just perfect.
Yeah, but then they were formless, bits and pieces of data recognizable to each other like amoeba. When our digital devices interacted they took the forms they have now.
You said it. Pokemon games >>>>> Digimon games
That being said, the worst of the Digimon anime series is easily better than the best Pokemon series. Hell, Adventure and Tamers alone carry the entire Digimon anime above anything from Pokemon.
So Monster Rancher is the Cell of monster raising series.
2018 is the Year of the Dog, according to the Chinese calendar
I fucking loved Brock as a kid, which is what made Tracy such a shit. I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt that way. though overall I did like the Digimon anime better
I really hate the sameface in tri. if I saw him cropped out by himself with no context there's no way I'd be able to guess that that's supposed to be matt
Yes.
Tough I wouldn't say it's bad, jsut not as good as the japanese, or even german version.
The first three season are locked in my mind for eternity.
Only after that I stoped paying attention, tough I heard that the 4th one takes up a lot of steam after the very weak beginning.
