Shit, that hit harder than it should have.
Still one of the best Manga I've read.
On the one hand the OVA's are very good, but they were also spaced out well enough in their development so that the Studio could really give them some TLC. I think given how the arcs can be pretty dense that doing the series as a series of 40-50 minute OVA's released over the course of a couple years would be the best way to handle it.

Because I've read the manga and I'd like to experience the story again in a different medium. Because it would popularise the original work.

Thing is adaptations are a double edged sword. It's possible to experience the story again but if the studio isn't up to the job than you wind up disappointed. And as far as the current climate for adaptations go, handling a series like AiB with the typical cour structure would either require a guarentee that they will adapt the entire series, or else you're going to get a hacked version that stops abruptly.
It strongly depends on how the adaptation will go and who handles it as to whether or not it's a net positive for any previous manga fans.
