Jitsu wa Watashi wa Author Eiji Masuda to Launch New Manga on January 25 2018

This year's sixth issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine announced on Thursday that manga creator Eiji Masuda will launch a new manga in the magazine's ninth issue on January 25. The new series, Shūkan Shōnen Hachi (Weekly Shonen Hachi), will have a 61-page first chapter with a color opening page.

The manga centers on Hachi Bonjin ("Bonjin" means "mediocre"), who has always wanted to become a "protagonist." He has a new dream to attend the "Onigahama Manga Academy," even though he's not a genius.

@Tarage: It is time!

(Always wanted to say that. Though don't take it as an order to pick it up.)

I hope it'll be good.

Im in. Loved Jitsu Wa.

how many chapters Jitsu wa had? just to make sure I download a batch with all of it,

it's been like 6 months though?

Translations lagged behind a bit. I think they even waited for tankobons.

Ended on 19.02.2017 and the last scanlated chapter came out on 23.11.2017. I think.

So it's a year-ish.

You could buy it too, if you want?
(196?)

Will it feature more dinosaurs crying together with the NASA?

Possibly?

I want to see him doing more creepy art

so... seaside demon academy or semen demon academy?

that's not an unreasonable wait between series?

in what way? jackoff editors delay everything. watch them fuck with his artwork, again.

I meant that a year sounds like a reasonable wait, between new series, I assume he had a vacation and cleared his mind a little.

should really clear some of my manga backlog

HYPE

Bakuman?

nice, hope someone picks it up fast

Here we go

>Jitsu wa Watashi wa Author Eiji Masuda to Launch New Manga
Nah thanks mate, we are good.

I'm in. Hopefully there'll be some good cakes.

Jitsu wa was such a fun, interesting and absurd read, kinda hype for whatever new stuff EIji will do now.

I'm not hyping myself too much. Just in case. But i'll be there and i'll read it.

Why does Champion attract such fun, quirky, less generic series?

so is there any more imfo available or is it unclear until ch1 is released?

>buy
faggot

This artstyle never gets any less ugly.

Could say that same about you user

Can't wait to read it.

gimme more goofy girls

I hope Author won't go sausage fest.

Sorry, won't happen. We already committed to Bird Cafe as the next project. As much as I adore Jitsu, we were running on fumes for the last few chapters. We'd need, at minimum, a scanner, a cleaner, a proofer, a redrawer, and someone to lead the project(I can't do another weekly, it was very hard on me). It'd be better if another group ran with it.

it's probably best for people not to expect too much from it until it's found its form, if it flops you'll avoid disappointment.

I don't think that should be a concern. If we could do it, I'd do it in a heartbeat. We just don't have the capability to do it right now.

Look at the 'special thanks' page in the final omake/bonus to see how many people worked on Jitsu. We had a revolving door of people because again, working on a weekly series is hell.

>working on a weekly series is hell
Try doing a daily that publishes late night, now THIS is real hell.

One-two pagers like Tomo?

Yeah I get that. It's a hell I don't wish on anyone.

At least with weekly you can shift things around. Daily? Miss a chapter and you're fucked.

>not horror
Not sure if interested then.

Well, it's not too bad when the staff is pretty much settled in stone or if you do it like Helvetica and leave yourself a 30 page backlog (RIP Helvetica when MouTel comes back from the dead), but yeah, if you're like that french dude doing that Nico Tanigawa manga, you're fucked (thank God for him it only updates for like 1-2 week every month instead of daily)

Nobody said you absolutely have to pick this up, or even continue.

"It is time!" more refering to the hope I had previously that he would start another series again.

why not backlog for a week a dump as a batch?

Have you seen the mess that is Kaguya?

People get VERY upset if they don't get their manga RITE NAO.

That's why they were not able to do a 30 page backlog?

That's why you had to work on every raw chapter of JwWw immediately instead of dropping into the occasional RAW thread when you had time.

This is sorta paradoxal to say, but it's easier on my TLer/PR to do one page a day than 7 in a row weekly. Now you're gonna say "But why doesn't he do it daily and you just update weekly?", but why wait for a week when we can just dump it daily?

That's the issue with any sufficiently popular series, people want shit ASAP, and why I'd rather stick to random monthlies.
I see that argument, but pacing yourself with a monthly gives better quality control.

maybe ill wait for when my local library has most of the volumes. I jsut feel swamped and like to multitask.

Huh? We were behind before we even got started. Don't get me wrong, Underdog does good work finding diamonds in the rough(Komi for example), but they don't really keep a consistent release schedule. We were something like 30 chapters behind when I took over, and frankly trying to do more than a chapter a week would have resulted in losing staff and the project, so we just plugged away knowing full well that we were behind and never going to catch up.

I don't know the situation behind Kaguya, but I do think it's silly having two different groups work on the same project. It's a waste of effort.

Um... you mean Jitsu or the new manga?

jitsu. like compare to anime backolog(like 3) my manga backlog is big and getting bigger.

Fair enough. It's a large chunk of manga for sure.

how many volumes are out so far?

>Huh? We were behind before we even got started.
So? Not like it got contested by anyone else, even if there was ample space to but in.

Don't get me started on the Kaguya mess.

Officially translated? Uh... Volume 9 will be out later this month. It has 20 volumes total.

Really not sure what your argument is anymore.

>>Translations lagged behind a bit. I think they even waited for tankobons.
The scan quality was notoriously bad from the first chapter, I remember when Tarage posted the raws they had to use, it was like a phone book that had been left open in the sun for six months.

Honestly I couldn't imagine Jitsu attracting a scanlation war.

>9/20
damn well i the mean time I will clear my backlog then.

>>why not backlog for a week a dump as a batch?
>Have you seen the mess that is Kaguya?
>People get VERY upset if they don't get their manga RITE NAO.

What is my Argument? Basically not being up-to-date with chapters can work (unless Sup Forums gets impatient and just starts a scanlation binge making up the intermediate chapters), as you have inadvertedly demonstrated.

(OT: Regarding Bird Cafe did you dump ch15 on Sup Forums?)

Kaguya is easy as fuck to clean, redraw, and typeset. The only thing that takes time is translating.

Ah... I understand. The thing about Jitsu though is that the backlog was there from the start. If it isn't... well... you get Kaguya.

Nigger Jitsu was never popular enough to be picked up by multiple groups, don't even compare this garbage to Kaguya.

Wow okay buddy.

I forgot to say, no I don't believe we did. I could be wrong, it's been a while. We're going to get started here in a few weeks.

If Fascans hadn't butted in, then they would have just released chapters at their pace. (I don't know if they even continue working on it.)

Most of the time I don't even know whose chapter was dumped. Nobody uses tripcodes or some other form of attribution. (But it's most likely the Fascan one).

>Jitsu was never popular enough to be picked up by multiple groups,
true
>don't even compare this garbage to Kaguya
Just stop.

>If Fascans hadn't butted in, then they would have just released chapters at their pace. (I don't know if they even continue working on it.)
If Fascans hadn't butted in, I would've sniped it with gook scans or at least done live TL but since they're fast enough there's no need.

Will you occasionally drop in in the eventual RAW threads of his new series? Just speculating, discussing and having a good time?

If he does he better drop the trip since he's not translating it.

They're willing to take risks, unlike a lot of others.

Probably this. I only put the trip on to answer questions about scanlating it.

>(I don't know if they even continue working on it.)
Yup. Delays happened (raws being late + christmas + tech. problems). Should be out soon.

>not scanlating on Christmas
Plebs, I bet you're normalfags and go out to parties.

I did scanlate on Christmas, actually, just not Kaguya.

Never got the hype for Kaguya. can't stand that style myself...

I could say the same shit about Jintsu.

I love both, but Kaguya has definitely fallen off a good bit. Still love it and it's better than most, but early Kaguya was god tier.

that's only a problem with kaguya because jag was a fucking troglodyte.

You don't actually believe jag dropped it because it got licensed right? He had already said before that even happened that he was considering dropping it since doing a weekly manga on his on the day he gets raws was tiring.

>on his on
on his own on*

I don't care why, jag was a troglodyte and let a bunch of spoiled teens post fucking autismo garbage between literally every page instead of telling them to fuck off. now spoiled teens are waiting for their threads so they can shitpost about how ishigami is /OURGUY/

Are you the OCD retard that whined about how people made replies to pages before the dump was over in the latest thread?

Are you one of the autistic teens that can't stop posting shitty reaction images?

I don't even get to the threads until hours after you fucking retard. Thanks for confirming you're that OCD retard.

Thank god another good group picked up kaguya instead of that notjagman "Sup Forumsnonymous" group. Their forced memes are just ugh.

>when MouTel comes back from the dead

What's going on with that series, is it on hiatus? I missed any discussion about it.

At least Nagisa won another bowl

>RAW

It's not an acronym.

>It has 20 volumes total.
it has 22

What did she win? Looks like she came in second there.

Substance > artstyle.
Feel free to go back to Black Clover anytime, user.

>implying I even go to the threads
Not a chance faggot. At least I know for sure now that the threads are still full of down syndrome

>Substance > artstyle.
Too bad Jitsu wa has neither.

Is that gender bent Mikan? I'm not sure how I feel about that...

>Girl looks EXACTLY like girl from previous/current running manga of the mangaka

STOP DOING THIS. At least I can commend him for making the MC look unique.

He looks like garbage.

I'm the kind of guy who takes 'garbage' over 'Wait isn't this the guy from the previous manga?'

>Magic academy
sounds like a playground for creepy shit, so fingers crossed

user....it says manga academy not magic

so Bakuman in school

Sign me the fuck up.
I need more actual romance in my life after being subjected to TLJ

>Write an Anime Plot thread turned into a real manga

I think it's on break for a volume, but this is Tomo-long tier.

>Their forced memes are just ugh
Thanks for the opinion, reddit.

Evans is a better Kaguya

>We already committed to Bird Cafe as the next project.

Goddamit at last.

Stop being an autist. Sup Forums also thinks the new "old" group does a crappy job. They should be grateful kaguya got stolen from those hacks.
