Did you download animes and mangas from mIRC user?

Did you download animes and mangas from mIRC user?

I still do from time to time.

Yes but,
>animes and mangas
>s
kill yourself.

HexChat reporting in

>animes
>mangas

For a while now, everything that's not seasonal.

I only used it to play GSBot

I unironically stream because my uni blocks p2p.

nipponsei was the shit

I've never had much luck with downloading stuff from IRC. Did some fansubs at one point and some comic books at another but it's a lot harder (for me at least) to find a room that does downloads on IRC for stuff I want than just using torrents.

>animes and mangas

Is Minglong dead now?

no i stream anime on youtube
i dont read manga because how the bubbles go wrong way

I used to download from Kazaa

newfag

Bearshare

>animes and mangas

I know, it's animi and mangi.

Until I got an account on AB, yeah. Used nibl mostly.

#news on Rizon

mIRC is harmful. Use a FOSS Client like HexChat, ChatZilla, irssi or weechat.

never but I use Jap p2p if I can't find what I am looking for

I did, does it still work?

My god this thing is still alive? I was addicted to this shit in 2003-2006 it destroyed my high school grades

Yes its still alive and kicking

Yeah, Rizon (especially #news) still has a whole bunch of download bots.

These days there are better options than mIRC on the client side, though. I recommend HexChat.

Since 2003, still have my old client with tens of dead translations groups like c1, lime, kiss, frostii, rumbel etc. I miss idling in gotlurk.

Wrong its animu and mangu XD

I still do fuck torrents

Lots of interesting people on IRC. Also great for piracy.

>gotlurk

Woha! Now thats a blast from the past

I used to xddc from bots on rizon but switched to torrents because i could automatically download new released for current shows i follow.

if there's tool to easy automate irc downloads i'd give it a try.

I was about 50/50 between mirc and pic related.
>PM me on Noated for the new batch of Inuyasha episodes

Back when the internet was young and chatting with people entertaining.

Of course, it's the way oldfags groupchat.

Is HexChat the best client nowadays?
Irssi Sup Forumsfags don't bother replying.

This

Chatting with people is still entertaining. But communication evolves wildly, Facebook killed IRC and now all the cool cyber kids are on Discord

no

Fuck social media it destroyed everything

HexChat is a very capable tool. It's the MPC-HC of IRC clients.

Isn't Sup Forums a kind of social media though?

I would argue that IRC is much more of a social media than imageboards.

No. It's an anti-social media.

If you can't stand terminal interfaces at all, yeah, HexChat is the best option. I personally think TUI clients are the comfiest though

Which 9gag derivative is that filename from user?

No. Don't redefine terms so broadly that everything counts.

Gotlurk was the single best place for stuff, and still would be if it hadn't crashed and burned.

Please don't positively portray Hiro or his competencies. Please don't buy into the 'can't speak english' lie either. Stop spreading it.

[UR]Dan for raws was awesome.

So... Freenode or Rizon?

Thanks, got a good chuckle out of that.
iOS
How else would you define it then?

I still haven't used discord yet. Is it just for chat, or can you host/distribute on it?

Does Freenode hostmask you automatically?

IRCHighWay

Not him but Discord is basically a dolled up facebook/MSN derivative mixed with a HINT of team speak

I haven't either but it's my understanding that it's a much more developed IRC. Can do voice chat, conference calls, you can post memes, have avatar, etc.

The lads at Sup Forums say it's not as safe as IRC though.

They both fit different niches so you can't really say one or the other.

Thanks.
>The lads at Sup Forums say it's not as safe as IRC though.
I'll leave it alone for the time being

Uni blocks p2p here too. I downloaded Junji Ito, Toji no Miko, and all of Devilman today from hsubs irc

You mean animey and menga and JAYYYROCK

Been 4channing since 2006 but have never used IRC in my life.

GAROOGAMESH

This.

>4channing

You sure have.

These
Also I had to use IRC to eg a mod to unban me for one of those bullshit proxy exit node bans

used to pair nibl with nyaa. stopped ever since I got into AB.

Do you have a problem with that term

I get anime from IRC sometimes, torrents are usually easier though.

I still idle around in some channels, like I have since the early 2000s somewhere.

Some, but good day to you!

I've been called an idiot for many years

>tfw i used to download and share jpop/rock albums and talk about them with my cyber friends

I wouldn't go that far but the term really does sound awful.

4channing with my 4channers

AND GAYMEN

L’arc~En~Ciel - driver's high.mp3

>not downloading your anime in 16 parts off usenet

No, I trawled countless forums and chats to get direct download links. If I could remember any of them, I'd like to revisit them and see how many still exist.
I especially want to know where I got these .rmvp files.

>you have to be an user to get to the link
>register with email for that kinda shit
>link's dead

or

>link's megaupload

I used to download rmvb naruto episodes from some fan site, avi was too large for my dial up connection

>link is Rapidshare

Large (for the time) videos just meant downloading overnight on dialup.

stoptazmo

>you need to post on the forum to download shit

...

nihonomaru was decent for artbooks back then.

Downloading video over HTTP is the goddamned worst. Sometimes I'll find a JAV that appeals to my esoteric interests, but the only way to get it is to download four RARs at slow retard speed, one a day.

Reminder that you can still run a SIP server for this on your LAN and party like it's 2001.

Hardly ever used IRC so don't know how to. Torrents are too easy to get nowadays so never felt like learning. Will probably bite me in the ass one day.

I want to log in just to change my status to away

Man, this thread takes me back. #Gotlurk was the shit. Any good channels for manga downloads nowadays? I wanna get back into irc, but haven't kept up with it in years. Any other channel recommendations?

He's not, though. Sup Forums is, by definition, social media. The content is purely user-generated, and the whole point is to socialize. It's just anonymous and there's no profiles, so you have no idea who is making the content.

Virtually all of the internet has been social media, all the way back to when it was basically just UseGroup and universities websites. The thing that killed the old internet was making it a way to validate the Every Man's ego while selling products to people with mass marketing.

Shit went downhill once social media transformed from
>user generated content in a dedicated community about specific or specialized topics, mostly to exchange useful information, tools, and/or technology related to those topics
into
>user generated content about the users themselves for the sole purpose of interacting with each other without the intent of sharing anything other than personal information or job-searching, designed around a mechanism to deliver advertisements by taking advantage of basic human psychology

So you just sit in the channel and request a bot to give you the file?

No.

Yep, I recently stopped doing it since I got accepted into AB. It was incredibly useful when I was still attending school, because torrents were blocked.

Yeah. Most bots are programmed to respond to the @find or !find commands. You use those commands to search for a file, then you pick one bot and type its command for the file (something like /msg BotName xdcc send 671).

There are also packlists you can request from the bots (/msg BotName xdcc list), which contain all the files that particular bot offers.

Ever since sketchy jap man took over and started data mining like Mark Zuckerberg himself were in charge it might as well be

I need to get 30 days activation crack first

Curious how old are you?

Just use Hexchat

I still do, it's easier now than it ever has been before.

Before you had to know the right channels that had the right bots, unified news channels were filled with bullshit, and even then some bots wanted you to be in certain channels.
Right now I can just search nyaa for a new release, @search the release on the news channel, and 20 bots message me. It's great. I wish we had this ten years ago.
