>kadokawa producer
I'm going to pirate everything and there's nothing they can do about it.
>Kadokawa
its like they are shilling for their comics for some reason
Who cares if you pirate it?
If these idiots actually wanted to make money they'd do everything in their power to make it available to the western audience. They only have themselves to blame.
user you're taking the views one 1 producer over others who have said the opposite and going with that as fact? What? Isn't it better to consider all the opinions or maybe look at the majority and go from there?
>He said that even titles that fail to create a buzz in Japan have sometimes become very successful overseas, and many titles have turned out well from the viewpoint of production committees. Tanaka said that domestic sales for his company can be poor, but the company is able to recover from the loss.
Literally also says the same shit despite his views.
Came here only to post that this show was my favourite show of the season.
I bought it for the bonus items, and as a way to celebrate the fact that I have money again and will in the foreseeable future.
It goes both ways. You simply can't generalize the importance of physical sales as it is always dependent on the production committee, the companies that are a part of it and their place in the hierarchy.
>KDKW
Into garbage disposal.
Did it flop?
FucKadokawa
>B-BD sales don't matter!
Who the fuck ever said this?
Every sales thread ever.
Show me a producer that says that BD sales are not important.
This faggot
Not exactly but still not enough. Still 18 days left.
>please buy it
Done.
You do know that most companies have been doing the same for almost all shows for many years, right? It's a pocket change compared to BD and source material sales.
>It's a pocket change
It is not.
What is pocket change is BD sales in first week of show airing, which are the numbers Sup Forums masturbates to. They are irrelevant. The shows in general pay for themselves not in short term, but over span of 3-5 years or longer. Its not like it stops selling after its released. To that adds money from merch, reruns, overseas rights etc.
Now the model is being changed since streaming becomes MUCH more profitable. Keyword China. Netflix being second.
In particular taking example of KyoAni VEG - they already recovered big part of investition by Netflix and Bilibili streaming rights. Got money from the prior KyoAni events, showing it in cinemas, and selling "starter packs", Veg animation books and merch prior to show even released. That aside from boosting novel sales resulting in VEG being sold out repeatedly, and it serving as advertisement for novel 3 in spring.
KyoAni in general gets VERY big part of the profits from merchandize and events - they shifte to making events (akin to how Idol shows do and VA events) regularly, both selling merch there and profiting from tickets. For example for Free! its big BD sales are nothing in comparison to what its earned by other sources thanks to fandom buying merch and visiting events. Additional model is the very tight cooperation with Lantis for music stuff.
Immidiate BD sales if good are nice bonus, if not are not that relevant. Problem with them you cant count on them - while other revenue sources are stable and measurable.
>They are irrelevant
They aren't. Read the producer's interview.
anime.eiga.com
BD sales are more than just a measure of financial success or failure, they show the attitude of the fans towards the show and thus become the defining factor whether or not it'd get another season.
>Its not like it stops selling after its released.
The sales past the first few weeks are insignificant unless it's some very popular franchise with long-lasting fame that keeps attracting attention. Sure, it will sell a bit more over the years and maybe eventually break even or make some profit but no sane producer would invest in it again unless he's desperate or really likes it or something.
>Immidiate BD sales if good are nice bonus
Producer literally says the opposite. BD sales are the core component while everything else is more like an extra profit.
>Kadokawa producer angry about world
Your point?
I'd trust his word more than kyoanus fag's wet fantasies.
Don't worry, retards will misinterpret it as usual and will keep spewing bullshit.
Maybe they should stop wasting money on producing shit anime like SSR.
Kyoani fags already damage controlling the imminent low sales Violet evergarden will have.
