Is it too late to properly get into Love Live? I feel like its golden age has passed.

Love Live is passé, im@s is where it's at.

You can still watch the anime, Aqours are still doing stuff, and there's a new game and movie coming out. Just watch it if you want to. OG and Sunshine are one of the better idol shows out there.

Love live is eternal golden age, user.

Just start watching, you'll get into it soon enough.

They just got a new season for sunshine. Its never to late to be an Idol lover.

PDP stuff is coming out soon so you can still join that ride, user

Man, Wonderful Stories is really a strong contender for the best song of the whole franchise.
It's tearjerkingly beautiful.

Mari's hotel.

I can assure you that it's still massive in nipland, there is so much love live stuff. Therefore I would say that it's still going strong, maybe not snow halation level strong but that's just because the novelty is gone.

That's a nice way to bring up meme halation, I almost did not notice.

Now is the best time to get into. You’ll avoid shipwars and shitflinging.

>OG and Sunshine are one of the better idol shows out there
>Sunshine
I'm still struggling to finish this shit.

>You’ll avoid shipwars and shitflinging
Don't lie to him.

There's still Perfect Dream Project, the new game, the Sunshine movie, and plenty of other cash cows for Lantis so I doubt the Love Live train will be applying the breaks anytime soon

I thought Perfect Dream Project was just a codename for SIF All Stars and that those nine girls from Nijigasaki aren't all a single group under that name, they're just new (and returning) girls that appear within the game.

Okay, so apparently they are a group of nine despite being split into groups of three based on what app they promote. Those are essentially subunits.

So while PDP referred to SIFAS and not their group specifically, the fact that they ARE a new group means we'll probably see more of them anyway.

It is never too late!

Right, but they won't replace Aqours or Muse for that matter.

Nah it's just as shitty as it has always been.

How can she be so extremely cute?

The best moment was when it aired, the second best moment is today.
Either that or you can wait for the eventual PDP anime

Aqua > Yuzu anyway

Lick best girls.

u's age has passed you should watch sunshine if you want to get into love live.

Watch Sunshine if you want to hate Love Live.

The characters are enjoyable and the music is great. If you want to get the most enjoyment out of it you need to branch out and enjoy Love Live in all its forms, not just the anime (Dengeki entries, manga, School Idol diaries, live concerts and events, School idol festival etc.)

Be warned though. The fanbase is pure cancer.

I got into Love Live last year
No regrets

Start with the original Love Live anime. I found it more enjoyable than Sunshine was. For a full experience play the game as well - it's a decent rhythm game and it'll introduce you to the songs pretty fast. At high difficulties it can get a bit challenging and quite fun too.

OG Love Live gets better and better with each episode and the girls grow on you even if they seem generic at first

Sunshine is the polar opposite though - you get into the show with great expectations and it slowly becomes offensively mediocre despite the great character designs and in S2 directors have no idea what they are doing

Whatever you say, dude. Sunshine was perfectly enjoyable for me. And looking at the popularity here, you're the minority.

>hurfdurf it's more popular so your argument is invalid

this is not Sup Forums

Too late to watch it ongoing
Too early to witness a new gen
Just in time to enjoy cute seiyuus

>you're the minority
He isn't, the only people on Sup Forums who like Sunshine are the circlejerkers in the Sunshine general. Whenever Aqours are brought up outside of that thread they get shat on. Sup Forums as a whole still prefers µ's.

3DPD shouldn't try to act cute, it always looks stupid.

I'm talking about Japan though, and as long as it's popular here (which it is) noone cares how much some fags on Sup Forums keep shitting on it.

>on Sup Forums
Newsflash, noone cares about Sup Forums outside of Sup Forums.

your reply implied talking about Sup Forums popularity but go ahead move that goalpost I don't care

Rereading it, my bad, here could indeed be understood as Sup Forums. That was not my intention. I'm not trying to move goalposts, just adding the alternative voice to the 'Aqours is shit" bandwagon that is a rather vocal subset of Sup Forums.

I mean, sure, but it's just not a very good show.

Just watch the first season, you can skip or ff the songs.

>skip or ff the songs
What the fuck.

>you can skip or ff the songs.
We definitely don't need more secondary shitters like you.

>watch show about idols
>skip the songs

...

...

Don't let them bully you I watched OG LL after Sunshine and I had to skip them because the CG was infuriating.

>you can skip or ff the songs

I like most of the Aqours girls, but Sunshine was horribly handled. From u's we had them actually having fun while doing idol stuff making the disbanding actually harsher. From Sunshine the girls took second place to the story which was either copied from the original or forced. Why did they give a fuck about that fucking school was poorly planned.
First season was fun, Sunshine felt like a chore. And I blame Chika and the director.

>skip or ff the songs
Do you even idol?

Chika is actually a better leader than Honoka. It pains me as I love Honk from the bottom of my heart but still.
Muse gad fun, Aqours had difficulties to overcome (and those were generally better than that of OG). Also, first half of SS2 ep 13 was probably the most beautiful part of whole LL.
At the end of the day, it really comes down to personal preference and I love both OG and Sunshine more than anything else.

Chika is such a mary sue, they went through all the problems with the power of SHINY

Meanwhile Honkers had to learn how to manage a group of idols and her personal problems costed their team a Love Live in S1. This was much bigger problem than Sunshines trying to save the school for 1,5 of season (which invalidates the point of S1 where they decided to not be Muse's) even though the fight was lost since the beggining and it was all Mari throwing a hissy fit at her parents giving everyone false hope

>Chika is such a mary sue, they went through all the problems with the power of SHINY
Not really? She had to solve quite many problems on the way. Most were animated, some remains in the side stories.
Also, I think the biggest issue of SS is that they won't the LL. I mean, they deserve it, but it was a bit too sudden after all the struggle.
If you want a Mary Sue, Honoka is closer to one. She doesn't even have any flaws (laziness at best) meanwhile Chika has quite many of them.

They are both our great leaders though, and I'd much rather see a new season with that 18 than a new set of 9.

Before all this shit flinging starts I will say in no shape of form they are Mary Sues, look up the definition for it if you have hard time understanding it.
Honoka and Chika are not perfect creatures who can do no wrong. Honoka clearly had problems with the group management which escalated near the end of S1 and Kotori, while Chika greatly overestimated her abilities before first Love Live.
Problem is that Sunshine ultimately is the story about Chika overcoming obstacles and finding her shiny and whatnot along the way. She is much more developed than Honoka because it is her story, while Muse is about them 9. Muse's final message was that this group is only for them and their school while Chika's resolution was that she shined all the way.

Erm...
Listen again to what she says, user. You should know Japanese well enough to perfectly understand Chika's monologue. Yes, it was her who was obsessed with Kagayaki, but when she found it, it was a bit different and not only her own.

What did they mean by this?

OGLL put me into a few months of depression and quit SIF after the movie, luckily I'm indifferent to Sunshine so there's that

Just start from the begging and watch all the way to now. Its a long ride but a fun one.

My only gripes about this season was the fact they did a lot of how should I describe it, do-over endings where they would have something bad happen to the them then surprise! We will give you what you want anyway and Chika was always the last to know, like they were playing a prank on her or something. Then there was my predictions about the original cast making an appearance and we all seen how that turned out.

If you want to get into LL then make sure you consume everything. The anime is probably the weakest media in the franchise, especially the original first season. Sadly it's the largest though so if you don't like it then it'll be hard to enjoy everything else. The franchise is still going strong so it's not too late to join.
All I will say is that if you expected a muse cameo then you're foolish.

im@s was never good outside porn.

SID is trash though

>If you want to get into LL then make sure you consume everything. The anime is probably the weakest media in the franchise, especially the original first season.
Fucking this. Assuming you don't live in Japan, like the most of Sup Forums, still you should look for ways to get more engaged with LL. The game, side story manga, seiyuu things (yes, secondary faggots will deny this but it's pretty important and gives you a stronger bond), etc. Or, just move to Japan, like some of us did.

>Move to Japan just for Love Live
Your dedication is strong. May your idol protect you.

Well, it was not only for LL but it did play a strong part in it. Chilling in Numazu today, watching Aqours tomorrow on Dengeki 25th. Best shit ever,

i only feel sorry that you won't get to experience the many kino stuff that happened (new gens, 21th September, Final Live, etc)
I feel really sorry, because, otherwise, that's just another anime-of-the-hype thing and that's all.

Ruby

Where the manga ever officially localized?
All I can find is German shit.
If not, what a baffling decision.

i wish i was you user, my dream is to watch an love live infront of me but... i dont live at japan

Is it true you can make it in Japan only knowing English?
A guy I knew said people won't even want to talk to you in Japanese for starters.

Imagine being such a weeb that nobody want you or won't miss you in your home

>never moving out because you think people will miss you

Enjoy never being independent. At some point, you have to consider your well being over others.

Not him but I hear it's only possible in cities like Tokyo. Also I'm sure people will be more comfortable speaking to you in Japanese if you knew it rather than broken English.

I don't really mind for the other Love Live stuff but that last election was something. I haven't had that much fun in a long time.

I want to at least visit Japan once in my life during a vacation, but I'm scared shitless since I never left my country.

It's possible (mainly in bigger cities) but you will be a tourist forever. Also, you can get into situations where no Japanese fucks you over hard, e.g. opening a bank account or any state administration outside of wards that have international universities.

It depends how they rise you in the end.
"To be home for your sick mom, to be home for your brother in need, or to play a free bird ignoring all the shit around you just for your own sake?"

user, I'm being missed, but the people that miss you will understand this is better for your own. Plus, you can always fly back to visit. Can't wait for supersonic passenger crafts tho. 16 hours sucks.

As long as you remember that the best Sunshine and the best LoveLive happen to be the same girl, you’ll do fine

>but the people that miss you will understand this is better for your own
>implying
Every house is a bran new world, kid

Don't worry, do a little research before you, learn IRL culture first, plan where you to go, plan what you want to see, budget properly, and finally don't be an ass and don't make it a weeb only trip. I have been to 12 countries and it gets easier every time.

I have no idea what the fuck you mean, maybe this 3 tall strongs are to blame.

I know there have been a lot of YoshiRiko shipping but you shouldn't mix them up, user.

>Lily
>People think we are YoshiRiko
>Even the anime lumped us together
Damn you baka chuuni.

Nico fags are the worst. That alone is a sin this franchise has commited.

My nigga.

chuuniggers, makiplebs and honkshitters are way worse

t nikonigger

>True
>Kill yourself in the most gruesome way imaginable
>True

Where did Riko learn that move?

ah ok, i give you a piece of crucial advice.
its a franchise to enjoy watching seiyuus and anime is just an appendix.
just try to find your favorite seiyuu first, if you want to get into it

Maki is the plebbest raibu, only good for porn.

If you really want to get into it, keep in mind that LL is a multimedia franchise. The anime are just a fraction of the experience.

>Yoshiko had more soul in one short scene in a music video than in the entire two seasons of the anime

You can always enjoy Muse, Aqours is another question.

Even if you don't like her chuuni antics she still has some great moments in the anime like her episode in S1.

>being lumped in with best chuuni is somehow bad

You should be grateful, user-kun

>Anime timeline
>Manga timeline
>Dengeki timeline
>PVs timeline
>SIF timeline
>All-Stars timeline
How deep does the rabbit hole go?

Same, but I'll quit when Aqours disbands.
