parasyte was much better as an actual story with character. Devilman was a real enjoyabe ride, good looking and good sounding, but the story is a bit... all over the place.

Both have unnecessary art style and current year updates but Parasyte is easier to look at. There's no point for most of Crybaby when the 80s OVAs exist.

Both are fine. Anime Devilman was better though. They used the modernizazion to their advantage to introduce new layers to the story whereas in parasyte it just led to shitty out of place dubstep. Like the ost is literally Devilman ost>>>>>>>>>>>>>shit>>>Parasyte ost.

That's quite accurate. I wanted more like or better after watching Parasyte, Tokyo Ghoul looked similar. However, TG is horrible and way too cheesy. Parasyte was dark, traumatic, and sad, but it did so without the retardedness of TG

Also the art in Parasyte is LEAGUES above the Devilman garbage.

Devilman inspired Berserk, Evangelion, Madoka, HxH, Parasyte, Attack on Titan, Kemonozume etc. but it's still better than all of them.

The Parasyte anime is better executed, but the Devilman anime has better production (art, animation, sound, etc.)
However Devilman is actually a better story, they just didn't execute it to its full potential and it feels kind of lacking

Yes, the art and animation is better than in Parasyte, which is your typical Madhouse production. Neither is bad, but there's really nothing about Parasyte that makes it better than any other Madhouse anime. And the character designs are shit compared to the manga's.
There's literally nothing even wrong with the frame you posted, you could have at least picked one that actually looks like shit.
Anyway, just compare Devilman to Ping Pong, which is an anime that ACTUALLY looks like shit. Both were directed by Yuasa, so the difference should be clear.

Parasyte isn't just about pollution, it's actually mostly a simple straightforward emotional story; but if you want to get into grander thematic stuff, it's a contemplative work about the morality of the self serving nature of animals, and the difference between loving "the Earth" and loving everything on it.

Parasyte had a more coherent plot with better characters and an overall cleaner art direction.
Crybaby had expressive art, a stellar soundtrack, and smart directing that devolved into a poor recreation of Shiki.

I enjoyed Crybaby more, but Parasyte proved more coherent.
