Does anyone else hide their anime habit?

Does anyone else hide their anime habit?

I do, if only because of the potential loss of face were it out in the open.

>Only really talk anime with people I know like it too.
>Never mention it to my family or even let them see it when I am watching anime or lurking Sup Forums.
>Only watch anime/play weeb-tier games with headphones on.
>Never watch anime in public, or even look at shit than can be considered weebish outside of my house or already established friends
>When I see something anime related in public, I don't acknowledge it, even if I really want to have a look/buy it, especially when out with people, even with previously established anime fans.
>Low tier merchandise only, only figures I have are Digimon and Transformers, all manga hidden well.

I am I sperging out too much, Sup Forums, or does anyone else go to such lengths to hide their habit from others?

no and you're a fag for doing it

>Revealing your powerlevel willingly
Normalfags don't need to know.

i do the same OP you're not alone in your closetweebness

I do the same.
I think the reason why anime fans are perceived so badly is because only the worst of us will admit we watch it.

hide till you die

>being insecure

>what are you watching
oh just a tv show
>what show? I love tv!

I'm not actively hiding it, but I'm also not very eager to share, because I'm aware a lot of it is kinda silly.

I only hide because I would have to go out of my way to reveal myself. Nobody pays attention to what I do in public anyway and nobody would talk to me about anime unless they liked it to begin with. I would have to be really obnoxious about it to get anyone to notice.

>I think the reason why anime fans are perceived so badly is because only the worst of us will admit we watch it.
Oh, so it's sorta like rape. Maybe anime needs a hashtag.

I not even hide my powerlevel I usually also make fun of anime fans in general.

Why is Sup Forums so insecure and superficial?

Most people I know watch anime, but the intersection of shows we've watched is usually just limited to Sup Forums's sacred cows. I was surprised at how fucking enormous the weeb section was at B&N.

Hide it from whom? No one gives a shit about me or what I'm interested in.
Likewise I don't go out of my way to advertise that I like anime because no one cares.

>I am I sperging out too much, Sup Forums, or does anyone else go to such lengths to hide their habit from others?
>go to such lengths
There's nothing wrong with (almost all) the things you listed, that's only normal. Why would a sane person would talk about animu/mango with someone who clearly have no knowledge needed and barely got anything to say?

>>Never watch anime in public, or even look at shit than can be considered weebish outside of my house or already established friends
Tbh I don't even understand how the fuck there's people who find it comfy enough to watch shit in public, even if it's not anime.

The last two: now that's you being ashamed of your hobby in a way that harms the whole experience.
If you like it - buy it. First of all, no one fucking cares about the shit you buy and (You) too. I mean really. Second of all, being anime fan nowadays is not such a big thing already, half of my colleagues have watched some shit they heard to be good, and there's shitton of ironic weebs, so you're pretty much fine if your environment isn't full with retards.
And the only manga that should be hidden is your porn stash (although something tells me you have one). It's just comics, but japanese. If there's no lewd/freaky stuff, you're safe with your parents/whoever the fuck you live with.

>because no one cares
Same here.

Mostly because I don't like being around others (anime watchers) unless I know them from other activities and have some kind of guarantee that they've got their shit together. The word "weeb" is a huge, flashing warning light. If someone I don't have any previous context with uses it in conversation as either a standalone word or in conjunction with another word, it's a solid guarantee they're some kind of raging and intolerable faggot.

As long as you avoid being one of those faggots that go around with naruto headbands its ok.
I keep it to myself unless someone brings it up, in that case I don't have problem with discussing anime. Same goes for all my figures and manga at home, I don't particulary hide it, but I don't go around showing to everyone who comes into my house.

no because most people aren't worth talking to
inb4 hurr edgy, you fucking fags know this to be true

Yup. I stuff all of my figurines without unboxing them into a shame closet. I don't talk about anime. I avoid those who talk about anime. When asked about anime I only respond with mainstream staples such as Dragonball.

Anime used to be fresh and cool, but it completely ruined its cachet with shit like this became popular. Things could've turned out differently if we kept on the path of Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and Akira.

I don't hide it, but don't go out of my way to share it either, same way I wouldn't talk about sports with someone I know is not into it. You sound way to insecure if you go out of your way to hide it from close friends and family..

this

Omg hai ___^ I’m user-san and I absolutely luuuv @__@ anime

I don't hide it, I just don't talk about it the same way I don't talk about going to the gym regularly or reading books. I find it weird the way some people need to be all IN YOUR FACE about their hobbies.

Most of what you listed is pretty normal for non-spergs, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Anyone should post that screenshot comparing Game of Thrones to anime that went like
>Its more socially acceptable to watch a show where an underage girl sucks a midget's cock than little girls drinking tea

>I find it weird the way some people need to be all IN YOUR FACE about their hobbies.

amerikansky

nice blog

I'm the same, OP

I have 182 manga vols, 7 anime artbooks, 2 high-quality expensive anime figs, and it's all hidden in my wardrobe in tupperware boxes behind plastic wrap and fabric throws

I love my family, but they're extremely judgmental and hateful of cartoons, games etc. so they would despise my hobby and would call me a manchild more than they do already (even though I work harder than both of them)

>hey what in the world are you constantly reading and typing on the computer all day long?

Only hide it to not get asociated with normalshits. Watching anime is a common hobbie nowadays.

I only hate and distance myself from the people who feel the need to make it an identity for themselves like with faux nerd geek chic culture or GIRL GAMER shit rather than just enjoying it for simple entertainment that it is.
