I loved how everyone shat their pants when Hakumen no Mono was around, or even by just mentioning its name. It looked kinda silly but had a terrifying presence and the anime nailed that frightening voice, and was a huge threat until the very end for something that was evil for the sake of it which is usually a shallow motivation but worked wonderfully in this case.
