Make Deku quirkless and instead gives him weapons/gadgets

>Make Deku quirkless and instead gives him weapons/gadgets
>Suddenly he's much more sympathetic
>Suddenly you feel more invested in the plot
>Suddenly the morale of the story makes sense

It's such a shame editors forced the author's hand, though I suppose they did it because they feared the manga wouldn't catch on.

Oh look its this thread again

He’d be more sympathetic if he had put in literally any effort to become a hero before getting the super special power handed to him.

no one cares about your shitty opinion. Deku being discount batman would just fill the manga full of even more asspulls.

This.
Especially when it is so easy to do in modern times with the Internet, online shopping and gyms everywhere, as shown even in Hori own setting.

>Make Deku quirkless and instead gives him weapons/gadgets
>Suddenly you have to write him out of situations he shouldn't be able to get out of due to his own inability because he just so happens to have a gadget involve
>Suddenly he isn't an underdog trying to get used to a power bestowed by him but a marysue who a gadget for anything
>Suddenly the story breaks entirely and there's no reason to get invested in what happens

This is why not everyone should write a story folks!

Should have just given him a power from the start. In the end he gets an asspulled power anyways so no point making him quirkless.

But he literally did it, you retards. He had to train for months before getting OfA, being swole is step 0 to handle it.

Why does skeleman have it then?

Speedreader detected.
He have a quirk.
It is simply an unknown quirk which is going to be used as an major asspull later on.
So did All Might original quirk.

He trained only because a legendary superhero told him to do it.
What a fucking faggot.

They're implying that he should have trained at the age of 5

>I’ll give you this super special power, but you have to train to get it so you don’t die
>Only trains at all because it’s a requirement for the power, and he has a guarantee he’ll get the power
No. He put in exactly zero effort before being handed the power on a silver platter.

Nah, that's bad execution. It can easily be fixed with explaining what gadgets Deku has on him before the arc starts.

Also how the fuck is a quirkless Deku a Mary Sue but a Deku who has the greatest quirk in existence an underdog?

Why else wouldn't he train other than to receive the power? What would be a point of training beforehand?

If he worship heroes so much, he should have try to go to gym and learn martial arts at the age of 8, which is what most kids do nowadays in places not shitvilles.
Get more friends and stop being a bitch boy.

>It can easily be fixed with explaining what gadgets Deku has on him before the arc starts.
Which breaks tension in the story entirely. This is why you should never be a writer unless you know what you're talking about.

>which is what most kids do nowadays
You should get out of your basement sometimes

DIdn't he want to enter UA before meeting AM ? I assume the fact that there's a physical exam isn't a secret.

Batmanfags, every single time.

>wants to be a hero
>doesn't try to at least become above average physically

>Make Deku quirkless and instead gives him weapons/gadgets
Makes it impossible for him to win without blatant asspull and makes it improbable for a lower middle class high schooler to have access to milkitary grade arsenal.
>Suddenly he's much more sympathetic
Only to utter retards whose entire view of a character is based on external traits instead of his development and mental image.
>Suddenly you feel more invested in the plot
No, because I know that he'll win through utter bullshit instead of his effort and conviction.
>Suddenly the morale of the story makes sense
No it doesn't because I'm taken out of the story entirely and see only the plot devices.

You forgot the not shitville part, user.
Not my fault you live in a shithole with terrible parents.

>Which breaks tension in the story entirely.
How? Knowing the tools you character has is not really an uncommon thing.

Way to not understand the character and just impose your narrow worldview on him. Maybe try re-reading the entrance exams to UA, though being an idiot you probably won't get it anyway.

Remember kids! Always post this page to shut down this stupid argument

>make him quirkless in a long running super heroes shonen
No, you are a shame. A one shot or a short manga would do, but in a longer set how in the fucking world are you going to make him deal with stronger faggots
>but muh batman
Fuck off, 80% of the people have a quirk to deal with.
Please never write anything.

Gadget Deku would never beat someone like Todoroki

OfA Deku can't even beat him.

>ITT:Speedreaders forgetting that its already been stated that humans with quirks>>>>>>>>>>humans without quirks and no amount of gadgetry can close that gap because the humans with quirks can just get gadgets too

>I assume the fact that there's a physical exam isn't a secret.
Its really easy to shut down these stupid arguments. Now imagine a quirkless Deku facing off against this. Do you really think he could pass by "getting ripped" or are you just fucking stupid?

It doesn't shut down anything. If his passion was that great he'd have given a hell of a shot at it no matter what anyone said. But he was a faggot.

You can't have it both ways. You can't wank the MC about his passion while also having him act that way.

Doesn’t need to. He got the points from saving Ochako. Would have been possible to just remove the rocks and carry her to safety, given the small amount keeping her down.

This but then again most of the target audience can't relate to him if he is passionate which just make him Asta.

>It doesn't shut down anything
>The 1# telling you that its impossible for someone to become a hero without a quirk and that he should settle for something more realistic
>still going on that he should have gotten ripped at the age of 5

>Makes it impossible for him to win without blatant asspull
This is wrong, it's simply how the author writes it.
Even then, you're probably trying to apply exactly the story we got so far with a qurikless Deku. Which is a mistake, because obviously the fact that the MC would drastically change like that would also drastically change the story.
For example, imagine if Hori wrote a story where Deku instantly had total control of OfA. Obviously, to not turn the manga into OPM-light, he would've introduced others concepts and enemies that could keep up with Deku to offer him a challenge. And if now, people were suggesting that Deku should have had difficulties in handling his quirk, you would also make the points that he then wouldn't have been able to save himself. But the point is moot, because the story would change anyway.

>Only to utter retards whose entire view of a character is based on external traits instead of his development and mental image.
Sound like you're making excuses for poor developments, but I can guarantee you're wrong about Deku. PLease give an example and I'll rpove it wrong.

>No, because I know that he'll win through utter bullshit instead of his effort and conviction.
Again, see above, and "effort and conviction" would be better shown with a quirkless Deku, since in the first arcs of BNHA, Deku really doesn't show a lot of willingness to practice with his quirk.

>No it doesn't because I'm taken out of the story entirely and see only the plot devices.
Funny, ti's my reasoning as well, because I know Deku has essentially nukes in every limb, so I know he got a get out of jail free card.

>how in the fucking world are you going to make him deal with stronger faggots
Make him create unique gadgets, or make him learn to use the one he has better than anyone else around. Train a lot.

I mean, no one even wonder how Zoro / Sanji keeps up with Devil Fruit users in One Piece, despite being the OP equivalent of normal humans".

>He got the points from saving Ochako
He saved her by destroying the robot Spee D. Reader

Of course he wouldn't have known about shit like that. But the fact remains that he wasn't even suitable to be a fucking cop. How did he think anyone would say "yeah kid, you can be a hero"

You may want to read the manga next time. He saved her by destroying the robot not by removing the rubble.

>hur dur what is BNHA vigilantes for
?????

Did Deku knew he was going to face giant robots at the time chapter 1 starts?

If yes, why did he aim to pass the exam before meeting AM?
If no, why would he gives up, since he had no idea he would be facing giants bots?

>But the fact remains that he wasn't even suitable to be a fucking cop
Because he's 14 you stupid fuck. Most people don't even know if they're going to be a police officer until after highschool hence why most attendees of police academy are well into their 20's

Proving that AM was wrong and that you can, in fact, become a hero while quirkless?

Except we’ve seen quirkless people fight people with quirks (in both the main and the spin off) and they do just fine against them.

More likely he saw a kid who is
1. Clearly not physically fit to be a hero
2. No outstanding traits about him
3. Tell him he’s quirkless

All Might was trying to stop him from committing suicide with a dream he personally couldn’t achieve at the time.

same fagging does win loser

O

Deku was saying he wanted to be a hero since early childhood though.

I like the idea of quirkless Deku showing the world that hard work and determination can still triumph over genetic lottery and becomes a hero, but the fact is how much of the story would change with him not having a quirk.
For instance the sports festival, he still could have passed the first two events, but the fight against Todoroki would have gone completely different since he doesn't have the power to force him to use his fire.

What does that have to do with anything? Kids say that want to be an astronaunt or a firefighter but don't do anything to train until after highschool.

>Ignoring that two of the protagonists have quirks and the third is a 30+ year old man with a build deku never could achieve

In stains idea of what a hero is, but not a BNHA hero.
In my idea sure. But you can't beat shiguraki or AFO with no quirk. And the point is to DEVELOP a contrasting growth of new hero and generation and new villain and generation. Mirroring eachother, learning what it truly means to be X and what it takes to be a good X. simultaneously

I'm not saying he should be completely ripped or anything of that nature. But up to that point he wasn't doing anything to improve his physical attributes. Not even the fact that the entrance exams were less than a year away spurred him into doing any sort of training that wasn't looking at other heros. It took am telling him that he could get powers to actually spur him into action. He lacked a real drive before then, hence me saying he wasn't suitable to be a cop.

fpbp
Of course it is, wouldn’t be Sup Forums without one of these signature low effort bait thread

Whether he knew or not is irrelevant because it ultimately proves that he had no chance to past the test for the sheer fact that he had no quirk. So getting ripped wouldn't have changed anything.

>Except we’ve seen quirkless people fight people with quirks
Kunckleduster is the only one we've seen fight without a quirk and he's not a hero.

>stuff

You';re just spouting shit over being proven wrong

Except you don't pass the test to enter astronaut school at the age of 15.

You both seem to have trouble reading, because I said
>Would have been possible to just remove the rocks and carry her to safety, given the small amount keeping her down.
No reason to attack or confront the robot, given it gives zero points and you can pull her out of the rubble instead (since there’s hardly anything keeping her down at all, seemed to be only a few chunks of concrete) so she doesn’t get stepped on.

>Make him create unique gadgets
>"i guess it can't be helped, i need to use THIS"
Shittier writing than our current shit writing.
>or make him learn to use the one he has better than anyone else around. Train a lot.
That is exactly what he is doing right know, if you want to make him iron man or something with OP gadgets to deal with strong foes it's the same as getting OfA and traing to use it.
Again, shittier writing than our current shit writing.

Also,
>One Piece
There is no point of comparision storywise or even in the genre, shows are just too different. Now kill yourself.

>But you can't beat shiguraki or AFO with no quirk.
The previous arc literally demonstrate how to do it.

Reminder Ochako is built for BLACKING

There's astronaut training camps for kids dumbass.
>. But up to that point he wasn't doing anything to improve his physical attributes
I'm just going to keep pointing to this page anytime someone brings this up. Because its ridiculous how hard headed you retards are.

>Whether he knew or not is irrelevant because it ultimately proves that he had no chance to past the test for the sheer fact that he had no quirk.
Yes, it's very relevant, because it shows how Deku acts in the face of overwhelming odds. Which is a regular theme of work featuring heroes.

>So getting ripped wouldn't have changed anything.
A guy with a tail passed.
A guy who can talk to insects passed
A girl with really big hands passed

>There's astronaut training camps for kids dumbass.
ANd do they let you pass a test that allows you to enter astronaut school after it? No? Then I'm right, fag.

>muh weapons
>muh gadgets
Deku needed to learn hardcore martial arts and then incorporate gadgets and weapons

>starting a new thread with this dumb bullshit

New chap can't come soon enough.

>You both seem to have trouble reading, because I said
You seem to have a problem reading the fucking page that proves your dumbass fucking wrong. He go those points because he SAVE HER FROM THE GIANT ROBOT even in that page All Might stated that it was because of the application of the usage of his quirk that allowed him to past because he used it to save Ochako and beat the robot not just saving her. So no he still would not have passed the test.

>Deku would only be interesting if he were quirkless
Yeah no. He's got the Captain America origin where he spends most of his life weak and powerless and then gets a ridiculous amount of power at once. While not the most deep or thought-provoking character around, you can still get behind him, much like Cap, because he is a genuinely good person who you want to see succeed more than the pompous assholes (Bakugou) or crybaby personal problem children (Todoroki) that usually populate shounen.

Quirkless life is for Mirio to grow on. Deku is already too built into his current character and Mirio is interesting because his story is the opposite.

>I'm just going to keep pointing to this page anytime someone brings this up. Because its ridiculous how hard headed you retards are.
>Let me base myself on events unknown to the characters to explain this same character's actions several months before

Do you hear yourself?

What?
You actually do have to pass a test to get into training to become an astronaut

>Make Deku quirkless and instead gives him weapons/gadgets

So make him talentless and a gun junkie? why do you want Deku to become a burger, user?

A gadget using Deku who risk life and limb to recognize enemy quirks and weakness with the science girl as heroine as his personal gadgeteer would be amazing.

Why the fuck did Jump have a break

Seriously why does Japan have so many retarded holidays at times nobody would care about

>What

stop speedreading though the previous arc and remember that there is a weapon that render all quirks null

>>Make Deku quirkless and instead gives him weapons/gadgets
So you want even more asspulls? Because any explanation for a 16 year old kid being able to buy any meaningful or creating his weapons and gadgets is going to be bullshit.

Yeah just ass pull your battles and remove all the quirks
That would make for a fun and interesting progression story huh

How would it not be saving her from the robot, if you literally move her out of the way of the robots rampage when she’s stuck?

Fundamentally that accomplishes the exact same thing. You save her life from the robot.

16 years old irl already make their own AKs so it's not much of an asspull

I mean it's not like a new chapter will suddenly make retards disappear and discussion any better.

why is your dumb ass thinking we'd be more sympathetic to a gadget user compared to ofa deku? Does him being super smart suddenly make him more relatable to the average reader?

>Suddenly the morale of the story makes sense

Still does. Deku had to work hard to be given ofa.

>the same brainlet keeps pushing the quirkless deku shit
HAHAHAHAHA

Deku should have become a villain instead, to spite the world that spat on him for being quirkless.

faggots that can't read

I know you’re on the same page as me, but I want to use this opportunity to introduce a point

Don’t even bring up Knuckle, there’s a reason Izuku is the only quirkless person in the story and we don’t see anyone quirkless in the main series, not even AM, who, while technically quirkless now, climbed to the top with a quirk.
Not even supposed “almost like quirkless” people like Aizawa, Stain, or Ojiro, who still base their fighting style around their quirk

The spinoff is a fun side read, but it fell to the usual misgivings of a work written in a universe written by another author , that is, it unintentionally shits on the main series’ narrative, and anyone bringing Knuckle up as an argument for quirkless hero should be shot in the head

Stain should've been the MC.

>You actually do have to pass a test to get into training to become an astronaut
You don't pass it at 15, which was my point

Knuckleduster isn't a quirkless hero, he's a guy who beats up drug addicts in alleys. He's been fighting against people who suddenly had their quirks boosted and have no idea what they are doing.

>greatest quirk in existence
But Deku has OfA, not AfO

>A guy with a tail passed.
A tail stronger than any human limb that can break apart the bots.
>A guy who can talk to insects passed
Koda is a mutant with inhuman strength.
>A girl with really big hands passed
Really big and strong hands.

Everyone in 1-A and 1-B are better off than quirkless people are. A human child at age 14 would never be strong enough normally to beat robots designed for combat while unarmed.

The baby engineer makes her own just fine.

>Why the fuck did Jump have a break
Because new year started on Monday

>Don’t even bring up Knuckle
>Don't bring up what proves me wrong

Skeleman is skeleman only because of his fight with AfO, it was mentioned that swoleness was basically his only merit before getting OfA

You kinda do. You need to be a trained pilot to go into space program and to do that you need to start as early as possible. I'm not sure about American astronaut career, but in Russia you have no chance unless you go to pilot school at the age of 16 then draft in airspace division of army right after and have top performance.

One for All beat All for One though. One for All is insane because it just keeps growing stronger to the point that All for One couldn't beat it's raw power. Future Deku in his prime would beat Sensei without getting crippled. His own theoretical successor would wipe the floor with the guy.

What about rescue points? I seem to remember some stuff about being two kinds of way to score points in the exam.

Because she not in the hero course and is using money and resources from the school.

It depends on the rescue. Deku got so many because he destroyed the zero pointer in spectacular fashion. I doubt they'd give as many to someone just shifting some rubble and dragging an injured person away (if you'd even be able to do that in time in that specific case).

Unless you do what he did, rescue points are probably time consuming and only somewhat lucrative. And there's probably only a limited number of scenarios in which people actually need help.

Actually
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrison_Schmitt
Was a geologist, and when he was selected to become an astronaut he spent his first years training to become a pilot.

But still, in MHA you pass the exam to enter the school at 15 (or 16, I don't know). In the real world no one get out of middle school to become a trained astronaut, they go on to become (usually) a trained pilot, and then they pass the selection.

This is what a lot of people seem to misunderstand about quirks, the humans with quirks aren't just normal humans with special abilities, some are just straight up super mutants with inhuman strength while others like bakugo are rediculously strong to be able to handle their quirks, there is even a point made about this how deku nearly breaks his damn shoulder using the gauntlet that bakugo uses with ease

This. All Might's "hero form" is how he looked before his guts for torn out and he eventually started to wither away.

His hero form is either a) just an illusion or strength or some shit or b) him using power from OfA to forcibly inflate his muscles with power, which is probably bad for his health.

The whole reason he was so much weaker in later years was because he no longer had a body capable of his old 100%. His "new" 100% was a shadow of his former power.
