Was going trough my brother room and found this in one of his anime collection.
Is it worth watching it since it look dated.

I remember watching this a year ago
I don't remember anythin.
Why don't you watch it retard?
Yes, it is good. The main character is an asshole and the show pushes some shitty morals for a few episodes, but it's still very much worth watching.
>looks dated
What's that even supposed to mean, anime doesn't age.
Watch and find out retard.
I am, just asking is this anime worth it or not since it look like those generic 90s anime isekai
You can't enjoy in a lot of ways.
So you can enjoy old good animations like a good wine.
>since it look like those generic 90s anime isekai
Name 5.
trigger warning: contains rape
I hate this fucking show so fucking much.
>The main character is an asshole
>Stop Sarah from killing herself and her baby in the town only water supply
>an asshole
Alright you guys gave me a good case points. Will try it out now.
>trigger warning: contains rape
The blue hair girl got raped?
Or the boy?
Either way works for me
It has the worst, most annoying kind of shounen protagonist, a boring Rei clone, and a manchild, mustache-twirling villain for main characters. And it does this while trying to tell a grimdark story about genocide, starvation, and slavery. It's probably the worst show I've finished.
A side character and the only likable one.
The only good moment is when you realize what the name means. Also the child soldiers are the GOOD parts, the main villains and protags are pretty bad.
>what the name means
What it means?
Ignore all the retards who complain that this anime or the main protagonist is shit.
The main protag act on his own belief from ep 1 till the last ep without turning into a massive faggot and for for the fuckers who complain that Shu has no characterization are fucking idiots when the show already tell shu motivation and his character in the first 10 minutes of the series.
Not what it means but the “ ohhhhhh” moment at the end of the series. When it’s revealed it’s time travel not a different world, now and then, here and there
That shit is obvious when you see the water girl from the first time.
This.
Shu maybe an idiot, but he's just a 10-11 year old kid that were isekai'd into hell itself.
I thought the direct translation for the title is Now, I am there
Yeah Sara should just be happy to live and raise a rape child in a dying rape world.
Time travel wasn't really a surprise, the quote shown at the start of every episode strongly hinted towards it. At least that's what I thought
You turn into a massive faggot when you type.
A proper good Isekai
What does the quote mean, by the way? Is it just there to seem deep?
>Better to die than to live and having a 2nd chance in life.
Reminder, the rest of the world does not work on the west ethos, Shu prime belief is that as long as you're alive, one day you can make it.
If anything Sarah determination to keep on living is why I like her.
Pic related.
Sarah killing the soldier is a great scene. Its a good anime. Bleak but not as bleak as some make it to be,
If you want to see what a war torn African Nation is like, then sure.
This.
All I remember about it is how that stupid pregnant cunt decided to stay there.
I'm sorry, I having trouble typing when your mom is busy sucking my cock
The scene where he finally breaks his stick hitting Hando with it was pretty amazing.
Ok wtf, I thought you guys said this anime is kinda grimdark/bleak but all I see is some random generic shounen from the 90s
That stick symbolizes shu child like innocence
Haven't seen any of them, but Those Who Hunt Elves, El Hazard, Maze, VS Knight Ramune & 40 Fire, Fushigi Yuugi
>It has the worst, most annoying kind of shounen protagonist,
The worst part is he learns absolutely-fucking-nothing over the course of the anime. He's the exact same obtuse simpleton at the end as he was in the beiging. I hate him so goddamn much.
My mom is the biggest faggot on the planet so you just proved my point.
Thread Reminder
You think she'd let me suck her dick?
There's no making it in that world though. It's dying. All that's left for Sara is a longer, shittier death that can end in any number of ways and knowing she's subjecting her kid to that hellscape. I think she rejected the opportunity to go back too so it's not like she didn't even have a way out.
It basically just comes down to "enduring hardship sanctifies you" or whatever.
>The worst part is he learns absolutely-fucking-nothing
What's to learn. He is not some troubled young kid with some shady past or anything. Shu is a normal kid who is brave (demonstrated when he is one of the only kid in town to climb the smokestack and carved out his name there) and his pacifist nature. When he went to the future, instead of him learning something, everyone around him started to change from Boo, Nabuca, Sarah even Lala Ru hence why Lala Ru who was hellbent on letting humanity to just die a painful slow death to gave humanity a 2nd chance through Shu action.
Well it took the biggest faggot on the planet to gave birth to a gigantic faggot on the planet.
Who can at least type like a heterosexual.
>Heterosexual
Yeah keep that illusion up
It is an isekai, but it is not a generic one at all.
isekai trash
>what's to learn
Nothing, because he's wearing plot armor so fucking thick he can just charge head-first into gunfire and not suffer a scratch. Causality doesn't apply to him so he never has to learn a goddamn thing.
>his pacifist nature.
because repeatedly smashing a stick into the other guy's head never killed anyone. hooray for pacifism!
No, seriously, the entire anime's a metaphor for the hellish warfare and brutal dictatorship of Africa; were dictators only think of themselves, children are born slaves, Rape is mandatory because it produce more slaves.
This about a first world kid who been thrown into a third world shithole were he's forced to commit genocide because he wanted to protect the smile of what's literally the only source of water on this parched planet; which the dictator only see it as fuel to commit even more genocide.
This is about the Paranoia of Tyranny, the horror of Wars, and the sin of Conquest. The Guy who made this wanted to tell you that these people are real, and what they been through is real; in the most graphic way he can show on television.
>gave humanity a 2nd chance
The fucking sun is supernovaing. There is no second chance. The only thing that was done is extending humanity's life just a little bit and it's not like there's going to be warlords, bandits and whatever other awful people who aren't going to oppress anyone just because there's water now, it's simply another source to war, conquer and kill for.
yes. It's good overall, but It has one of the strongest individual episodes i've ever seen.
>Shu is a normal kid who is brave (demonstrated when he is one of the only kid in town to climb the smokestack and carved out his name there) and his pacifist nature.
Actually he's the embodiment of the UN, Red Cross, and any form of non-violent regime change in Africa. He's an metaphor of peace, love, and bravery, while the Dictator's a metaphor of war, hatred, and paranoia. In fact, both the Kid and the Dictator are POLAR OPPOSITE OF EACH OTHER.
>Now, I am there
Ima, soko ni iru boku
"Now, the me that is over there"
HURR I GUESS NOTHING REALLY MATTERS BECAUSE OF THE EVENTUAL HEAT DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE THEN DURR
In this case yeah because the world was already dying due to the sun. There's nothing left short of humanity somehow miraculously being able to colonize other planets after the series ended.
I mean she could've gone home, she had the opportunity to and passed to stay in the fucking dying hell world. Are you going to commend someone for trying to ride out a category 4 or 5 hurricane or staying in New Orleans when Katrina was coming? She could've gone back with her kid but instead has doomed it and herself to death.
It's not like it was some far off thing, the sun was in the process of going supernova and everything had basically died because of it.
If that's the case, you might kys now, since we only got like 20-30 years to live
At least Lala-Ru might have ended the never ending war for water, since now the whole goddamn planet is full of it and we can continue killing each other for something else before the sun go supernova
There's literally no excusing what happens to Sara at the end. It's there to drive home "she's a mother now" and makes zero fucking sense. It's a retarded, illogical piece of writing. She could've broguht the fucking kids back with her there is literally zero reason for her to stay.
Future Boy Conan is better
I still confuse on why the western audience keep saying that Sara wanted to stay back and help continue sis legacy as a butcher of his characterization,
For the first time in her life she gain control of her life, she can do what the fuck she want, and if she want to stay in the future timeline let her be.
Shu did not convince her to kept the baby, but rather stop her from killing herself by drowning and smash her womb with a fucking rock
Most of you retard lost the theme of the fucking anime which is life, gave life a chance and perhaps one day something good will happen to you
>Its Post-Millennials hating on abortion and peace loving character episode.
Don't listen to them OP, neo-Sup Forums like edgy crawling in my skin protag. The show is good, the character is good hell even the OST is damn good just the final episode feel kinda rush but overall its a good show.
>Most of you retard lost the theme of the fucking anime which is life, gave life a chance and perhaps one day something good will happen to you.
More like use your life to help others live to the fullest.
My main problem of the show is that it didn't explain why it got to this as a reference of how capitalism and outside powers sows the seeds of destruction in order to obtain the wealth of the land (hell, you could blame it on the space riches who gave child dictator the means of conquest as long as he give them the materials from the planet itself).
Yes, absolutely.
At the same time, no, oh god no.
i cried at the end
Don't listen to this nigger. The main character is fine, and the entire show has a movie quality to it. It's really good.
...
In the end everyone dies, that's not really the point
The point is enjoying the time you have before that happens
silly ideas like "colonizing other planets" or "preventing heat death" are just ways for people truly scared of death to rationalize that their lives aren't completely "pointless"
I fucking hated the disconnect between the art style and the material. The art style was too cute for how dark NTHT was
It was pretty meh and forgettable overall to be honest. Only remarkable for how far it went with sheer physical violence/brutality and killing child characters.
But I really like the MC user, He don't go "full ow the edge"
