WA and WA2 is a different series, only set in the same world. So i suggest you just skip WA and go straight to WA2 because WA is so shit. WA2 anime only cover introductory chapter of the VN but it was the greatest love story ever told. Enjoy the ride user.

What, exactly, does Kare Kano have more to say about relationships then TgK and what relevance does that serve in regards to being a good romance anime? I'd say Kare Kano is just as simple as TgK, but that's not a bad thing. Romance stories are better when they're simple and focus on the relationship of the main characters. That's why shit like Nisekoi fails. There's too much bs going on that deviates from the romance aspect.

That's what Kare Kano does, it covers the inner workings of a relationship and its ups and downs much more thoroughly and introspectively than TgK does. TgK feels like the framework of a romance anime that covers all the bases you'd expect but doesn't go in-depth for anything. It's direct and to the point but lacking in flavor.

We must have watched a different Kare Kano because it's not as "deep" as you're making it out to be. TgK was more subtle and less explicit dealing with the main character's relationship, but that doesn't mean it's less thorough than Kare Kano.

It started off great, but it was way too long. The magic wears off after a while.

Those first few episode are excellent, though. I even liked the sister who was in love with Takeo because she was never going to break them up, but the stupid bits of drama the show DID have felt really lazy since you knew there was no consequences.

None of the characters in TgK are even close to being as fully realized as in Kare Kano, that alone pretty much prevents it from being as thorough.

I don't think Shinkai needs to make that same movie yet another time.

Probably still Clannad, but I was really impressed by Tsuki ga Kirei, it's easily the best anime of the last year. Just Because was great too.

Pages like these are the reason I think it's above a LOT of other romance stories. The characters just don't go full-retard in order to force drama like in other shoujo, and do actually communicate and talk shit out rather than let it push them apart.
