Winter 2018

Now that every relevant show has started airing, what are your thoughts on this season so far? Favorite new anime? Biggest let-down?

Other urls found in this thread:

Average season of mediocrity.
VEG seems really good but PTE was a huge let down.

>every relevant show

Darling didn't air yet, I'm watching Toji no Miko and Citrus, I like both

Best to worst:
Yuru Camp
Uchuu yori mo Tooi Basho
Gakuen Babysitters
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
Mitsuboshi Colors
Toji no Miko
Grancrest Senki
Ryuuou no Oshigoto
Märchen Mädchen
Miira no Kaikata
Death March
Hakumei to Mikochi
Slow Start
Ito Junji
Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san
Pop Team Epic

Still have to watch Beatless, Ramens, and Killing Bites.

Haven't even begun watching anything. Everything seems so mediocre and nothing truly stands out.

*conquers the earth*

>no Darling yet
Is OP baiting or just plain retarded?

Oh, I forgot Citrus. Put that around Overlord/Marchen Madchen level.

Impression on Senki?

The shows I've seen so far from best to worst:
>Yuru Camp
>Junji Ito Collection
>Mitsuboshi Colors
>Slow Start
>Violet Evergarden
>Pop Team Epic

For some reason waiting weekly for anime is harder for me than waiting weekly or monthly for manga.

I'm ok with this list, but I would place Ramen Daisuki above Toji no Miko.

Don't judge a book by its cover user! Give some of them a try, you may find something that you like

>ramen daisuki
It's a shit show that deserves to be at the bottom with PTE.

>Now that every relevant show has started airing
When did Darling in the Franxx air?

I would recommend Sora Yori for sure.

Saiki Kusuo S2 hasn't started airing yet moron

Great main girl, interesting magic system, and the plot seems to be heading in an interesting expand-your-domain direction, but it's moving strangely fast and apparently cut some relevant stuff from the LN already. Pretty good overall.

Trigger and Fate haven't started yet so it's meaningless to judge the season. Those two, VEG, and Pop Team Epic have to be judged together.

I know it's early but:
this is the best OP of the Season.

I would second that recommendation for sure.

Can I trust you on Kokkoku?

That's not Kokkoku.

I'm not big on either ramen or foodporn, so I just find it boring.

now this is shit taste

I'll give you a list but I wont tell you the sorting order

>Pop Team Epic
>Grancrest Senki
>Violet Evergarden
>Death March
>Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
>Pop Team Epic

listing PTE as first and last.

I'm getting a feeling that you viewed it as the best/worst show of the season.

Devilman is already AOTS. You can smell the contriveness and tackiness of Violet Evergarden already. Pop Team Epic is literally Ready Player One the anime. Darling is probably going to be Kiznaiver 2.0 and the rest is either yuri garbage or yet another forgettable CGDCT anime.

How many shows do you guys watch in a season anyways? Surely you don't watch all of this, just two or three of them, right?

I'm only watching 1 and this is the first time I've watched an anime as it was being aired in Japan outside of a couple episodes of a simulcast before.

Honestly just 3-5 in general. Just can't get interested in most shows aired when my own daydreams are more interesting.

>two or three of them
If you're only watching two or three anime a season, you better be burning through backlog or else reading a ton of manga, because only spending an hour a week on the board topic would be incredibly cancerous.
So good.

> this is the first time I've watched an anime as it was being aired in Japan
Lurk for two years before posting.

From best to worst:

Yuru camp
Violet Evergarden
Mitsubishi colors
Slow start
Hakumei to Mikochi
Pop team epic
Katana girls
Koi wa ameagari
Overlord 2

Is not like I hated overlord but nothing really happened. It's a very strong season with every show being really enjoyable for me and I don't think I will get bored or drop any of the anime I have picked up.
Still waiting for dagashi subs, darling, takunomi and whatever turns out to be good that for some reason I'm not watching.

cgdctfags are most vocal minority but always the loudest in their shit opinion.

I mostly read manga, not watch anime.

this season is shit i want to die

>Now that every relevant show has started airing
>Fate./Extra has not aired
>Franxx has not aired
>Saiki Kusuo S2 has not aired
What did OP mean by this?

I'm loving it, so many cute girls this season. South pole is a good surprise.
Also looking forward to Darling in the Fran, mecha originals always have me excited.

When has Fate ever been relevant?

You and me both

Accept yuri into your hearts and souls and you shall be saved!

>fate #9001
>literally what
None of those are relevant.

It's good, I wasn't interested in it until I decided to watch it. Blew my mind.

After The Rain has one of the most superb tones I have seen and Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san genuinely made me happy to watch.

Kokku or whatever it's called is generic trash.

Violet Evergarden looks pretty but I don't really see it going anywhere remotely meaningful despite how gritty it wants to seem. Kyoani is still Kyoani.

This is one of the best seasons in years, all the more remarkable for being a winter

>After the Rain
>superb tones
Wit Studio is using the exact same pallet in Magus Bride. It seems really dishonest to reuse the same elements from their previous work, not even a year ago.

another strong season after fall 2017, but this season will have x5 the shitposting.

3-4ish. I've seen nearly 600 anime and I can't be arsed to watch shit I'm not interested in anymore.
That saying, I'm watching 8 shows this season + 2 carryovers from last season.

Way better than I expected, So many great SoL shows that were pretty much better than all of 2017 SoL shows from what I can remember.

Koi wa Ameagari no You ni is underrated of the season, That show is fucking gorgeous.

Has Wit Studio ever made ANYTHING worth watching? They are seriously the worst.

>After the Rain
Lelouch please.

Cardcaptor Sakura is probably the best show that has aired so far. But Yuru Camp is pretty good, and I have to give Yori Moi points for potential.

this pretty much, everyone else is
>muh UNDERRATED anime

I'm so out of the loop. I just started watching that Violet Evergarden shit and figured I'd stick around since they obviously spent so much money animating it. Have no idea what it's even about though.

Currently watching:
>Yuru Camp
>Sora Yori
>Mitsuboshi Colors
>Slow Start
>Pop Team Epic
Favorite so far is Yuru Camp, with Sora Yori not so far behind.
VEG was pretty disappointing so far but I'll most likely finish it. Picked up Hakumei but I'll most likely drop it after a couple episodes if it doesn't get my interest.
Will probably try out Darling as well.

Well it's my underrated, I didn't expect it to be so good.

Since everyone else is doing it I guess I'll do it.

Best to worst;
Yuru Camp.
Mitsuboshi Colours.
Violet Evergarden.
Sora Yori.
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
Takagi San.
Miira no Kaikata
Hakumei to Mikochi
Grancrest Senki
Ito Junji
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens
Pop Team Epic.
Overlord II
Hakyuu Houshin Engi
Killing Bites
Slow Star
Koizumi San.

Dropped Toji no Miko.

Well, I wasn't planning on watching anything other than Yori Moi and Koi wa Ameagari since the beginning (both which have exceeded my expectations by a lot), but if everyone says everything else is that good I guess I'll give some a try.

I watch 2 shows now, but from say 2008-2015 I watched at least 15 shows airing a season. It used to be easier to watch everything airing in winter/summer because only about 15 new shows would air, then they turned into just as big as spring/fall and I couldn't keep up with that shit. Got burned the fuck out.

But there are definitely people watching every show of the season.

What's good about Yuru Camp & Slow Start?

Please don't use 'comfy' meme words. All Sup Forums 'comfy' CGDCT series turned out to be borefests.

My list...
>Sora Yori no Tooi Basho
>Yuru Camp
>Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
>Karakai Jozu no Takagi-San
>School Babysitters
>Mitsuboshi Colors
>Violet Evergarden
>Slow Start
>The Ryou's Work is Never Done!
>Toji no Miko
>Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san
>How to Keep a Mummy
>Pop Team Epic
>Death March to the Parallel World
>Marchen Maedchan
>Record of Grancrest War
>Killing Bites
>Dame x Prince Anime Caravan
>Junji Ito
>Mitchiri Neko
>Working Buddies
>Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls

From best to worst, in my opinion.
Yes I counted the shorts, fuck off.

>why do people like the things I don't like

both are kirara and that's enough for them to be good maybe

it's really comfy
all memes aside I'm also surprised to see people rate Yuru Camp so highly. I mean the girls are cute and I like the show but there's really not that much to it, I wouldn't put it at the top of my list

>Making season rankings when Darling hasn't aired yet

Funny meme.

funny meme

This season is so much fun.
>Sora yori mo Tooi Basho
>Yuru Camp
>Pop Team Epic
>Mitsuboshi Colors
>Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
>Hakumei to Mikochi

I'm really enjoying them all and there is still Darling yet to air and I want to pick up Slow Start too.
The only disappointments were Ryuuou no Oshigoto which I found really boring Violet Evergarden which was terribly mediocre. So far I would put YoriMoi at the top as my favourite.

>that high up
You know it's a meme right? It's doing really bad in Japan too.

Directors targets audience is Western folk, why the fuck would they care?

So this is the kind of people who shit on Violet huh.

I didn't rank them faggot, I just listed them in the order that I downloaded and watched them.

Why is it called YoriMoi?

I'm a dude who loves shows based on fun character interactions. Personally, I believe the way a character interacts with another character develops them way more than any plot or monologue could do.

>I don't enjoy [adjective] things, so please don't use [adjective] to describe anything
You are autistic.

I try all the ones that interest me at the start but by mid season have usually whittled it down to 3-5.

it's like haganai

CGDCT are borefests. For fucks sake even japan is starting to give up on buying the BD & merch.

It's very good.

I'm retarded, I don't get it.

It's the official acronym, they use it as the show's twitter handle and on promo and stuff

Damn, Sup Forums is really loving Sora Yori Mo. Such a good taste.

Super cute girls, funny moments, and a nice idealized outdoorsy atmosphere.

>that pic

I watch all anime as long as those series are entertaining.
If that series is CGDCT at least that series should be as funny & interesting as GochiUsa, K-On, Milky Holmes, Ichigo Mashimaro, or Azumanga Daioh.
I ended up dropping series like Hinako Note & Urara because how boring that were. Kind of shame though, since the visuals are really good.
Nothing is wrong for having a standard, right?

>Muh Kirara
Not falling for this shit again

>CGDCT are borefests
Nah. Some of them are really good.

Fucking finally.
>Yuru Camp
Comfy as fuck, also I like shows where they teach you to do stuff.
Surprisingly good in anime form. Thought it'd be another NTR, I'm pleased. Yuzu best girl
>Ramen Daisuki
I love anime about food automatically.
Mindless drivel, I just want to see where this goes.
>Death March
I expected worse, I liked the first episode.
Gorgeous visuals but disappointed in everything else.
Like it a lot.
>Ito Junji Collection
Could've been better, still enjoying it.

Still have to start Overlord II, mildly curious about Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens and Mitsuboshi Colors, Will watch Märchen Mädchen and YoriMoi tomorrow. Don't know if I should add anything else.

I like you user, like very much so.
I recommend checking out Mitsuboshi Colors, and pushing YoriMoi way up that list. :^)

This feels so much like old manglobe. I love it.

They're boring mate.
K-On peaked the genre and they've been beating its corpse since then.

Nothing wrong with having a standard, but there is something wrong with telling people not to use a certain word to explain why they like a show just because you disliked other shows described that way.

At least yuru camp is getting some praise, it can't hurt to give it a try and see for yourself if it's not good enough for you.

The list wasn't really in order, just the shows I'm watching right now.
I'll check those two out, YoriMoi sounds interesting.

>Aikatsu Stars!
Been watching from the start and I'll see it through to the end. I'm really enjoying the current arc.

>Dagashi Kashi 2
Haven't watched episode 1 yet, if it's like S1 I'll enjoy it.

>Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan
Comfy Saber without the risk of her getting slaughtered is perfect.

>Gakuen Babysitters
Cute stuff and enjoyable to watch, probably going to stick with it.

>Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san
Not as good as the manga but I'll stick with it unless it starts to drag.

>Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
Favorite show of the season hands down so far, the first episode was incredible. Funny, charming, and beautiful to look at.

>Miira no Kaikata
Shits cute and comfy.

>Overlord II
Not sure what to think since I barely remember S1, I do see the animation improvement though.

>Pokemon Sun & Moon
Been watching from the start, still enjoying it.

First episode was okay, don't know if I'll make it through the season. Next episode is going to determine whether or not I stick to it.

>Ryuuou no Oshigoto!
Fucking great. That's all that needs to be said about it.

>Slow Start
Cute characters with sakuga, how long that lasts we'll see. First episode was good.

>Violet Evergarden
I enjoyed the first episode, not sure where it's going to go but I like Violets design and robo arms.

Waiting on the first episode to come out.

>Death March
I got 8 minutes in and turned that garbage off.

>1 - Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
>2 - Ryuuou no Oshigoto!
>3 - Violet Evergarden

Watch both episode 1 and 2.
I also knew the list wasn't in order, I just liked the fact that you wrote about it than simply listing names.

So far I haven't started that many series. From best to worst:
Toji no Miko
Killing Bites
Sora yori mo Tooi Basho
Ryuuou no Oshigoto
Mitsuboshi Colors
Violet Evergarden
Marchen Madchen
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san
Slow Start
Pop Team Epic

I'm planning to eventually watch the rest, except Overlord and Saiki Kusuo.

For a couple of years now I've been watching about 30 shows a season. Though I tend to lose interest for a handful of them after a few episodes, I usually marathon them at the end of the season.

>1 - Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
>2 - Ryuuou no Oshigoto!
>3 - Violet Evergarden
I'm glad no one listens to you. :^)

Mitsuboshi Colors
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
Yuru Camp
Sora yori mo Tooi Basho
Violet Evergarden
Slow Start
Ryuuou no Oshigoto
Hakumei to Mikochi
Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san
