Guilty Pleasures

Is your taste still shit if you acknowledge what you like is shit? Is it only shit taste if you don't accept what you like is awful?
I love the Elfen Lied manga.

Eromanga-sensei was enjoyable no matter what anyone says.

I enjoyed Akikan and Btooom!.

I liked the Elfen Lied anime adaptation

i'm starting to like monster girl bullshit

I enjoy NTR doujins

I watched berserk 2016....

If you like it how can it be shit? Sounds like you worry too much about what the masses have decided is good.

"Shit taste" implies that your likes and dislikes should be referenced against other people's in the first place.

On a related note, I read through most of the Death March manga today and it was pretty enjoyable.

I think the Haruhi dub is superior to Japanese.
I liked Kyoukai no Kanata.

But did you like it?

I like Raita designs.
I prefer mangadex over batoto.

I liked s-CRY-ed

I think you lack objectivity though.
For example, Bloodborne is a well designed game, with well done enemies, mechanics, bosses, everything about it is well done,
but I fucking hate it. I fucking hate playing it.
I acknowledge it meets the qualifications of something that's good, but I don't like it. Same with liking something that's bad. It meets the qualifications of shit, but you still love it.

Fucking disgusting i can't believe i share this board with all of you

>It's good, but it's bad
Makes no fucking sense, and has nothing to do with objectivity. 'Well done enemies' is also a subjective statement.

some of the best drawn porn is NTR, though
don't listen to screeching vanillafags.

No you're the one confusing me.
How is it so hard to understand how you can acknowledge something is good while hating it?

It isn't even bad, it's just feels generic in almost every respect. It still has one of the best final battles between rivals though.

How can 'good' in any way be objective?

What makes something good?
It can't be just you or multiple people liking it. There has to be a reason why something is good or bad.
It can meet those reasons for being good, but you can still not enjoy it.
I dunno maybe it's just the autism talking.

>What makes something good?
Your opinion of it.

But your opinion is based on PARTS of what you're judging. If it's a movie it'd be cinematography, story, sound design, etc.
A movie can do all these well but still be seen as bad. If a movie does everything it needs to do well it'd technically be a good movie, but you can still hate it.

There are people who didn't?

Even if an anime is shit, I'll like it if I can insert my OC donut steels into it well enough, like Vampire Knight. I find it harder to insert characters into better shows, but still like them since they're better.

What makes cinematography or sound design good or bad without context? I think you're confusing something obviously well made with 'good.' Saying something is both good and bad makes no sense.

Doesn't well made = good?
If not then I mean something can be well made and I can hate it or be poorly made and I can love it.

Any "objective" criteria for considering something good is arbitrary and picked based on your or somebody else's own biased opinions. Objectively good is a ridiculous concept. The best you can get is a large consensus over an extended period of time, but even that doesn't amount to anything but a bunch of opinions that agree with each other.

>Doesn't well made = good?
If you believe this then you're contradicting everything you've said up until now.

No, I think I've been using good as a word to describe well made if what you're saying I'm describing is well made.

Then you wouldn't be able to say
>be poorly made and I can love it
How can something be both bad and good, according to your usage?

If something can be well made and I can hate it then something can clearly be poorly made and I can love it.

i really enjoy sports genre. not only respectable ones like ippo or baby steps but also those with fujopandering like yowapeda or haikyuu

Anime itself is my guilty pleasure. Most anime are shitty and awful. But once in a while there is a story or a character that sticks with me.

But you just said good = well made, so that means poorly made = bad. You're going to have to use words other than good and bad if you want to see things this way and have it make sense. Anime, movies, whatever the fuck, has value that is greater than the sum of their parts for the person holding that value.

Yeah, you can like something that is bad, at least the version of bad/good I was using, hence the topic of shit taste.

You're just going in circles.
>This food tastes great but I hate it.

pop team epic

Jesus Christ just fuck off with your autism, you clearly understand what he means and are just being pedantic about the choice of words.

It's not the choice of words, he's mistaking the values others might place on something as his own.

I think Popee the Performer is ridiculously great.

I watch/read Hetalia

The value of any parts becomes irrelevant once you hate the work as a whole.

theres probably vegetarians who think the taste of meat is good but hate eating it

My favorite manga is literal Trash..

literal trash?

Valvrave the Liberator is one of the most fun times I've had watching animu.

The fuck you on, i'm still waiitng for S2.
